This is the author's debut book. I want to start by saying that I absolutely loved this story immensely. This book had me sitting at the edge of my seat. Due to certain circumstances, that almost all teenagers face these days, Nash's mother had to send him away to live with his grandfather and leave all of his friends and problems behind so he could wipe the slate clean and start all over. Nash had a very difficult time being away from his home and friends. Nash's relationship with his grandfather was very rocky at first but a bond slowly grew between Nash and his grandfather which was unbelievably heartwarming. The relationship that developed between them reminds me of my own relationship with both of my grandfathers. I like how the then/now chapters are both so compelling. Unfortunately, Nash goes through a tragic and heartwrenching experience with his grandfather. This tragic event changes Nash's life forever.
One of my favorite Disney princess stories! Beauty and the Beast is a classic; Gunderson's adaptation was a revamped new twist bringing Belle into 2020. I found it very interesting that Belle had sisters when in the original she was an only child. Reminiscent of another one of Disney's creations, Cinderella. The artwork/graphics were exquisite, loved how all the characters were drawn. A nice, enjoyable, easy read; great for early-readers. Preferably kids in first or second grade around six to seven years of age would absolutely love this book. One of my only wishes for this short story would have been the integration of other key characters; such as Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, and the cutest one of them all Chip.
The way they created the vampires was very unique. I loved the way they gave the vampires their own special language. I enjoyed the book so much. I got so attached to all of the characters immediately.
DNF at 7% I hated the male narrator's voice. It was not my cup of tea! I did not like all of the explicit content. It made me feel very uncomfortable listening to it. I really wanted to like this book but I just couldn't”t
I started this book in 2020 and read 51%. I have finally decided not to continue reading it. I did not care for the plot nor did I understand it. I realized that the more I read this book the more confused I became. I really wanted to love this book but I think the author is just not for me.
This is a new favorite of mine. I got super “Chopped” vibes from this book. All of the characters were fantastic and the friendships they built over the course of the competition were beautiful. The producer, Caitlin, was very conniving with setting up unnecessary drama in the group. The romance between two of the characters was so heartwarming it made me feel all fuzzy and warm inside. All of the different challenges were so unique and fun to watch. Getting to hear about all of the dishes that they made was making me very hungry. This book is a definite 5 star and I most definitely will be reading the author”s first book. I'm so excited and I can not wait to get my hands on it.
This book was ok. one of the things that I didn't like about the book was how much our main character Mari kept bringing up her pregnancy. I know this book was only 59 pages but it still felt like a lot. the mystery was ok very simple but not bad.
This is the second book in “The Vampires in Wonderland” book series. In this book, we follow Chess, the son of The Queen of Hearts, and Ever, The White Queen and sister of Rav. We also have dual perspectives, like in the first book, which helps us because we are following two very different people. Ever is a good person. She loves and care's about her friends. Chess, on the other hand, is not a nice person & only cares about himself & his mother. I love the way Chess keeps saying sexual innuendos to Ever because he knows it annoys her. I don't think they hate each other as much as they think they do because they keep looking at each other when the other is not looking. They keep thinking about what it would be like to sleep with each other. The sexual tension is building between them and I love it. I love the way Chess gets so jealous of Ever being friends with March, who is one of her old guards and is still loyal to her. The steam gets real in the second half of this book. I think the way Chess has changed, for Ever, is beautiful. The ending is so crazy I can't wait for the third and final book.
This may be Short but it's really something. This is my first book by Margaret Atwood and I will be reading more
This volume of cat's cafe definitely hits home for me because I too deal with anxiety which is a big part of this comic and how asking for help is really important. Making friends helps you feel not alone. When you have friends you feel better knowing that you have people who love and care about you and that makes all the difference. This is a very important book for people who need to know their not alone in their feelings.
One of the things I love about this book is how different it is from the original movie, which feels like a acid trip. In this book we have duel perspectives. This is something I really like to see in books. Maddie, aka the mad hatter, and Noah, are both trying to save their sisters from really bad people. I like the fact that In this book the mad hatter is a woman and not a man which I think is very fun. The banter between Maddie and Noah is amazing, which I think helped build the sexual tension between the two of them. The authors added characters, which were not in the original movie, and by doing so the dynamics between some of the characters changed. If you don't like really steamy sex scenes I would say don't read this book. The friendship between Maddie and Ferris is so good that they will go to bat for each other and I love that.
I really liked the way this book tackled the topic of multiple personality disorder. The art style in this graphic novel was stunning it also helped the reader differentiate between all of the different personalities that Elle has throughout this book. There is also a subplot that is a mystery surrounding Elle's family. I can not wait to read the next volume from this series. I am super excited!!!
This is the first book this author has written and let me tell you, he hit it out of the ball park!!!!!!! It was a home run & an absolute 5 star. This beautiful story between Julie and Sam made me sob uncontrollably.. Although the story is written in present day, we do get to see glimpses of the relationship between Julie & Sam prior to his death. As Julie mourns the loss of Sam she decides to call his cellphone, just to hear his voice one last time but is shocked when he actually answer his cellphone. Julie & Sam quickly fall back into their routine of talking every day. At some point in time they both realize that this could not continue to go on forever & that it needed to end so they could both move on in life & in death. It was extremely difficult for me to see them make that final decision. Thank you NetGalley & Wednesday Books for giving me an eARC. I 100% recommend this book.
This is my second book by Taylor Adams. I was hoping for another 5 stars but sadly it didn't hit the mark & I ended up DNFing at 56%. I did enjoy the dual perspectives. I felt like the perspective of Cambry was more gripping than the perspective of her sister Lena. That's what kept me reading. The mystery surrounding Cambry's death and what may or may not have led to it was interesting and confusing at times. Over time it got repetitive the further I got into the book. Overall, it was just not the book for me therefore I didn't complete it.
This book is an incredible debut I felt so many different emotions while reading this book.! I can not imagine losing my best friend. The author depicts a tremendous amount of grief, in this book, and shows you how someone's death can make you question your future. .The slow-burn romance between Amelia and Nolan is both beautiful and sad. Anyone who reads this book will thoroughly enjoy this incredible book. I know I absolutely did and I believe anyone who decides to read this book will as well.
Let me start by saying this is the first book in a new series by Tessa Bailey. There are two main characters. Piper is the first character we meet. She lives in California and she comes from a rich family. After an unfortunate event, Piper is sent packing to a small town in Westport, Washington. While there she meets Brendan. He is a local fisherman who is very set in his ways and nobody is going to change that, until, he meets Piper. What starts off as an extremely rude first meeting turns into a gradual friendship. As time goes by this friendship turns into something neither one of them ever expected. Throughout this story, you will meet a bunch of other characters that you grow to love.
I really liked both narrators because they both brought the story to life in their own unique voices. The story was super fun and made me chuckle quite a few times while also having some emotional moments as well. Out of the two main characters in this story my favorite was most definitely Grandma Eileen. I'm saying that I didn't enjoy Leena but Granny was definitely funnier. I knew where one particular story line was going the moment we met a certain character. Overall I give this book 4 stars.
This short story collection was a hit and miss for me. I wished some of the stories were a lot longer and some I wished were a lot shorter. I was introduced to a few new author's that I'm looking forward to reading more from. Here is a list of the stories I enjoyed the most:
Negative Creep by Alvaro Zinos-Amaro
Helluloid by Dayton Ward & Kevin Dilmore
Creature Feature by Gary Jonas
The Devil's Reel by Sean Eads & Joshua Viola
On The Rocks By K. Nicole Davis
Coming Attractions By Stephen Graham Jones
I have given all of the above short stories 4 stars

This book gives you an inside look at what it's like to be involved with a colt and the way a colt leader can manipulate other people's minds and souls to the point where they question everything about themselves and the way the world works. This story follows two different timelines involving two sisters, Bea and Lo, You get to read about the path that each sister takes, past and present. This book deals heavily with religion. I personally am not a huge fan of this but I understand why it needed to be in the book. I really did enjoy reading this book. I give it a 5-star rating and I plan on buying a copy when it comes out. Thank you, NetGalley, for putting this book in the read now section. This book is one of my most anticipated released books for 2021
Overall I like the book but I would have liked to have found out more about the house prior to it being at the bottom of the third lake. There were definitely some ominous moments where things did not make any sense to me. I felt like the relationship between Amelia and James seemed very rushed. I don't know if it was due to the fact that the book was so short and they needed their characters to connect quickly but needless to say, I didn't feel the love. I liked the book but maybe I would have liked it a bit more if it was longer and they provided more of a back story of the characters and the house.
I am in love
I need all the vols now please. This was so cute and funny love the family that they are making
This book was very imformative for someone who didn”t know that much about the Golden State Killer. Seeing Joe from Jame's perspective was vey interesting because there were so many red flags that were ignored. If Jame's had mentioned or shared some of the red flags he was seeing than maybe Joe would have been caught sooner and there would have been less crimes committed. I liked that at the end of the book we got some information on other killers who had similar traits.
I had so much fun reading this book. It's a new favorite of mine. The two main characters are both funny and cute, all at the same time. One of the characters, January, is dealing with the death of her father. After his death, January finds out about some secrets her father left behind as she's trying to write her next book. The other character, Gus, is also trying to write his next book, as well. As the two characters find themselves struggling to complete their novels they come up with an idea to help each other. This book was filled with laughter and some tears but ultimately had a happy ending.
This is a poetry book for women. It deals with a lot of different topics such as the #me-too movement, the right for a woman to decide who she wants to share her body with, as well as, a woman's right to be heard, just to name a few. I really liked that the book was narrated by the author because it made it feel more impactful coming from her the way she wanted it to come across.
