I'm struggling to write this because this book was so intriguing. There were moments I wanted to know what was going to happen next and moments I wanted to just stop reading.
Overall, I feel that Please Report Your Bug Here was an interesting look into how we as humans connect to one another. However, I feel that it also fell short of accomplishing its goal right at the finish line.
The novel may not have been my cup of Joe, but I definitely can see how this would be intriguing to the right audience.
Thank you NetGalley, Josh Riedel, and Henry Holt & Company for the opportunity to review this eARC for my opinion.
Please Report Your Bug Here by Josh Riedel releases January 17, 2023!
Was I expecting a Florida Christmas love story out of this? No but hey it worked out!
Caught in a Bad Fauxmance is just a lovely novel. The characters being Latinx or mixed Latinx? Beautiful. It was so easy to see myself in the pages. This was the rep I wish I had growing up!
Thank you NetGalley, Random House, and Elle González Rose for the ARC for my honest review!
Caught in a Bad Fauxmance by Elle Gonzalez Rose is out now!
Wow! Wow! Wow! I gobbled this up. It was everything I didn't know I needed. The representation was mind blowing. We had a whole cast of gay, trans, lesbian characters and most were Latine! I never expected to enjoy a classic remixed, but boy am I glad I gave this a chance. I loved it so much!
Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan Children's Publishing Group for granting me an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
Self-Made Boys by Anna-Marie McLemore releases September 6, 2022!
What an exciting read! I love a good historical fiction and Solomon's Crown is a good historical fiction!
I was reminded of The Song of Achilles many times while reading this. I would not say they are comparable, but it sent little reminders.
I love a good bending of history too. It was refreshing to say the least. My biggest concern was the pacing. There were times I felt like the story had unnecessary passages and I think overall it made it feel longer than necessary. I found the ending to be cute, but again because of the pacing it felt almost incomplete.
Anywho, thank you to NetGalley, Natasha Siegel, Random House Publishing, and Megan Whalen for bringing my attention to this debut and allowing me the opportunity to read an eARC for my honest review!
Solomon's Crown by Natasha Siegel releases today, March 14, 2023!
This was good. I liked it. It was very different from what I expected na different from anything I've read before.
I felt the pacing was a little off at some points. The ending felt hopeful but depressing? I would love to see the monsters though. They sounded so cool!
Thank you Kosoko Jackson, HarperCollins, and NetGalley for the eARC for my honest review!
The Forest Demands Its Due by Kosoko Jackson releases Oct 3, 2023!
Oh boy! I loved this debut! It was so raw and true. It opens your eyes to what it is like for a disabled person in the LGBTQIA+ community. There are some similarities to the author's show on Netflix, but I highly suggest you pick this up when it releases!
Just by Looking at Him by Ryan O'Connell releases June 7, 2022!
Thank you NetGalley and Atria Books for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was such a cute quick read! It is written in verse which sometimes made it difficult to follow along personally.
I feel this is the perfect book for any queer Latinx/Hispanic looking for a coming out story they can relate with! Edd Tello encapsulates what it is like for us sometimes when faced with coming out.
Thank you NetGalley and West 44 Books for this eARC!
Only Pieces releases June 1, 2022! Just in time for Pride
The story was cute and funny. However, I felt a lack in the execution. I feel like there were also many plot holes and unexplained things. Also for being a novella, it took some time for me to get into and reach a point of enjoyment. It just didn't possess me the way West does Griff.
Oh this was fun! To wrap up April, I read this one. I had so much fun putting this mystery together and honestly was shocked at the twists! I really do t have much to say about this one tbh.
I understood what the author was trying to do, but I think it was not accomplished in the way he thought. I found myself get angry at some points for just the way things were said or how certain view points were expressed. Overall, a great story especially for today's world that just lacks in the execution and writing style.
This was such a cute little story! I will admit that I didn't like the writing style to begin but it grew on me. I did feel that the book ended kind of abruptly, but that could just be because I wanted to know more of the fallout from Mack's decisions.
Overall, the book was good. It had some points that were very cute and moved the story along. It had enjoyable characters and an easy to follow premise.
Thank you NetGalley and Harpercollins for this eARC.
Only on the Weekends releases May 24, 2022!
Awwww! This gave me all the feels! What a splendid way to start the new year!
How amazing would it be to find out you are a long lost twin and Prince? It's giving Tangled vibes! I am so incredibly excited for everyone to read this one when it finally releases next week!!!!
It really puts so much in perspective about how the world views and viewed LGBTQIA+ people on a global celebrity and political scale. We must keep fighting for our rights to exist and love even if it means tearing down Royal norms. God Save the Queers!
Thank you Inkyard Press and NetGalley for allowing me to read this eARC for an honest review!
A Tale of Two Princes by Eric Geron releases on January 10, 2023!
I received an ARC through a giveaway on the author's IG. I was so excited to read this book because I'm a sucker for beachy surfer vibes. I would have totally broken my book buying ban for this one!
It was such a cute story! At the beginning, I was a little confused at the random screenplay after each chapter. It grew on me though and provided more insight into Harry's mind. I was pleased with how it ended with such high hopes and new potential!
If You Change Your Mind by Robby Weber releases May 3, 2022!
I have a lot of conflicting emotions about this one. I enjoyed the story, but it was missing something.
I felt the characters were flat at times. In my opinion, the story would fluctuate in pacing.
It wasn't horrible. It wasn't amazing though either. It was a middle of the road kind of read.
Aces Wild by Amanda DeWitt releases September 6, 2022.
Thank you NetGalley and Peachtree for giving me an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
I started the Green Creek series in 2021 and thought it wouldn't change my life forever. Oh boy was I wrong! A piece of me will always be in Green Creek. I don't have enough words of praise for TJ Klune and this series. I leave this review with one final thought...packpackpack
I really wanted to like this book. I read the whole thing instead of sending it to the DNF pile. I just couldn't get with it. The things that I liked were exactly that...liked. I didn't love anything about this book and I found myself confused way too often. The premia was great but I feel it wasn't executed amazingly. I'm just gonna say it wasn't for me and I'm jealous to those of you who rated it higher.
Y'all are so wrong for having me read this. I'm in tears, sobbing and ugly crying. That was just pure perfection. A story of love and loss. I don't have the words to explain what this book has done to me.
I was very skeptical of this book at first. Everyone was saying how good it was and by 25% I was feeling not drawn to it. However, I kept reading out of intrigue and I'm so glad I did! What a phenomenal book!
I have a lot of feelings about this one. I loved the premise and what it stood for. I loved the ending especially around page 430. Did I love the way the MC went about things? No. I do have bias though.
During my undergraduate years, I was initiated into my fraternity. I hold my chapter and organization to high standard even almost a decade since graduating. The Greek System has A LOT of work to do. I am ever so thankful that my chapter had members from various backgrounds and not just the “straight, white, Christian frat bro” stereotype.
Frat Girl had flaws. It also really tackled important issues though within Greek Life. If the system wants to survive, it must grow and evolve. If it continues with the stereotypical behaviors, it will collapse and be a thing of the past. We should be applying our ideals, mottos, and ritual to all that fit and not just a select few.
With that, I hope Greek members read this. It provides a glimpse into what a future could truly hold. To my brothers around the world, IHSV. I love you all. Continue to be the force of change that I know you can be.
Ho. Ly. Fuck. I laughed. I cried. I experienced emotions. I screamed. Baby, I went through it and I loved every second of it!
Out of Touch showed depth. Character development. Growth. I felt like I really grew with the characters. I mean I guess I did because based on the years I was also around the ages of the characters
Girl what in the unhinged twink did I just read and why did I enjoy it?
So, the author was kind enough to send me the eARC to this after I offered to review it and I am so happy I got the chance to read this. It is completely un-fucking-hinged. It was perfect for my want of a MM romcom meets murder.
Listen I cannot even review this without saying how gloriously unhinged this is.
Anyways thank you Lance Lansdale for letting me read the eARC in exchange for my honest review.
Did I mention this was completely and utterly unhinged?
Wow just wow! I received the arc just before the book released, but I was determined to read this as it was one of my most anticipated releases for 2025. I'm so glad I was able to read this.
A truly beautiful story. I can't even begin to explain how much this story will sit with me. That ending had me sobbing. Literal tears on my face. So much was done so beautifully and just give this book all the awards when the time comes please.
Thank you NetGalley, Karissa Chen, and Putnam Books for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!
Homeseeking by Karissa Chen is out now!
