I loved the way this book reinforced the fact that people are not always what they seem on first impression, and the belief in the inherent “goodness” of individuals.

A thought provoking book for sure. The characters made choices early on without realizing the effect on others, or the long term consequences. I kept wanting to read on to understand how the situation could possibly be resolved. Well written book.

This was not only a story about acceptance, but also of courage and understanding. It was a fast read, but there were many lessons in the story.

WOW. What an interesting book. So interesting to read the events leading up to the French Revolution and Madame Tussaud's pale in it. Very well written. I highly recommend.

Fantastic characters with a plot that kept me guessing!

I really enjoyed this work of historical fiction. It was fascinating to read about the network of female spies and their work during WWI. The book alternates storylines between WWI and post WWII. The storyline during WWI was more compelling; the post WWII portion more of a novel. The bravery and resilience of the women was so incredible.

Incredible story of survival during and after the Holocaust. The grit and determination of this family was remarkable.

This was an incredibly well written book. It is so heartbreaking to me what these men went through, and yet inspiring that they were able to find a way to face every challenge with a sense of hope. It is also a story of compassion and forgiveness. Truly amazing. Thank you to all of the men and women that put themselves at risk to protect our freedom.
