I was given this book for free for an honest review.
This book is divided into sections making it easy to find what you need.
Part one deals with assessing what your basics are for your family. She gives advice on how prep your kitchen in the tools you will need and use. From simple to fancy depending on your needs.
The second part is the recipes. They are simple and straightforward and can be tweaked to suit your family. They cover Chicken, Beef, Seafood, Desserts, Vegetables, etc. Plenty of pictures as well.
The third part is about resources for organic sources found in the supermarkets and online. Very comprehensive.
This book would be a great gift for a beginner and advanced cook. Easy to understand wording and instructions.
Eve Dallas has caught another unusual case. A priest was killed during a funeral service. But it seems the priest might not be a priest after all. Then another preacher is killed the say way. Do we have a serial killer? Eve unravels the mysterious killings in her usual way. Peabody and McNab are so good together in this book. They always make me laugh. Another great story for the series.
People keep disappearing every 9 years. The mysterious Slade House only shows up every 9 years. The story revolves around a pair of twins who seem to be immortal and people that are drawn to the iron door of Slade House or are looking for the door to it. But then are never seen again.
This was a strange book but it moved along quite nicely. I had previously read Cloud Atlas and it dragged so I was not sure I wanted to read this. But I am glad I was wrong.
I enjoyed this book. It was a light read but loved the mother-in-law ghost. She was funny.
The story starts with people buying an Acurian like a slave. She is not human. Her kind have been enslaved by human who treat them badly. Especially the one who buys Maika. She runs experiments on them. There are many different types of aliens in her, fox girl and bird girl etc. There is a cat with two tails.
It turns out that Maika planned to get enslaved so she could enact her revenge.
I am looking forward to the rest of the series.
It is well drawn as well. The story flows nicely.
Verity Long is selling her house to pay for her wedding even though she didn't get married. She accidentally traps a spirit named Frankie on her property. She gets involved a job for her ex-fiancé's brother Ellis whose property is being haunted.
For the most part this was enjoyable. The interactions between Frankie and Verity are funny. I will continue to read this series.
This was a really good addition to the series. Seeing Eve and Peabody's relationship grow is really nice. I love the moments between Eve and Roarke.
I absolutely loved this book. Felicia is so brave putting this out. Telling her story about her unusual upbringing and search for perfection just to find out that it doesn't make you happy. I feel proud to be a reader of this book and fan of hers even more than before. She lives life to the beat of her own drum and that is a very good sound.
This book was excellent. Kept me guessing for quite a while as to what was happening. The thing that threw me off was the title. It doesn't really have anything to do with the story other than a plane that crashes. But other than that I really enjoyed it. I rooted for the main characters throughout the book. Its part Time travel, part post-apocalyptic ( I can't tell you how because it would give too much away).
I am very glad I read the prequel novella before reading this one. The novella [book:Alpha & Omega 5393637. It shows Anna Latham, a rare and valuable Omega wolf and her story which is very important to know for this novel because it takes place immediately from the prequel and would have been horribly confusing.Anna and Charles (the Marrocks youngest son) head to Montana to start a new life. Being an Omega means she can calm down a werewolf, giving peace to a species of volatile monsters, she in invaluable. But she was brutalized by her maker so she is very fearful and doesn't know the extent of her powers.I think this is a beginning to a great series. Hopefully they will all be as intriguing as this one.
There are hackers arrested for cyber crimes but are given a choice jail or hack for the government. They need to work together to figure out what is really going on and wind up having to save the world but how are they going to do it when the computers have taken over everything. If you enjoyed the tv series Person of Interest this will really be a great read for you. It moves fast and furious. You don't know who will make to the end of the book.
I enjoyed this even more than the first. Charlaine Harris is bringing some of the side characters from Sookie Stackhouse books into this small town in Texas named Midnight which I really enjoyed. You don't have to have read them to understand what is going on though. Lots of paranormal characters in this weird little town including a talking cat.
This was a fun light read. Takes place in Greece for the most part and involves Greek gods and goddesses.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I did not want it to end. It is a very quick read. There is no heavy romance or sex in this book making it ideal for younger readers, but a well written story for adults as well.
Honoria lost her parents in the 911 attacks. Her aunt and uncle move her and her brother to a small farming town named “Arnn”. There is an area in “Arnn” called “Witchwood Hollow” which everyone tells her not to go in or your won't come out.
The book time travels back and forth between 2001, 1800's and 1600's, telling different stories of three different girls lives and winding them together in the end.
This is a really nice book for young readers. Obviously bases loosely on Harry Potter type books but younger. Very light hearted but enjoyable.
The book is a little different from the Disney version everybody is used to. A bit more violent here and there but it was very interesting to read the original.
This is very different from Robin McKinley's other books. It was a bit drawn out but over all I enjoyed it. The interaction between Sunshine and Constantine was not forced and seemed to develop over a few months instead of instantly which seemed very real. Other than that the world seemed a bit one dimensional as well as many of the other characters.
Kay is a Medical Examiner is still trying to get over her failed romance with Mark. A killer is killing young couples removing their shoes. Kay teams up with Moreno and her friend Abby to try to find out who the serial killer is. FBI keeps getting in the way and inhibiting Kay's efforts.
I really enjoyed this next chapter in the series. I am looking forward to the next book.
This is a space opera story that a bookclub of mine was reading. I would not have normally picked it out. It started out a little slow and then picked up. The middle was a little drawn out but I think it needed to be because of all the science being explained. I tend to glaze over a little when there is too much science being explained but in this case it was well done and not too dry. The ending was a little weird and I'm not quite sure what to make of it yet. (view spoiler)
Night Vale is a town where just about anything can happen. It is a magical town that simply people do not leave or cannot leave. There are strange rules there. This is based on a podcast that I already enjoyed so I was aware of the strangeness of the stories. A mystery man shows up and gives people a piece of paper with the name of “King City “ on it. Two main people Jackie and Diane try to figure out what it means and then try to get out of Night Vale to go to King City.
This was such a wonderful book. If you can you must listen to this on audiobook. John Cleese reads it and I have a feeling you get a little more out of it that way.
This is a very short story I listened to on Audible channels Sci Fi section.
The story is about a robot that is used for fighting other robots in competition. What happens when the robot does not want to fight anymore? Very interesting premise of beginning sentience.
