Having read a variation of other ‘life mate' stories over the years, this one is well written and I enjoyed it immensely. There was an error or two that editing didn't pick up and, other than creating a brief stumble in the reading, the reading went smoothly enough. I look forward to reading the next in the series.
The only bad thing I can say about this story is I don't like the ending. But... that's just my opinion. Well written and nicely created, I enjoyed this immensely. An interesting weaving of characters, taking me on a roller coaster ride that had me hanging on to the end.
Another enjoyable read from Lisa Kessler. Well written and the pace fast enough to be believable. The characters were also believable and it was nice to see them grow beyond the current circumstances.
Oh my goodness... I laughed so hard I had tears streaming down my face... and that was just in the first couple of chapters. What a wonderful story that is also wonderfully written. There is enough drama to keep it real and to keep the reader turning the page. A fantastic addition to one's reading shelf.
What?! I just get to the end of the fight scene only to be told ‘end of book one, to be continued in...'. sighs Oh well. I did enjoy it and am looking forward to reading the next instalment.
This was actually the first in the series I had read and I truly enjoyed it. It was the first time I had read something like this and therefore surprised myself with how much I did like the story. Naturally, I then had to go back and start getting the rest. Unfortunately, I have only read it once and the only thing I remember is that I enjoyed it.
An enjoyable read. The only thing wrong with it was it's abrupt ending. That's my issue, not the author's lol
Well... I found this to be better than King's Blood book 1. For me, after Keelan makes her choice, the ending was a tad vague for me. However... This story is a nice twist on why the world is the way it is today.
First, let me just say that this guide doesn't necessarily replace the need of finding a publisher. Yes this book will guide you step by step in formatting your manuscript into a layout that will work with the majority of ebook formats such as kindle, epub, kobo, iBooks, just to name a few. Even if you never want to publish through smashwords, this guide is the best I've read so far in helping with organising one's ebook manuscript to make it ready for a clean publication to be read on any ebook device. Not only that, but this style guide works as the basics of the printed manuscript as well.
Please note this is just my opinion as a reader.
I enjoyed the story. I like the characters a lot. I would have enjoyed the story more if it had been edited better by a third party. If edited better then I would rate it higher.
A nicely written romance by a new author. The main character goes on a journey of self discovery while running for her life. While there have been other stories, by other authors, written about time travelling romance, this is one to add to the collection.
A good romance story with enough tension to keep me reading. It was nice to read something with a story line not bogged down with endless sex scenes as if they were needed to keep the story going. Well written and a joy to read.
This is an enjoyable, light, easy read for those times you don't want something too in depth.
I own this as a physical book, ebook and audio book. I have just finished listening to to audio version, have never read the book yet. Well, most of us will have seen one or more of the movies based on this novel and I can honestly say that the closest version to the book is Bram Stoker's Dracula with Gary Oldman as Dracula. Having only watched the various movies, I hadn't known the story had been written to read like journal entries, letters, newspaper reports, etc. I enjoyed the story. One day, I will read the book.
I actually read this last month in one day. I had an attack of the lazies in not adding it to my goodreads. There really nothing much I can say about this book. I gave it 3 stars because it's not bad but it's not exceptional. It's one of those author tip books you have to make up your own mind about it but there are better out there.
A fast enjoyable read. No one thing grabbed, I just loved it from beginning to end.
For starters this book is free. Every writer looking at becoming an author should read this. What you take away from it depends on your mindset. As with everything like this it is not the end all-be all to success. It is a guideline and should be used as such. Try some of the secrets and adjust the to suit you. It's all anyone can do.
Buy this! It is most definitely worth the investment.
Over the past year I have read a number of books based on self publishing (you can find them on my read-reference shelf in goodreads) and this one surpasses them all. Like the others, this is a guideline to self publishing, but unlike the others this one is a comprehensive step by step guideline. Please note that it is a guideline. An adjustable guideline. From writing to editing to other aspects before printing, to what to do when it comes to marketing promoting your book, and what to expect when promoting the sale of your book; fiction or non-fiction.
If I had read this book before I entered the self publishing arena (unfortunately this book wasn't available at the time lol), then my first two novels might have done better than the did at the time.
This is just my opinion as a reader.
First off let me just say that I did enjoy this story. I love the two main characters and their willingness to grow even when it seems like they're fighting against that self growth.
What rated it as 3 stars for me were the spelling errors and the use of the wrong word or two - the words sound the same but the ones used did not mean as written. A third person playing editor who has no vested interest in the book can fix that issue.
What more can I say? I love this and look forward to reading the next book in the series, even if it isn't about Heather and Tony.
While there were some errors another round of careful editing will correct, I did enjoy this book. I enjoyed the characters, the story and the premise behind the halo.
A young girl struggling with loss, loneliness and betrayal. To top it off, an intruder decides he wants more than one go at her.
I loved this book. I raced to finish it to find out what happens, but at the same time, I didn't want it to end. I laughed, tensed and cried. When I finally finished it I wanted more, for it to not end. It is so typically Australian in Brisbane, the capital city of Queensland.
Apart from errors in spelling (the only reason I didn't give this a 5 star rating), I thoroughly enjoyed this quick story. I have enjoyed all four books so far and hope C.J. writes more.
