Well, that was ...something. It had me until Penny went to Napal, then it got too silly to think of as a dark satire and rolled over into the realm of dumb.
So here I am, happily enjoying this story when in the middle of the penultimate sex scene, brother says “You're as tight as a baby, aren't you?”
WHEN DID THIS SUDDENLY BECOME A SERBIAN FILM?!
I was somewhere between laughing and groaning in shock. Took me a while to recover from that.
Other than that huge moment of what the fuckery, I actually liked it for the most part.
(I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.)
Evelyn is an escort who spends time with men for money. One day she is hired to be the companion for the rich, eccentric Lady Demetria Balaskas. Exclusively. Evelyn will live at Demetria's manor among maids, her days will be her own, and her nights would be to serve her mysterious Mistress.
Since it's in the title of the story we all know why we're here.
I love this book.
It was incredibly hot. The relationship between Evelyn and Demetria was always pleasant but also gradually grew from purely physical to emotional. Magen Cubed did an excellent job in making Demetria a sympathetic character. The supporting characters all have at least one trait to tell them apart, and they played their roles to move the story along.
I like Evelyn, but I wish she had some sort of passion for ancient Greek myth or snakes or something. She too easily excepts the truth of who Demetria is. But it didn't hinder the story at all, I just think it would have been a cool extra facet to her character.
The aesthetic of this book is fun. So many blindfolds, veils, beautiful dresses and soft leather! There's attention to texture, and sound, because Evelyn is deprived of sight through most of their sexual encounters.
It's an easy read, with minimal conflict and no real hint of “Oh no she's a monster but...”. It's uncomplicated, sexy and fun and I absolutely adored it!

Well, that certainly left an impression.
At first, I was more than a little nervous. Nestled in some of the first pages was the phrase “...dipping a toe into my eyes, instead of just on their surface.” I knew what the author was trying to say, they were going for a deeper connection, but the wording was very, very awkward.
It happened again a bit later with the phrase “...keep my tongue from snaking out to lick the cells of his DNA from his lips”, by now I was thoroughly side-eyeing this story. What other verbal shenanigans would we get into? How long before I read something so ridiculous I just couldn't go on with it. Would I persevere?
I stuck with it, and I am extremely happy that I did.
The Violin's Puppeteer is one of the hottest erotica books I've ever read. It's creative, fun, a little brainy, a little artsy, with perfectly matched heroine and hero.
While starting out a bit typical, their courtship grows into a dialog of fun banter while they engage in people watching. Eventually he takes her home and they dive into some of the sexiest scenarios my e-reader has ever had the pleasure of hosting.
There is no vapid heroine here and while the hero starts off smug and aloof, he gets more human and vulnerable by the end.
While hot, the sex was also very realistic, with the heroine's mind sometimes getting very philosophical one moment and she can't speak in the next, uttering things like “Nnghaafahf...”, the constant need to drink water, the power-struggles and wrestling, and the meandering conversations in the afterglow.
Despite a rocky start, I enjoyed this book immensely, it had artistic integrity, realism, a bit of humour, developed characters and, did I mention really hot sex?
Eagerly awaiting a follow up. 4.5 stars.
3.5 stars.
Boy, I really took my sweet-ass time with this one.
I absolutely loved the first book in this series, [b:Kitten's Initiation|27233487|Kitten's Initiation (BDSM #1)|Evelyn Bliss|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1445320467s/27233487.jpg|46787260] and will recommend it forever to anyone. It's one of my all-time favourites.
The second book was quite good but felt a little lacking for some reason. Regardless it was still hot and highly enjoyable.
This one I liked, but I felt it had some flaws. I think maybe it was a little too long, with some sequences becoming overwrought and so they lost their momentum. There were some very creative ‘toys' though, which impressed me. But I felt that some sequences were out of order.
There's one truly disturbing scene with an inanimate object that left me shocked, but right after that, they do some little girl play. To me, the scene before that was so out there that something as common as pretending a woman was a little girl kind of deflated the scenario.
I very much enjoyed the last few pages though, which were quiet and intimate. But also I'm left without a sense of closure. Will Kitten go back to her master? How much training does she have left? I hope a fourth book comes out to continue or conclude this sexy adventure.
The story sucked me in from word one. It was intriguing and I was interested to find out why Marie was being followed by this man. I liked Marie, how she wasn't weak, was quick on the uptake and brave. The interplay between the characters was well done and no one was arrogant or haughty just because. No one was defined by their snark, trauma or attitude. Everyone was level and, well, human.
Things are slowly revealed about characters and that was nice. It left me wanting to learn more.
The POV shifts were good, lending insight to the characters. The sex scene was brief but hot and I look forward to what's in store for Kane and Marie.

This book was a great way to start a series!
A plot like this one could very easily veer into slut-shaming territory but The Beginning doesn't at all. It portrays the life of an escort as fun, enthusiastic and respectful.
It's a short read but in that limited time the author, Emma Jaye, crafted fully fleshed out, interesting characters that actually dealt with their own issues. An impressive amount of action and development was packed into this story, with a trio of characters that actually cared about eachother.
I liked all of the characters, and was impressed by Sasha's enthusiasm for her new career. I especially liked Max. He was a bit smarmy but fun to be around none-the-less. I'm usually picky about my heroes but Max just totally had me. Max and Sasha had amazing chemistry together which carried on through the entire story.
I have to admit I was a wee bit more interested in the character of Missy and wanted to know more about her, her life, and her relationship with her half-brother. Those two played off each other delightfully!
Why 4 stars? Well, I actually wish there was a teensy bit more smut in the scenes with Sasha and Max, some things feel slightly glossed over. And I feel maybe Sasha went a bit too far too fast. Or, it could have delved more into how she felt about being the centre of attention, how she had always had fantasies like this or something.
Also, there were weirdly sudden POV shifts. One moment Sasha would be thinking something, then Max would be thinking something. It was a little too omniscient for my preference. Maybe limit one POV to one character per scene. That probably knocked my rating down a star.
Yes, I do believe I'll revisit this series sometime in the near future. It's fun and sexy with great characters!

The movie was better.
I liked it! I found the situation and set up very, very hot and hit a lot of my kinks.
However, in the second half of the story, it seems Leia Castle got a little too involved in the hotness and was making mistakes like ‘hip' instead of ‘hips', forgetting words, or getting too repetitive in her word usage.
So, the story could use another look-over. After a cold shower.
But, if all you want is a quick, somewhat dangerous story during some alone time, give it a try. It's dirty fun.

While the book is actually well written, with good imagery, I felt nothing for the characters. Enoch needed more than chiseled cheekbones to be appealing.
There was absolutely no build up to their attraction. Enoch just sort of says what he's going to do to her body the first instant they meet. He comes across as an incel.
I gave up when he broke her legs and said "Look what you made me do".
It was hot and a good introduction into the basics of Omegaverse for the readers but there was so much chitchat. All action would stop for a full on dialog.
There was emphasis on a certain ABO-specific action happening near the end and it was completely glossed over. Linger, please.
One of the best examples of minotaur erotica. Well written with good characters that I actually felt for.
I purchased this story for free on Amazon. Quick, sexy, with good imagery. A nice mashup of eras that mixed Greek debauchery and good-girl sensibilities really well.
It could have used one more pass for spelling errors and errant capitals or missing words, but it didn't upset my enjoyment of the tale.
As an avid fan of mythology smut, I'm certainly going to pick up more of Lacy Loveday's stories.
A quick, sexy story. The descriptions were vivid and scenarios really hot. I would have liked a bit more in last scene, a bit too much telling than showing, and it could have had one more glance over for spelling errors, but it was a fun little tale.
Very good. There was a lot of set up so Cait was an actual person and not just a blow up doll. Her lifelong facilitation with The Minotaur made me feel less weird. I related to her.
The Minotaur was depicted in a very sympathetic way, which I liked.
Needless to say, it was hot. I am going to continue reading this series.
I enjoyed this book. The torture scenes were hot and the political scheming was compelling.
Unfortunately most my review will be negative.
This book desperately needs a glossary of terms or a list of houses and family trees or something. I couldn't keep track of who was who or what was what.
What is a Sheoul? A Geth? I had a hard time keeping track of who was a dog and who was a cat. So, I ended up just skimming over names which, of course, hindered my enjoyment and understanding of all the scheming involved.
A new edition with this supplementary content would be very welcomed and encouraged for maximum enjoyment. Despite all that, I very much want to read the next part.
If you just want furries tied up and sexually toyed with for a while, you'll probably be happy with this little story.
I was given a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
I want a sequel, immediately.
I liked the opening, I liked how both flippant and casual Vanessa was when she first encounters Santiago. I liked the little goth touches to Vanessa, like painting her cigarettes with lipstick. I found that very cool and creative.
I wish the erotic scenes, while very, very fun were a little more creative in their poses. He's an old vampire, get a little crazy!
Most of all, I have so many questions about Santiago, about Vanessa, about Juliette and more. I want to experience both Vanessa's and Santiago's tragic pasts. It's hinted at, but I want the juicy, gory details. I feel there's a rich vampire culture and Ms. Sinclair has teased her readers by just scratching the surface.
This is why I hope there will be a follow up some day.
A girl can dream.
There were some tiny writing hiccups, like some of the word usage was repetitive, and there were one or two spelling errors here and there but no one catches everything and it shouldn't affect the experience of reading this story.
One to add to the annals of vampire erotica.
Well, this was fun!
When the story first started, I was a little worried it was going to be same as many other erotic novellas, just sort of...existing in the shapeless voice of the Internet for easy consumption.
But, once Ema started dreaming of her beast, I was hooked.
This story really likes to tease the reader. It's not a slow burn exactly, but, in the true style of dreams, Ema wakes just as the dream is getting good.
Until she manages to finally dream her way into the passionate jaws of a beast she calls Forest. And it is very hot and very well written!
Then, Ema meets a girl named Kiran, who seems self-confident, alternative and a little rough and tumble. Kiran and Ema hit it off and it too, is extremely hot and well written. Highly enjoyable.
Eventually Ema realizes Kiran and Forest are one in the same, but that doesn't deter her from being with Kiran, were-hyena or not. The two are fated mates, paired and bonded for life. And Kiran's family welcomes Ema happily.
This is just a simple, fun, sexy read if you're into were-erotica. It might be some of the hottest stuff I've read in a long time.
I like the role-reversal in the relationship between Ema and Kiran. You would think Kiran would be the dominant one because she's so harsh and brash when we first meet her but she's a big softy. Ema becomes the dominate one, telling Kiran what to and what not to do, and Kiran thrives being commanded like a pet.
The only two things that bothered me about the story is that it was told in present tense, which is always a hangup for me. I find it a little awkward and it throws me out of the story a bit at the start.
The second issue is that it relies on the word “tit” too much. It's just not a word I enjoy, too crude and dismissive, but that's fine.
Like the first book in this series of shorts, the same editing and punctuation problems exist. For some reason the author put a space before almost every punctuation mark. It was really distracting and made it hard to get into the story.
Also, this book contains the phrase “Ginormous boobies”.
But I still wanna read the third one when it comes out, because hot Anubis threesome is implied and I need more of that in my life.
Well, I think I found my favourite tale of erotica.
At first I was a little distracted by the feel of it because Kitten, the main character, refers to “you”, her male master, but my brain kept thinking of “you” as the reader. Meaning me. I'm a girl. So that was a little... odd.
I soon got over that though once the story really gets going. Kitten's inner thoughts are extreme, depraved, detailed. Her desires and how badly she yearns to be fulfilled are descriptive, thorough and frantic. Her lust makes her crazy and shameless and it's amazing.
Five very enthusiastic stars. I can't recommend this story enough. I can't wait to read the other entries in this series.
