Was not sure of this series at first, after previously reading Taran Matharu the fantastic summoner books. If I had any doubts they were soon forgotten.
The first book started a little bit slow, back and fourth but building upon character development internal conflicts flaws and strengths etc. As the pages and chapters ebbed away, it became more gripping a real page turner as they say. The second in the series The Challenger left off just as fast paced as the first book with more character development and punchy short chapters keeping you wanting to read just one more chapter, overall fantastic read now ready for The Champion.
Overall a good series of books, little bit disappointing towards the abrupt end. I like the short chapters making for enjoyable quick Reading
I have Read this a few times now, each time easier as I progress on my journey of the Gàidhlig language. Someone wrote a review saying it was dull as it is repeatative. Don't think the author was going for a best seller title here....but as a learning tool with a story for those that are looking to read their first book in Gaelic it's the first one I would recommend because it is repeatative with a mythical celtic story to keep you interested.
Leughadh mìorbhaileach, Is e sgeulachd ghoirid a th' ann. Another great book from Jason Bond hopefully he will release the audio as he did for Ròna agus Macodrum
Little bit slow at the beginning, but certainly picked up pace I like the use of short chapters easy to pick up were you left off.
Action & mystery packed pages
There was a lot more action and mystery in it compared to the first book and you never knew which way things were going to go. love the relationships developed across the series now onto the third.
The series started off good, but too many books, hate this short stories format easily could have been condensed into three or four, you have to buy all eight books to get to a rushed ending, book eight just seemed pointless, the two main characters spent all that time training at the academy for 3 years in total for what. I've seen more fizz in a flat bottle of Irn Bru.
Short easy reads, fast page turns action packed, good character building keeping it alive so you can I'll turn just one more page. I do think some of the books could be made as one book rather than the short stories.
Again very repetitive, same plot as Target 5'4'3'2'1 in my opinion, it was the weakest one so far in the collection.” this one should have been called Missed The Target. Not a fan of how short these books are and now how many, that could have been halved by combining the books now I'm in too deep I have to wait for the rest to be written and that should not take long for it's the same plot in every book.
Again middle of the Road storyline is a bit unbelievable how the archaeologist, the daughter of a CIA agent would be tagging along on the missions oh and happens to be fully weapon-trained will see where Book 3 will take this..
Action-packed but kind of lacklustre at the same time, not a great read but Middle of the Road with the support character archaeologist seems to be farfetched and kind of unbelievable that she outshines Jacob Snow. Maybe the next few books will pull it back for me. I have read better.
