Two nuns have been murdered in a convent but who did it? The majority of this story is from Maura Isles medical examiner point of view. Rizzoli almost seems to be the sidekick in this one. Ex husbands and lovers come into both of their lives complicating this mystery even more. I enjoyed the story though. I will be continuing to read this series.
I really enjoyed the television show this dog is from. The poetry is fun and would be a nice way to introduce young adults and children into poetry without being too serious. It would make nice gifts for dog lovers as well.
Alena is dying from a fatal illness that comes from “Supes”. But there is a cure. Turn into a supernatural being by Merlin. She is turned by Merlin but she isn't just any ordinary Supernatural creature. She is different and gains the attention of the Greek Gods but in particular Achilles who wants to kill all the monsters.
When we meet Alena is a very mild well manner baker. She needs to come into her supernatural being to survive. I really enjoyed this story. I have had it forever and finally read it, now I want to read the rest of the Trilogy.
This story is a prequel of the Hollow series set in the 1960's. The story features Felecia Eloytrisk (Trisk) Cambri and Trenton Kalamack (Kal) and their rivalry in school and professionally. Trisk is a dark elf which Kal makes sure to put her down every chance he gets. He is actually jealous of her achievements. When he decides to sabotage her he doesn't think it through and causes an apocalyptic event that they have to work together to fix. I really dislike the Kal character but love his fairy companion Orchid. It was a little slow going at first but there was a lot of world building being done so it was necessary. Especially showing how being a woman in the '60s can be limiting. I really enjoyed the ending and I am looking forward to the rest of the series.
This was a fun mystery. I love that the heroine does not fit the usual stereotype. Her friends are funny and I love her cat named Mr. Katz. I didn't figure out who it was until the heroine did.
This was a fun read. I need to go look at the others in the series. Maggie is the town doctor with a 13 year old daughter. If that wasn't enough, her ex is coming for her after escaping prison. A sext FBI agent is guarding her, her daughter is being a 13 year old and her friends are a bit wacky. That's what you expect from Janet Evanovich though. LOL
Wonderful story. I really enjoyed the pacing of the story.
Elle is a huge fan of an old sci-fi tv series that she loved with her dad who has passed away. The story is being revamped into a new movie and she's not too happy about who they picked for the lead. She writes a very popular blog about the series. She also has a step mother and two stepsisters who treat her like crap.
Darien Freeman is a star of a romantic ya tv series and is also a fan of the show but most people do not want to give him the chance to do really well in it. They never really mention that Darien is black but they do mention that he has brown skin. But I sort of like that because it really doesn't affect the storyline at all.
Elle and Darien accidentally start texting each other knowing very little about each other. Elle doesn't find out that Darien is the guy she has developed feelings for. He doesn't know that she is the one who wrote the scathing review of him.
This is two stories in one. One is that Lovey the AI from the first book is now in a body but her memories didn't travel over. So she has to adapt to the all the input and try to make sense of her new friends and surroundings while trying to fit in to society as well. The other is a story of survival of Jane and how she escapes her enslavement with the with the help of an AI program.
This is was so good I want to read the next book right away. I listened to it on audible and it was very well narrated as well.
I liked the stories in this. It was nice having another Anita Blake and Sookie short-story. The other longer ones were good and I will probably check into the authors because I had never read them before. The better one was by Vickie Taylor.
This was not my favorite book in this series. It was just okay. It moved the plot along but not too much added to this overall plot line.
This was a very unusual book. The timeline moves back and forth a bit from the present day from the Bard's point of view to Tea's past in her point of view.
There are dragons or dragon-like creatures (not quite sure on that) that rise up and terrorize cities. The “Asha” have magical abilities and especially dark “Asha” have the ability to put them back down to keep the towns safe. The book seems like it is set in a cross between China, Japan and India. The “Asha” seem to be similar to the Japanese Geisha to me. They are taught to dance, sing and entertain the nobles when they come to town. But they are also taught to fight and use Runes.
Tea is discovered to be a dark Asha when she accidentally raises her brother. The end of the story has a bit of a cliffhanger and now I have to see what happens in the next book.
I was given this book from the publisher for free for an hones review.
I really enjoyed this book. Pilot X has to try right wrongs in space and time. It just seems the more he does it the more he needs to do it. He is tasked with saving the universe or risk it imploding completely. Which is the right path to go?
I enjoyed this read. It moves pretty fast. I like the mix of Celtic and Native American lore.
This was a nice collection of short stories by Laurell Hamilton that I had not heard of before. Most were very good to excellent.
I really enjoyed this book. It gave me a lot of information about how cats have gone all over the world and won our hearts. It went over history of how cats were hated and loved in certain times. It keep it light most of the time. But there are a few triggers here for some people.
The story begins with a bang with the main character Damico getting shot in the head by Carl a disgruntled writer of D & D games. Damico wakes up inside of a D & D game and the proceeds to try figure out if he is dead or not. He team up with a band of people intent on stopping Hraldolf from destroying the world. Omar, Gorthander, Arithian, Jurkand and Lotianna who seems to be love interest although she keeps changing personalities depending on who is playing her in real life.
The story gets a little repetitive at times but still enjoyable. There was a lot of tongue in cheek type humor which was very much in the style of Terry Pratchett and Douglas Adams.
I was given a free digital copy from the publishers for an honest opinion of this book.
The story is set 15 years after “Genesis” happened many mortals were turned into magical creatures. Many died and many were left the same. This event causes vampires, faeries, angels, werewolves and many other combinations of creatures to be formed.
Marion Garin is a half Mage/half Angel and apparently has very strong powers. The only problem is she wakes up in the hospital without her memory and assassins out to kill her. Dr. Lucas Flynn is the doctor treating her and helps her find some of her magic and stay alive in the process. Marion does not know who to trust as nobody is as they seem.
I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the next one in the series.
I received this book for free for an honest review.
When first starting this book I did not like it much. It seemed a bit trite at first. But once the story really started (about 3-4 chapters in) I started to really like this book. By time it ended I was hooked on the series.
The art is really beautiful and the story is getting clearer in this issue. We start to find out a little better what is going on.
Maiko's monster needs to feed but she tries to control it and not feed on Little Fox. The Federation of Man and the Cumaea (religious order) are both trying to find Maiko and possibly harness her power to control the Arcadian halfbreeds. Apparently their bodies hold a substance that helps to restore people from the dead. Master Ren finds Maiko and other bodies that were killed by a Night Cutter. They are mystified as to who is doing the killings.
The publisher provided this book free for an honest opinion.
Gideon Black is transports dead bodies to the morgues and funeral homes as necessary. He becomes involved in transporting dead bodies from a what seems to be a serial killer. He is drawn into a world where there are werewolves and the fae. Apparently he is half fae and was exchanged for a human child to hide him. His human family are quite vicious and he has run from them for years. Meanwhile it seems Milus Dei (a fae) is looking for him and his unevolved powers.
This was a quick read and I was drawn into the world very quickly. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
I was given this book for free from the publisher for an honest review.
A new series from Janet Evanovich always makes me happy.
This was a mystery involving Riley Moon and Emerson Knight. Emerson is very eccentric, brilliant and very rich. Riley Moon gets sucked into his world by her boss at Blane-Grunwald Bank. She is asked to watch Mr. Knight and report back. Emerson wants to see his gold, the actual gold, and this starts an adventure going from Washington D.C. to New York to Area 51 in Arizona.
I really enjoyed this story, it is quirky like most of Ms. Evanovich's books. I had a hard time putting it down. I am looking forward to more adventures from this new duo.
I was given this book free from the publisher for an honest opinion.
Loved this book it was really good. Just when I thought the book was wrapped up it went another direction.
This is a very light romp into the world of LARPing. Since I am not all that familiar with it they explained it very easily so that I could understand and enjoy the story. This seems like a YA book but I enjoyed it even as an adult. I actually would have preferred more of a resolution to the story. Perhaps it was meant to be longer.
The story involves a group of teenagers who go to a LARP event for the weekend. Somehow they wind up in the story. Death and power are real. They must figure out who to rescue and how to stay alive.
I was given this book free from the publishers for an honest review.
