I see parallels to the world of Hyperion. Both have a similar ecosystem, small distances due to teleporting, global internet etc.

Where Hyperion tells the stories of a few people and each are absolutely riveting, Pandora's star tells an overarching story through multiple people. Hamilton has taken the adage of “show, don't tell” to his heart. He might spend chapters following a character who is just a vessel to another story. Even nearing the end I had trouble remembering who is who.

Much better pacing than the first part, but given the scale of the story, I would have hoped for some more “impact”, instead of the fairy like ending.
