Tracy Crosswhite returns from leave from being at home with her daughter. She expects to return to her position on violent crimes only to find that position filled. So she talked on cold cases, which will allow her more time with her husband and daughter .
Her first two cases are a missing 5 year old and 2 missing prostitutes. The second, has things in common with that with a missing jogger. Which in turn puts her back working with violent crimes and her old partner Kins.
I really enjoyed this one. Like I have all in this series. Robert Dugoni knows how to tell a story and keep you hooked until the end with twists and turns that will keep you guessing.
Love & Vengeance J A Owenby
5 STARS!!!!!!
Fast-paced. Heart-breaking. Takes you to the edge.
Owenby doesn't disappoint. She has fast became one of my favorite, auto-read authors.
Gemma and Hendrix have been thru a lot to be together. Now, they are planning their wedding. It should be the happiest time of their lives. But, with just weeks before the big day, a letter arrives with promises to ruin the big day. Love & Vengeance is full of emotions, twists and will leave you wanting more.
Catherine wakes up one morning to find her husband of 10 years is missing. She must choose to carry on her life with 3 children on her own. I really wanted to like this book.
The story is told from both Catherine and Simon's POV. Was not a fan of Simon at all. When we find out his reasons for leaving, I disliked him even more. He done some pretty awful things in this book.
I enjoyed this book, but not one of my favorites of the series. Features some of Kate's backstory, where she meets her friend Gina and how she decided to join the police academy and become a police officer. Gina befriended Kate and they became roommates during their rookie years, early on Gina made some choices that Kate did not agree with so Kate left and found her way back home to Painter's Mill where she eventually became Police Chief. Years later after more bad choices Gina finds herself on the run and in need of the help of her old friend Kate. While, it isn't one of my favorites, I did enjoy reading the backstory and loved Adam's character.
SJM proves once again she is QUEEN!!!!
Chaol and Nesryn travel to Antica to find the healers of Antica living in the Torre. The healer assigned to him is named Yrenne.
While, in Antica they also discover more than anticipated, they discover things that will change their lives. Chaol fights thru the pain of healing his body and spirit.
Now on to Kindom of Ash. I don't think I am ready for this series to end. I know I am late to ballgame on this one, but better late than never.
Wow!! Many tears were shed with this book.
Elsa who was disowned by her family after getting pregnant by teenage Rafe, makes a life for herself on the farm during the dustbowl era in Texas.
Then she ends up in California with her children picking cotton, and rising up against the crooked land owners.
But it's so much more than that. It's the the love she has for her children, it's the strength she has to do this all on her own. It's the length women go to to protect and provide.
It's a beautiful book. One that will stay with for a long time.
Contains spoilers......
I am blown away by Nesta's story. The pain she went thru and how she healed from it was an amazing thing to read. Her relationship with Cassian was just beautiful. He is the perfect mate for her.
The way she became friends with Gwyn and Emerie, when they we all broken in their own ways and true friendships were built from that.
Rebuilding her relationship with her sisters, I don't think my heart could take much more.
I loved everything about this book.
I loved seeing more of Cassian's story.
I didn't want it to end, I wanted more. I read it so slow so it wouldn't end and it still ended to soon.
I know I will be reading this series again soon.
This is one twisted book. Laura works a suicide prevention call center. Ryan, who's wife called the center. This is how the paths meet and insanity begins. I did not like Laura at all, she was just unlikable all the way thru. Ryan, I liked and disliked. But, I definitely recommend the book. So good Had so many twists and turns.
When Leeds meets quirky Layla, he thinks they will be together forever. Until a tragic event threatens their happiness and almost ends Layla's life. Leeds takes her back to the B&B where they first met to recoup. But, once there Layla begins acting strangely. Leeds forms a connection with another guest at the B&B, Willow.
This is different for Hoover's others novels, but she does a great job with it. Great twists. I would definitely recommend this one.
Until I feared I would lose it, I never loved to read. One does not love breathing. (pg. 20)
We never put back into the tree what we took out of it: we had given him nothing, and it made me sad. (pg. 320)
This has just become one of my favorite books. So good. I just love Scout. What a little firecracker she is.
This will be one that will go on the re-read shelf for sure.
Fractured Intentions
By J A Owenby
*****5 Stars. This is Avery's story, and it's starts off with a beginning that will leave you breathless, and doesn't stop. Avery is faced with one of the toughest, most heartbreaking things in life. But, finds herself reunited with her childhood best-friend, but is he more than that. And now she is running her fathers company, where things are not what they seem. There are plenty of twists and turns along the way to keep you guessing, and of course tons of romance. This is Owenby at her finest. Its fast paced, steamy, emotional, and with twists that will leave you guessing right up until the end.
I read this after all the hype. I enjoyed it, but not sure it lives up to all the hype.
Starts out with a serial killer getting killed at the beginning, and team of detectives trying to find his latest victim before its too late.
Meanwhile, throughout the book there are parts of an old diary throughout, that seemed to make the book drag.
Not sure I will continue on with the series.
