A brilliant book that not only does as it says on the tin but opens the reader into the life of the author. It is a very nice balance between technical knowledge and personal experience from the man who is normally a very humble and quiet person in real life. So this book allows the reader to learn more about why and how the greatest designer in f1 history lived and worked.

The technical drawings included also are very appealing and interesting to read and try to understand how they worked. And that is possibly the only downside of this book; the author does at points describe very technical and advanced mechanical skills that your average reader would struggle to comprehend. Even at points I myself struggled to understand.

I liked this book but it wasn't a masterpiece or a must read, I feel really harsh therefore giving it only a 3 star review, however, its sequel is better but still not a 5 star book either.

It follows the 2022 Haas season and gives a nice insight into Steiner's year and issues he comes by; which there are a lot!

Written in a diary-style, the book and the writing feels like you're reading your friends personal accounts of their life and job, which is refreshing but not for everyone nor would I usually go for.

A good but not comprehensive summary of the story of Formula 1.

The authors focus mainly on the off-track history and stories with some interesting insights that average fans or those with even more knowledge on the subject would enjoy.

There's very little attention given to early formula 1 seasons and to the modern day era too; with much of the crux of the book focussing around Bernie Eccelstone and his tenure in the sport.

It's a very good read for those wanting to understand the story behind the sport that is formula 1 but equally it doesn't fulfil many other areas of interest. The sport itself doesn't feature much in the book, rather the backstory and peoples that shaped it. It's hard to describe but a lot felt missing and the latter chapters felt more rushed or neglected which didn't bode well as it was the most recent history.

What an amazing insight into the life of an f1 strategist! Bernie Collins is as brilliant on screen as she is at writing!

This was the perfect balance between a personal story of her development within the sport and also technical knowledge of the sport. As someone who loves to learn about the inside and workings of things this is a great example of an engaging but open to masses form of storytelling.

I much preferred this book to the Guenther's previous work, the writing style has since dropped the diary style writing for a more traditional format of a memoir which is much more appealing. This also benefits the book as the scope of the retelling is over a longer time period than compared to the previous edition, over a decade compared to just a year.

Despite the author writing about a longer period it almost feels more detailed and interesting compared to the previous, possibly at the expense of some engaging and entertaining content that came from the previous style of writing.

Where the previous book felt like a conversation or reading a message from your friend's personal accounts this felt more like a professional discussion which definitely made for a more interesting read.
