oh my soul.... I'm not sure that I will ever recover from the amazingness of this book.... wow...
I know a lot of people did not like this book, and if you are looking for a second Me Before You, I agree. but I tend to read books individually. For me it's like having a conversation with an old friend, you know who they are, but you don't know what they are going to say.
After You was excatly what I wanted from Lou. I was not happy with the perfect Paris ending of Me Before You, because she had to be destroyed I imagined! and After You delivered on the realness of her emotions.
I think the problem people have with Jojo's books is that it is human, it is raw and we want a fairytale, a happy ending. I appreciated the rawness and reality of After You and it is my favourite sequel of the year!!
I read this as part of the Popsugar 2015 reading challenge as my ‘a graphic novel' book and I'm very surprised at how much I loved it! The best thing about this challenge is that it forces you to read different genres and I'm glad! This was the first ever graphic novel I read and it was brilliant. It was funny, well drawn, and well written. I might even say that I'm tempted to buy or read more graphic novels after this challenge!!
This was one of the first auto biography books I've read... And am planning to read a lot more of them! Thank you Amy for being a stunning person, and helping me in the decision to make this year all about me... ‘Good for you, not for me' :)
Put this book down a few times as I just couldn't get into it, but finally I got hooked and read the last 40% in about a week.
It starts very slow, but that helps building the connection with Werner & Marie and you suffer and celebrate along with them.
Loved that the ending was “real” and not “fairy tale beautiful”. A wonderful point of view of a horrible period in history.
This book should get 4.5 stars.
The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is that I feel unsatisfied with the ending.
The entire story was leading me somewhere and I feel like I did not get there in the end.
But otherwise I loved it.
The emotions were real, the writing was good and the characters were human...
I need to read more of her books.
NOW
I really, really liked this book...
I have read some reviews just as I started reading the series, and I thought, oh gosh, they hated it, I will too...
And I pushed all the opinions out of my head and continued reading.
And I fell in love.
I thought it would be another Hunger Games, and I wasn't thinking that in a bad way, I needed another Hunger Games. But what I got was better, greater, perfect.
There was some grievances I agreed with, that it was written a bit child-like (it's youth fiction, deal with it). And that Ms. Roth could really learn some synonyms for ‘say'.
But then again, I didn't read the book to criticize, I read it to enjoy it, to get the story. and what a story...
I want to thank Veronica Roth...
Thank you, for not giving us a perfect ending. No happily ever after.
Thank you, for making us hope for that happy ending until the last page
Thank you, for giving me a love to believe in, a love like Tris and Tobias, a love like Tris and Christina, and even a love like Tris and Caleb.
Thank you, for giving me the best quotes to use and for making me lie awake at night, thinking about in which faction I would've been.
Thank you, for creating such a believable world...
I recommend this book... To all....
I actually enjoyed this book. Despite an unnecessary usage of adjectives and over embellishments, it was good. The plot kept you engaged, the characters had you invested and it was just fun. If you read this to expect the next great literary masterpiece , you will be dissapointed. But if you read it with an open mind, you might just enjoy it as much as I did.
So far this is my favorite installment of the series.... In love with the characters, the plot twists and even the killing of some of some my favorites didn't bother me as much as I thought it would... Thanks sir, for another stunning book....
Definitely a book well worth to be called a favourite... It kept me on my toes, believing that I would have to say goodbye...
hot damn! why did I wait so long to read this particular NR series?? its all kinds of amazingness... from epic, epic hero's to stunningly inspiring heriones! thank you...
What a book! But not my favourite ending.... A little bit TOO perfect and all wrapped up in a little bow. Then again, the little girl in me who still wants to believe in fairytales was very very satisfied with the ending. Thank you!
I seriously enjoyed this book...
It was true and honest and heartbreaking and difficult and everything real life is...
Life isn't a fairy tale and Cheryl never tried to make it one, but she made living in her own nightmare possible...
Thank you for the inspiration, the motivation and the determination you have given me, I can't say I will ever hike that far (or anywhere) but at least now, I am willing to try...
Thank you Cheryl.
I loved having the fairy tale told from the witches POV... Slowly but surely falling in love with Alex Flinn
what did I just read?!?!
This was my first Murakami, and I still don't know if I want to read any other.
This was a mind boggling good book, after 600+ pages I still have no idea what the book was about, but I loved it.
it took me away from my own mind and worries and issues, and somedays that is all a book needs to do, confuse your problems away.
The Chronicles was just perfect and I cannot explain why, but I do agree with some of the reviews. either you love this book or you hate it. there can be no in between
I don't give 5 stars easily, but this was one of the best books I have read in a while!!
