See allAnneka R. Walker's "An Unwitting Alliance" is a delightful and humorous Regency romance. Thanks to the meddling, well-intentioned "Matchmaking Mamas," Cassandra Vail and Tom Harwood find their carefully laid plans (and lack thereof) hilariously derailed. Through a series of charming misunderstandings, they end up unwillingly betrothed—to each other!
Walker excels at crafting witty banter and endearing characters. This sweet, clean romance is filled with charming mishaps and a satisfying slow-burn connection. If you love lighthearted historical romance with plenty of laughs, this is a wonderful read.
I loved this book. The characters were so much fun! I enjoyed that the main characters were intelligent and interesting. The intrigue and mystery made it enjoyable to read.
What a great book! It's so fun when a romance includes more than just main characters. The friendships between the Rebels added to the overall story. And the Matchmaking mamas using the guise of a "Music Club" was clever. There was a lot of mischief, compromising situations and some unexpected problems to overcome. I really enjoyed this book.
I loved this book. The setting of a Royal Russian wedding was so extravagant and exciting! I loved learning about this time and event. Th main characters were well developed and very likeable. I enjoyed how they complemented each other and how their love was truly based on their respect and admiration of each other. Learning about the photography of this time was also very interesting. It was well written and I'm glad that the main characters didn't get lost in thd grandeur of the setting.
