Most Harlequin Nocturne books are good but not always great. This one was so great. There is a lot of tension between vampire factions and humans. Alexia Fox and Damon who is a daysider, a vampire that can stay in the light. Even though they are on opposite sides they have a strong attraction. They are both investigating an illegal colony for each of their sides. They have to work together when someone is trying to kill them both.
This was an excellent book. I really enjoyed this. It was told in easy layman's speak. She gave many valuable tips on how to possible deal with children who might be having experiences.
This was an excellent story. I was thoroughly engulfed by the story. For a short story it was very fleshed out. I am going to have to look for more of this author's books.
This book was a bit different. It is your classical Jane Austen read but changed a bit. The changes are sometimes funny, sometimes cute. I really did enjoy it. It is a strange read and helps to know something of the original but the basics are the same as the original book.
Cassie Sheridan works for KEY news and has been relegated to doing mundane work in Florida covering hurricanes and small stories, far from the Washington DC stuff she use to do. During the latest hurricane story she uncovers serial killer and has to try to find them before they find her. It was a little formula driven but I didn't guess who the killer was until the very end which is a good mystery to me.
This is number one in a series. They are laying groundwork and world building mainly in this issue. The artwork is nice. The main character Taco Fluffy was abandoned as a kitten and was taken in by dogs to raise. Taco's brother is a mob type kingpin. There is not too much explanation in this regard. Hopefully it will be filled in later. I don't really understand why no body likes Taco but it seems he doesn't fit into either the cat's world or the dog's world.
This was such a cute book. I am a cat fanatic and loved the cute pictures and stories. I found myself laughing out loud at them. The pictures are full color and very nicely photographed. It would be a nice coffee table book to share with your other cat loving friends.
In this book we find out more about Antosha and some of his background. We find out about escalating power struggles in Beimeni. Gwen is getting more and more devious. Really great continuation of this series. Keeps getting better.
I loved this short book. Sylvia is so down to earth in her advice it is hard to not like her. The meditation at the end is really great too. This book was an audio so I will be re-listening to the mediation again.
This was a good one for the short stories. Not for the faint hearted as it is a HOT read. But well done
This story is a different take on the fae, werewolves and such. There are portals to let them come through from another planet. Josephine has always been different so she has kept to herself for the most part. In walks Cormac who might just have the answers she needs. I'm really looking forward to the next book in the series.
This was an okay book. It was enjoyable especially the cats. But I don't think I'll go much further on the series
Maya and Sebastian are twins and their father is the King of Hell. Part Vampire Part God they are immortal. They formed a Counsel to oversee all the demons running around and make sure they follow certain rules. The rules are to protect the demons from being killed by humans and vice versa.
This is short story that I really need to read the next book. It is a very quick read and very compelling.
I was given this book free from the publisher for an honest review.
The book is a little strange but it starts with a guy asking a girl out. Sounds simple? It's not. They decide to go canoeing on their first date and find a mysterious lake with a house under it. I enjoyed the premise but I would have liked a little more fleshing out of their personal lives outside of the lake and each other. The house is really strange and their attraction to it. I liked the ending although would have liked a little more info at that time. It sort of ended abruptly. But it is still worth it.
Samantha Moon is a private investigator...and just happens to be a vampire. She was turned and now her life has been turned upside down. Her husband is afraid of her, she has to work nights and cannot keep chocolate down. Her husband is cheating on her and she is trying to keep a normal life for her two children.
This is the first of a series and it starts off very strongly. She is hired to find out who tried to kill Kingsley Fulcrum who happens to be a werewolf. There are some interesting characters like Fang who she talks to online.
This was really good. I am looking forward to the next one in the series. I was super surprised at the ending. I wanted to smack Connell Maccon for assuming that his wife was unfaithful instead of realizing it was a miracle. I almost cried for Alexia being rejected by everyone.
I re-read this as an audiobook. It was so well done. James Marsters does the narration. He really brings Harry Dresden to life.
Mia Snow is part of the group of police known as AIR. they hunt aliens infiltrating their world. Her partner is injured and near death. Kyrin en Arr who is an Arcadian promises he will heal Dallas if Mia frees his sister. Mia finds out that not all aliens are bad and is drawn to Kyrin despite swearing to kill all aliens. The story was a little formulaic but I still really enjoyed it.
I only read this because my bookclub was reading it. It wasn't even on my radar. But I love cats so I thought I'd give it a try. I absolutely LOVED it. I love how you get the cats thoughts and having owned cats I can see it. It's just a beautiful story of a man who takes in a stray. It is beautifully translated and flowed so nicely. Just have some tissues towards the end of the story when you realize Satoru is not going to make it. I cried so hard when Nana was crying in the courtyard for Satoru. .
I am dedicating this review to our bookclub member who has just passed away recently. Jenny Colvin aka Reading Envy.
This paranormal romance is based in contemporary London. Silver Harris meets a vampire Logan Byrne by accident and after one kiss is hooked. But she is convinced she will never meet him again so joins up with a vampire dating service called V-date. Logan works for an underworld character who told him to dissuade Silver from wanting to use V-date. Logan does not know why but he finds himself disobeying his Boss.
It was unusual to find a character who is described as desirable needing help to find a match. But in today's busy metropolitan lifestyle it is very hard to find someone compatible and not just surface beautiful which is what Silver is looking for.
It was a light sexy read. Logan sounds to die for as a hero in the story. Plenty of misunderstandings and mishaps.
This was a great read. The mystery of who kills everyone is so twisty and intertwined. I couldn't put it down. Mur Lafferty you got another great one here. Just sorry it took me so long to read it.
It was a light, fun read but definitelty not MaryJanice Davidson's best. I can see where she has built the world and now have to see how she plays in it. It is intriguing enough to continue the series.
This was a very enjoyable read. The world building was very intriguing and fleshed out well.
