It was interesting. I would have liked more story so I am going to the second book in the series.
I really enjoyed this story. The characters are fairly realistic and did not have lots of angst.
Mia Strong still has her virginity at age 22 and is in dire need of money for Med School and her mothers cancer treatments. She decides to have an auction for giving it up. Adam Drake wins the auction. Things keep getting in the way for them to consummate the deed. Adam is the creator of her favorite MMORPG game so they have that in common at least. She finds she is falling for him and vows to just get it over with.
I don't really usually read straight up romance but this one is very well written and has interesting characters, although I want to smack Mia's friend Heath. I might just read the next in the series.
I enjoyed this book. It was very noir-ish. reminded me alot of Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden books.
This was a thoroughly enjoyable book. The first half was a little slow here and there but by the middle it was a whirlwind. I am going to look forward to the next book in the series.
Sookie's in trouble again. A young girl who was found on Eric's property ha been killed. Eric was drinking her blood earlier in the evening. He or Sookie or Bill are suspects. Raphael the King of Louisianna is in town to find out what happened to Victor. Sookie finds a cluviel dor that was given to her from fairy that fathered her children. Everyone seems to be trying to separate Sookie and Eric. Her fae family included. Good addition to the series.
I enjoyed this book with all of its 80's references. It was a different type of book to read. Sometimes it got a little to wordy during some of the battles but it was still enjoyable.
Really enjoyed the continuation of this series. And now looking forward to the next one in this series.
I am finding that John Scalzi's characters really pull me in. I enjoyed this book it was a fairly quick read.
This a was really fun book. Lots of humor and has no sex scenes so it would be good for a young adult.
I really enjoyed this one. The interaction between the “Krewe” was fun and enjoyable. I really enjoyed that Angela and Jackson are the main characters despite being around lots of younger people. This is the beginning of a series and I am looking forward to more of this story. I hope the “Krewe” doesn't change too much and that we can get some continuing storyline between the people.
Charlotte aka Charley Davison is a grim reaper. She helps souls cross over. So is her boyfriend Reyes who comes to her usually in ghost form. In this installment her friend Cookie is looking for another friend Mimi who has disappeared. It seems there are other disappearances related to this one. Charley of course gets into PI mode and then people are trying to kill her. I love that she is snarky and doesn't take most stuff too seriously. Sometimes she annoys me though with going off half-cocked and not thinking some things through before acting. But I guess that's what makes it seem so real. At the same time she is trying to find Reyes body as he is being attacked by demons. Reyes doesn't want her to find him as he is trying to keep her away from these demons.
This was a strange book. But I enjoyed it. I wasn't crazy about how it ends. Sort of a major cliffhanger. I wonder if Miss Peregrine will ever be able to turn back into a bird, or is it because she is hurt and it is better to heal as a bird. I never saw the Dr. Golan to be the bad guy until close to the end. With the U-boat coming up does that mean the Nazi's are involved with the Hollowmen? Too many questions LOL Looking forward to the new book due out Jan 2014.
This was a really interesting book. The adventure moved quickly. It started out surprisingly and ended well. I love that Iris Johansen always brings old characters into her other books making a huge world to get lost in. I listened to this as an audible book and it was very well read with many different accents.
As this is the first in this series that I have read it seems a bit slow and seemed like it could be a shorter book. But I did enjoy it in the end and will go back and read it from the beginning.
Mary and Sherlock travel to San Fransisco where Mary lived. They investigate the deaths of her parents, and it seems someone is trying to get rid of Mary as well. The story is told both in the voice of Mary and the voice of Sherlock. Making some of it a bit redundant. About halfway through the book picks up and really ramped up at the end. Which would make it a 3.5 star read for me.
I found this book very confusing. I know people who love it but I'm just not one of them. I almost gave up on it but I hate to do that. It seems to be about a group of people who don't understand language as we know it but it almost has to have two voices to speak it one for language one for feeling.
Bill Brockton is the head forensic anthropologist at the Body Farm where they study decomposing bodies. He is recently widowed and finds himself falling for a colleague. They are trying to solve a horrific murder together. Bill and Jess will find themselves in the crosshairs of a killer.
This is the 2nd in the series and I am enjoying the world of the Body Farm and Bill trying to get over the death of his wife and move on. The story moves very quickly. I was surprised to find it over so quickly. I am looking forward to reading the next one.
This was a great addition to the Dresden series. I love the fact that Susan was back and the scene with Harry was hot. I never thought Harry would get out of the situations he was in but of course he did LOL with help from unexpected sources too.
Kinsey has started a job from Bobby Callahan who has lost some of his memory after a car accident that he thinks someone caused to kill him. After he hires Kinsey he is killed in a car accident. She decides that it is fishy and continues the case and finding the killer. I am not totally sold on this series of books but with this one it has gotten better. Kinsey is growing on me.
The book had moments that were really good and interesting but then I would lose interest in other parts. Might be I just didn't have the attention span for this book at this time. It was interesting in that the main character could change his appearance.
This book was good but it was hard to keep reading. I kept putting it down and then picking it up later. Because of the style of the book you don't lose anything by doing that. So I read passages while in between other books.
I enjoyed this book. I listened to it as an audible book and it was narrated very well. I am looking forward to the next book.
