I thought that this was a great book overall. At first it looked like a normal fantasy book but when you read farther into the book and you immerse yourself into the world you realize that there are more things going on than what's on the surface. It was the depth of the book that made me realize the beauty of the world and the underlying plot. Overall, this book was a pleasant read and I can't wait to continue with the series.
Spoilers below...
I could not connect at all with the romance and this book was 100% romance. Basically no plot at all. Let's talk about our resident bad boy, Desmond Flynn. This dude is all kinds of gross. First of all, he is out here flirting with our main character when she is underage. Like this dude, who is who knows how old, literally kissed a 16-year-old. What the actual fuck? How is no one addressing the biggest problem of this book is beyond me. So yeah, a BIG no from me. The only reason why this is not a one-star is that I feel like the world was interesting but lacked proper world-building.
