Seven stories beautifully come together on this one pilgrimage. I can't wait to buy the second book, and see where the story goes. I love how rich, and just creative the world is here.
I would recommend this book to anyone. One of the seven stories is bound to entrance you, or if you're like me all seven stories will send you on a journey to the universe that Dan Simmons has created.
A great collection of short stories. I find the stories to be very human, and accessible.
Someone recommended this book to me, and I am glad they did. This book was engaging from beginning to end. I love the world, the magic system, and most importantly the characters that Brandon Sanderson has created.
I will definitely be picking up the Well of Ascension. I have to know what happens next.
A great read. It's a portal story where kids travel to a magical castle, make friends, and deal with their trauma.
I love this story so much, and if you are debating on whether or not to read it. Debate no more; pick it up. I am almost certain that everyone can take something away from this.
A genuine classic. The adventures of d'Artagnan and the three musketeers is one that I am glad has continued to thrive throughout the ages. A story I hope everyone at least attempts to engage with, for it is stories like these that make us better human beings.
This story is filled to the brim with action, adventure, romance, mystery, intrigue, and so so much more.
There is something in this book for everyone.
A great primer for anyone interested in mythology. The author tells you where they plucked the myths from, and where you can potentially continue your research. Another interesting aspect of this book is the author, in certain myths, combines aspects from various tellings to give their definitive version of each myth.
A great overview of a wide array of myths. If you're interested in learning about mythology. I would say that this would be a great place to start.
A great collection of short stories. Very consistent. A wealth of great science fiction is encapsulated in here. I really enjoyed the literary device used to connect each of these stories together that being the titular “Illustrated Man.”
