Despite normally really enjoying dystopian books like this, it took me an awhile to get into it. I think maybe because writing style is a bit wordy for my liking.

A poignant story, told so beautifully, that deals so honestly with the difficult themes of guilt, grief, love, the difficult decisions we must make in life, and ultimately, hope. Highly recommend, but bring tissues!!

Meh, I think it just wasn't for me. Made it to the end to see what happened but wasn't a fan of the writing style.

Halfon is one of my favourite authors and I was so pleased when an English translation of this book popped up at the library. A beautiful continuation of his story told in his beautiful words.

An excellent read with one of the best endings I've read.

A fabulous collection of conversations with Nick Cave. He talks deeply about life, grief, religion, relationships, and of course, music and art. Incredibly edifying.

This book is not good. I only finished it because it was recommended and lent to me by my friend's mom and I wanted to give it back to her.

This book is full of descriptions of the narrator's friends/loves/acquaintances and memories that tell of her life and the lives of others. As told by a woman floating in the sea. Absolutely fantastic!

This book was a little disorienting, but I found that when I just gave in and let the strange and crazy pull me along it was very enjoyable!

A short read but really interesting comments on everyday observations on the train, at the store, in the mall of the people that interact and live in the space around us.

One of the best books I've read. Ever.

WOW!! This is truly one of the best books I've ever read! Shout out to the translator, Natasha Wimmer...the emotions and poetry of the original language shine through brilliantly!

With Bolaño, the more works you read the more the stories connect and what you once thought was unfinished, reveals a resolution. I read this slowly to catch as many connections as I could and savour the stories.

Beautiful! The art is just as vibrant as the stories.

I absolutely loved this book! The author skillfully creates a world that is both familiar and believably futuristic and leads the reader through different perspectives of love, emotion, and what it is to be human.

This book is full of super easy, super delicious recipes and great ways to use any leftovers. Everything I've made from this cookbook so far has been husband approved (seriously, that's high praise)!

Gorgeous! A journal of thoughts, bits of poems, pieces of songs out on the road.

I don't usually go for historical fiction like this one but it was pleasantly surprising. Beautifully written with plot twists and character development that kept me in it to the end.

So enjoyable! I highly recommend this book!

Eduardo Halfon is one of my favourite writers and I was so excited to discover this story in the kobo store. It did not disappoint. Halfon's work is wonderful!

I only read this because I started watching HBO's “The Undoing”. I don't say this often, but the series is better than the book...much better.
