Thoroughly enjoyed this book.
Well written and easily puts the reader into the mind of someone living and surviving in a very different part of the world.
Scene is well set by the writer making it even more believable
Links back well to known events & figures i.e. Osama Bin Laden
Enjoyed the book although it took a wee while to get into it.
As other readers have commented, there is a bit of an overuse of ‘$100-words', but once getting past this annoyance, I loved it.
Looking forward to the next ‘chapter'
Enjoyed reading this book.
Easy to read and quite a page-turner
Late to review - but as others have said- the similarities between the Ebola & our current COVID-19 Pandemic
Looking forward to reading more of the series
Great story-line & character developement
This is sooo much like the COVID-19 outbreak - its uncanny - but obviously not the same.
Liked how the plot covered all sides of the story
Only down-side was that it all seemed a little rushed at the end of the last chapter.
No spoilers from me - but it does lead into the next book - Wildfire - nicely
Wow - what a ‘page-turner' so to speak - as I was had the audio book version. Loved listening to this story as it unfolded, and it had all the hall-marks of a WTF is going on....how did this happen thriller/mystery??
Caz goes to bed on the first night of her ocean cruise with her ‘friend' Paul onboard the RMS Atlantic. She is hoping to have ‘the question' popped while they are at sea - but wakes up to find Paul gone and no other passengers on board!
Without entering into spoilers - I loved the twists in the story-line and could almost see this as a movie.
Really enjoyed it throughout the story and found the narration was easy to listen to.
Didn't give it a 5-Star due to the almost quick run-down at the end that was a little disappointing in how quick it was worked through- but then...there is one final twist in the plot.....which I certainly didn't see coming.
First time ‘reading'(I had the audio book version) this author, let alone any of his other William Warwick series books.
Fast paced book that hooked me within the first 15 minutes. I liked the characters and how they were described, giving a good image of who they may be. I was impressed that it was irrelavent that I haven't read any of the previous books in the series, as the development was such that it could well be a stand-alone story.
Some great little plots and twists that ept the pace moving along nicely - es[ecially covering the back-story.
Looking forward to another ‘read'of Mr Archers novels
Enjoyable listen although it did take a while to get used to the narrators gravelley voice.
A lot of information to take in - but the scenes get well set by the descriptive manner of writing.
Some connectivity issues on Kobo - which were a pain in the *** - but managed to overcome these.
Great audio-book for a long destination drive
Quickly became a great page-turner and I couldn't really put it down. A couple of great twists that had me wanting to carry on reading - even when I knew I shouldn't. Loved it
‘Reading' the audio-book version.
Prior to starting this book, I had read numerous reviews regarding the introduction of multiple characters that seemingly didn't appear to be related - with many reviewers abandoning the book at around the Chapter 10 mark.
I am not sure if the written/e-book version chapters align with the audio version - but - by around the Chapter 20 mark - the characters started to develope & I could see there are several stories about the familes happening at once. A bit of ‘politics', love, espionage and good old skull-duggery develope and the various plots thicken - YES - Plots. There are several happening at once - from different perspectives.
This is the 3rd series I have been ‘reading' from Morgan Rioce - and her writing style can be a little off-puting; jumping from 1st to 2nd to 3rd person narratives - but it is probably easierr in the audio-book version to wrap ones head around this quirk.
As an audio-book, I haven't seen the grammer or spelling errors others refer to either.
The narrator for this series is well on-point, and able to engage different tones & accents for the different characters as well - making things a little easier to follow (I guess)
I am really enjoying the story line/s and have just cranked into Book 2
Really enjoyed this book.
Some great character development as the story progressed and a couple on unexpected twists thrown into the mix made it well worthwhile.
Great description of the processes being followed as well.
I did like how it changed from 1st person perspective to 3rd person narrative as well as the story was woven.
