See allThis book starts slow. At the half-way point, I wasn't sure I liked it. At three-quarters, I realized I really kinda loved it. It's beautiful in a way that breaks your heart wide open.
Although I persisted, I just couldn't find either of the protagonists sympathetic enough to want to finish this book. It just felt more boring with every new page.
This book was LONG and sometimes tedious (lots of excerpts from correspondence) but well worth it. So much about Nazi Germany I didn't know, and Bonhoeffer himself is an inspiring character.
