7 Books
See allThis is the first book I ever remember reading when I was a child, and read it numerous times! I'm not sure if I should re-read it as an adult as it may ruin my fond memories of it? :P
Argh... I don't often want to drop a book, most of the time if I start it I'll read it all without problem but this book was just awful. The idea is sound and the whole thing makes an excellent story, however, the main guy (Christopher McCandless) is a douche, a spoiled twat and deserved everything he got and to make things worse the author who follows him (Jon Krakauer) obviously idolizes him and believe he can do no wrong which makes reading his 3rd person take at the whole thing just painful.
I finished it, eventually, and will happily never pick it up again.
Guys... Completely ignore the film ever existed, they took the generally idea of the book and did their own stupid thing with it.
I love Yes Man and re-read it quite often, its one of those really funny uplifting books that when you finish makes you want to change your own lifestyle (doesn't mean you will but its the thought that counts right?).
Its the little day to day things that he is forced to say yes to that bring the smile to my face (not the outrageous stuff Jim Carey does in the film) and so much of it makes you go “What If?”.
Highly recommended!
3 short stories to keep us going until the next translation... While the first 2 were just alright the third, which is told from Holo's perspective, is so lovely that it makes it worth getting the book :)
