Exceptional character work this time around. The reader is subjected to some emotional twists and turns as what we know about key characters evolves throughout the story.
The story started slow enough that I was tempted to give up on the book. By halfway, things were more interesting. I'm glad I stuck with it because the ending pulled things together in interesting ways.
Fun, informative, and funny. Classic Kevin Smith. The book feels a little out of date. A lot has happened since publication. I wonder if he will update it in the coming years.
One hundred percent, without question, worth the wait. Brilliant. It works well as a standalone book, but if you have read the series in its entirety, it's a work of art.
So many powerful, wonderfully constructed characters from across a diverse set of novels come together to form an unlikely, eclectic team. Add to that frenetic Robinson plot-pacing and you'll be begging for the next book in the series.
The politics, by virtue of the plot, are crazy thick. Red vs. Blue. It was amusing, but if you're blue, you will need to sit through hundreds of pages that are a poke in the eye. If you're a-political (or Red), the plot is creative and amusing.
So many characters from other books rolled up into one new great adventure. While it's not necessary to have read the related books that came earlier, it certainly adds to the fun. And as always, Mr. Bray's work on the audiobook only adds new dimension to the experience.
