A very good story about 16 year old Kyla. It had no inappropriate scenes besides for light kisses. The story did have nightmares, severe injuries, and a lot of unknown fears that she had to deal with. I do reccomend it and did really enjoy it!!
Very cute story with complex characters and good a storyline. It is so cute and clean. I am excited to read more in the series.
Very pretty art and cute stories. It does not have words, just pictures. I liked it though! Reccomend as a super quick, cute read!
This book was such a suprise! It is written in a southern english/different writing/spelling. Example Quote: “I never knew that missin somebody could hurt, I says. But it does. Deep inside. Like it's in my bones. We ain't never bin apart till now. Never. I dunno how to be without him. It's like... I ain't nuthin.”-Saba (MC)
It also does not use “ or Italics for speach and thoughts. (You still completly understand the book though.)
My biggest fav is the main guy, Jack. He is so awesome!!! I just loved him as the side guy. They had an enemy to lovers like relashionship.
It felt a bit long in some spots as they did the world building and charecter intros.
Over all, I LOVED IT!!!!!!!
Ages: 15+ (in my christian girl opinion)
This book was a very old-timey/ fairytale type writing book. The story is like an old fairytale in that is your kind of book you will love it. The mermaid was hardly ever mentioned and she was a small child compared to the young lady that was on the cover of the book cover I had. Not quite my thing though.
The story and charexters are very good. My only warnings are that
1. A girl is pregnant before she is married.( does not talk about it too much though)
2. There are creatures that are mysterious and evil that we just get hinted at. ( I was scared a few times reading at night. Just know what your level for scary stuff is.)
3. The bees are not very important at all.
Thes first half of the book was not my favorite. It seemed that there was a lot of violence and a bit too much hinting or doing of slightly inapropriate scenes. Nothing of course that would put it more than YA. It was just a bit too much for me personally.
The second halfish of the book was where I felt the story really progressed past simply showing how horrible everyone was. I started to like the charecters more and all the little forshadowing and mysteries came together in a really awesome way. I am definetly excited to read the Wicked King.
There is also a Gay girl in the book just in case anyone was wondering.
Very exciting and great in the first half, but it got slower in the 2nd half. It talks of the horrible treatment of African slaves in both Jamaica and other countries. There was also some mention of ladies working in not so good places, but it is not mentioned too much. Overall, it was pretty good and a nice read.
The storyline was awesome with so many twists and turns that I could hardly quit listening (I listened to the audio book).
For those wondering, it does have the F, S, H, and similar curse words sprinkled throughout. Not constant, but often. It also mentions that 2 women that liked eachother. It is also kinda heavy with violence, (More the frequencey and lots of deaths)
For younger readers, I would not recoment it. As a christian girl, I would reccomend Ages 15-16+
Set in the future in space. The main girl (Lilac) is 16-17 and the main guy (Tarver) is 18. They begin their time together as grudging companions, but through many near death experiences and close calls, their relashionship forms a bond that keeps them together!
These was the 1 bed trope, that starts only out of neccesity to not die of cold, but then they discover they like eachother more.
As time goes on, Lilac starts to hear strange voices and see things that Tarver cant. They first thought she was hallucinating, then they thought she was haunted, but now they know it's actually a life force on the planet that is trying to get their attention and help them.
SPOILER!!! Lilac does die when she is hit with shrapnel. Tarver buries her, but the next morning he finds her next to him. Neither fully know what happens, but they think the life force brought her back as a copy. I was a bit disturbed when I was reading at night.
Definetly a good read for those who think this description sounds cool! It was just not quite right for me.
A good story, but it harped a lot on Ariel's dead mother. I understand that they were sad for their mother's death and miss her, but seemed like that was all they spoke about. Overall, I liked it, but they could have spend the story up and lessened the sadness of their mother. (the last chapters were cute though)
Read this book!!!!!!! It has everything you could ever want!!
It has christian themes, no spice, no language handsome, handsome prince, mentor-mentee relationship, coming of age, good vs dark magic, epic world building, and so much more!!!
The author also makes tons of gorgous art on her Instagram @hmnnah.art .Go follow and support her!
This book is so good, I found nothing bad in it!
Ages 12+ (there are so kinda intense battle scenes, and a death. so decide for yourself.)
The story is very good. It pretty much follows the exact same storyline as the first part of book 1, in the regular KOTLC books. Its cool to be able to see the characters and their world while being like, “so that's how that looked”, and “Oh, that makes sense now.”
My main dislike is the art style. While the artist does a great job, she does not quite match the feel of keepers. I think that a different artist could have maybe matched better. (That is my opinion though)
Overall, I am very happy with it and look forward to more!
It's the Bible!! (I will be reading this for the rest of my life.) This one in particular is wonderful because of the thoughtful comments, full color pictures, organization, hardcover and more. I am greatly enjoying this Bible!
This book is written for the 13-15ish kids in a public school setting. The authors Stress in capital letter that YOUR relationship, WILL NOT LAST!!!
This book highlights:
1. Stay pure, because God wants it, and that it will not make the other person love you or keep the relationship going!
2. That Guys are manipulating people that only crave to get a girl in a bedroom. (It feels extreme how the authors hype that.) While I am sure it's true to some extent, good guys should want your heart first, not your body.
3. It does give some helpful tips, like “have a code word/ symbol (a ring or something) for when the love is going somewhere it shouldn't. To pay attention to how he treats others. It has some quizzes to give you some idea where you might be in your plans/ ideas.
Overall, it was okay, but not quite what I was thinking.
Very cute book with such amazing charecters! There was cute mentor-mentee relationship, fighting, mystery, suspense, pain, romance, and so much more. Best of all, besides for some fight scenes, it was completly clean with no language or inappropriate scenes! Highly reccomend!! Go read it!!
(Christian girl review)
This book was clean (no inappropriate kisses or scenes)
It does talk about suicide and a charecter attempted it once (not graphic though)
The were a few cuss words, but very clean overall.
I recommend for ages 13+
This book has very sweet Christmas poems, recipes, newspaper articles, stories, quotes and pretty pictures to go with each page. It was very interesting to get to learn a bit of Christmas in Australia.
This book is amazing! The story follows the life of (16 year old) Alina. When her parents both die in a horrible house fire, she is left with an intence fear of land and the chance of fire. She lives aboard a boat on a lake.
One day, when she is in town, she meets Kenrick. He is a ship builder that is then kidnapped! She goes on an adventure to rescue him. There is a huge plot twist, adorable twins, boats, and a hint of romance.
I highly reccomend this book for girls aged 9-16. the christian clean message is great! There are also beautiful illustrations inside the pages!!!!!!
A very cute story about having a friend drift away and how sweet Aggie gets over it and makes new memories and new friends. She never gets mad at her friend, but does except that that friendship is going a different way.
It has a good message of needing to protect the planet and its resorces, but it is laid out in a very blunt way. I think it would be best for young kids to get to learn the importance of conservation. For some reason I don't understand, around 4 times the D word was said. Since it is suposed to be a book for kids, I have no clue why they would include language. (it was completly uneccesary as well.)
It did very good at covering the diffrent cults, but I do wish that the book had been a bit more consice. For people that love to learn about this, and want details, it would be great for them. I was just curious to learn the main point of each cult of Christianity.
This book was very good. It had a clean story line with some action and mystery. It would be perfect for ages 8-16.
