Well that's two Abby Jimenez books in a row for me and I'm hooked! I loved this one as much as Yours Truly. I knew it was going to be a good one from page 2. When does that happen? Her writing and the banter between characters is top notch. The relationships that she describes feel so real, even the ones that aren't healthy ones. Read this in less than 24 hours. Love love love
3.5 stars. I wasn't sure about this book for the majority of it. It didn't grab me the way that I wanted it to and I can't really put my finger on why. Having said that, I was in it by the end and I will definitely read book 2. Glad that Evie is coming into her own. I think she's going to be a badass in the next book.
I decided to do the Alphabet challenge and I needed a book that started with Y. What a happy surprise to have this be a 5 star read for me. I absolutely adored Briana and Jacob! I loved how she really saw him even through his struggles with anxiety and I loved that he helped her through her trust issues. For anyone that struggles with anxiety, this book will likely speak to you. I'm off to read more of Abby's books because this one was incredible. The banter, the love, the heartbreak, the laughs. I loved every part of it from the get go.
I was afraid this wouldn't live up to the hype, but it did and I loved it! It took me until about 40% for it to become fully addicting, but after that, I couldn't stop reading. I loved the two main characters, as well as, the side characters. The magic system and world is original and well thought out. Lots of action and some definite spice. Fisher is giving Rhysand a run for his money!
After reading The Naturals series by the same author, I felt like I was destined to love this book, but it wound up being an average read. I will say the end was different than I expected so points for being unpredictable. I just wanted more from the search and rescue part, more action. I loved the dogs and their personalities though. I'm a sucker for a pup!
Ehhh...I've read several Tessa Bailey books and this was my least fav. The plot was weak. The characters were bland. I'm all for spice but this was too much and in parts of the book that didn't make sense to me. I did listen to this on audiobook and I didn't love the narrator so maybe that was part of the problem. This was tough for me to finish.
