Started slow but liked the magic system it implemented. Showed that war is always two sides to a coin. You can explain it away one way or another but ultimately choosing destruction.
Enjoyed the book. Fun to get out of the town they were in but then they kind of just stayed in one spot. Having not gone there doesn’t really give me nostalgia vibes but for someone that has been there at Cornell this will give them familiarity I would think.
I feel like Lewis’ way of trying to explain things went over my head for much of it. Overall I liked the book as he had some interesting points. Maybe I’ll reread it at a later time and understand it a bit more.
Inspiring message from Scovel Shinn. Can be transformative if you let it but great self improvement information. This book shows tat manifestation is possible, but I feel that you also need to be proactive in the idea so that it is both faith and actions through your way of life.
Didn’t want to read it at first but glad I did. I was too young to see the struggles my parents made when they came to the USA. This book reminded me of that.
Interesting read, it resonates with me with things I am doing and things I need to work on.
Good second book. Gives more information about the other friends. Coming of age story and trying to figure out who you are and who you want to be.
Fun little book to encourage fantasy and also dealing with changes of being able to open up to others and get to know them.
Good second book. < spoiler> Surprised how it tied at the end with the previous book < /spoiler> It felt immersive the way Leandro pointed out the details of things along with the world building from the author. Some heavy themes that are shown that parallels our current world which gives us hope to figure things out.
Some good ideas and information about bettering myself to in leadership. Being more courageous even though it’s uncomfortable - I feel like I know this stuff but need that encouragement to actually try it out. This is supposed to give us that encouragement but didn’t work for me at least.
Couldn’t really get into it. It just kept going no stopping. Didn’t know when she was going to stop that idea and continue with the next. Seems like it’s written like a journal where you just keep your thoughts going. Lack of chapters didn’t help either.
A bit tense and wanting to know what would happen but didn’t really feel for the characters.
Good action in this book. A little more history about them which is always a plus for me. And gotta love the positive way they deal with Coco’s apprenticeship.
Confused at first but each story somewhat interconnected, didn’t really feel like separate stories.
Ready for the adventure. Just the starting point for now, but seems to get more interesting.
I liked the different perspectives with each character. Their inner thoughts and emotions of hate and love toward each other was in contrast with each other and made you understand why they did what they did. Not much of a history buff but learned about the tumultuous relationship in indonesia with the Chinese and Japanese people.
Liked that it delves into each person’s perspective. To learn more about their past and what they are feeling.
Wow. Definitely tells all. I’m sad that she had to go through all she did, but I’m glad that period of her life is over.
Fun story always worrying about the main character and what he’s losing when trying to help others. Definitely different from the movie from what I can remember.
Intriguing in some areas. The back and forth was funny but got annoying towards the end. Or it’s just me trying to finish the book.
