See allI thought this was the weakest of the series however this is the first time I listened to one rather then read it so that might have made a difference. I very much enjoyed the narration of this novel though, but it stayed true to the book and read all the repetitive and dumb choices/conversations that was in the novel. The Scottish shepherds, almost everything Gary said or did, Honor and her greatest heroic act (sarcasm) are all examples of parts that needed work or needed to be cut down seriously. I gave this three stars as I very much enjoyed the voice narration of the audiobook and enjoyed coming back to this world but deducted two stars due to how weak the storyline is.
I did enjoy the first book and was looking forward to continuing the series until I saw the price of the rest of the books. The next book is about 7 cents per page and while this is fairly good I do not see it justifying that price point for a book that is only 149 pages. Checking the rest of the series and they are all similarly priced with the exception of book 5 which is full length and just over 4 cents per page.
Maybe I am missing something but I just don't see how the book justifies the price.
I agree with other posters that this was hard to get in to due to not recalling where our protagonists where in the last book. It was still an enjoyable read but I would have appreciated it more had there been a “what has gone before” section at the start of the book to remind me where we were at.
Its still 5 stars in spite of that in my opinion as the humor puts it over the top.
