See allNot sure if I read this? Saw the movie w/Holly Hunter & Bill Pullman first...still, pretty sure I own a copy.
Loved this one - one of the first of hers I read. A potboiler, but has everything you could want in a book!
Quick and fun read, just what you'd expect from Kaling after watching her onscreen. Lots of photos + frank admissions of mistakes made =enjoyable peek into the upbringing and mind of a now-famous geek. Great for a break between those heavy reads that you need to set aside for a time, to digest.
This had such a promising start, but ended unevenly. For example, the ex-financier character who's supposed to be thawing out the protagonist never seems fully there, and we wonder why she'd warm to him, while the more minor character of Sunny's father is fully fleshed out. But many who frequent libraries and find them restful, or even healing, may like this multilayered story just fine.
