3.5 stars. Entertaining and makes me interested in the world. Although somewhat unrefined
The book perfectly encapsulates the feeling of waiting for it all to be over.
A story based on charactet interaction and growth is only good if the characters are interesting and grow.
Despite its flaws and occasional outdated philosophy Now It Can Be Told is an eye opening and heartbreaking look into the 1st World War.
The last few chapters are especially saddening as Gibbs paints a picture of Europe desperate for peace reconciliation that we know was not to come.
Published in 1920, less than two decades before the outbreak of WW2.
