Um livro perfeito para conhecer a região da Amazônia de longe, narrada poelos olhos curiosos e sem julgamentos de Drauzio. As descrições são maravilhosas, além de ser uma aula de história e geografia, não só na teoria, mas também se aproximando da população ribeirinha e seu cotidiano.
Felt like this was more of a slow pace read, which actually helped me connecting to the main character (even though it took me longer to go through). It's full if empathy, very original story with a beautiful ending. I picked this up as when I was in Scotland, and it was the perfect souvenir.
Not my favourite, though it did leave me thinking a lot - which I take as a good sign. I didn't love the way the book jumps from one character story to another, it felt harder to connect to each story. I wanted to read more about character X and it suddenly jumped to someone else. I did enjoy Cyruses dreams, fun and improbable.
Já tinha lido A Cabeça do Santo. A escrita de Socorro Aciole é encantadora, emocionante e engraçada ao mesmo tempo. Por mais que eu tenha gostado mais da narrativa e história da Cabeça do Santo, sinto que Oração para Desaparecer me deixou mais intrigada e presa na leitura. Amo os dois!
Um livro que todas as pessoas brasileiras deveriam ler. A escrita do Jeferson é deliciosa, mesmo se tratando de temas tão sérios.
Uma história importante sobre um tema pouco discutido na história da Coreia, as mulheres de consolo. Tem cenas muito pesadas, em algumas delas precisei pausar a leitura por alguns minutos. Mesmo assim vale a pena ler (se não tiver gatilhos com violência sexual), pois esse livro mantém a história da Coreia viva do ponto de vista das mulheres.
Such a fun read with important discussions. I felt like it was the perfect balance between funny and serious. The narrative felt a bit slower, but this also made the reading experience more relaxing in my opinion.
Such a weird story, but cleverly written and got me stuck to the book. I loved the way the characters were developed, how they deal with trauma, and especially how the female relationships are described. There are racist comments about asians, but it felt to me as these were the main characters opinion, and not necessarily the writers.
