Did you like Prison Break? Then this book is just for you! It is something similar but with few differences. But the tension is there and also the adventure. Who wouldn't like to know how to escape from a prison? :)
WOW! This was really amazing retelling of Snow White, but don't expect any dwarfs here, instead of them there are some dragons and a loooooot of magic :) Simply perfect. Strongly recommended.
Do you like Hunger Games? Then you will love this book! Or at least I did. The story is clever and maybe predictible but the way how it comes to the end isn't...
This was just... amazing, awesome, brilliant ... (add any superlative of your choice). Clever story, catchy plot, quite likeable characters and maybe even frightening vision of the future. Beware what can happen if we stay too long in the virtual reality and computer games. The best book I've read this year for sure! Recommended! <3
The second part of this interesting story about giants in Florida. A lot of fun adventure and action... Don't miss it if you are a Spiderwick Chronicles fan... :) Btw just after this one, you will definitely want to read the third book immediately.
Very easy to read so if you are looking for some time off the thick books, try this one, especially if you liked the first season of the Spiderwick Chronicles.
Adventurous ending of the trilogy. A lot of giants, nyxies and small salamanders and wyrms. You will definitely enjoy this one. :)
Amazing version of the screenplay. Loved it as it was the same as the movie so we could remind that again.
Another amazing book from Murder, She Wrote series with unforgettable Jessica Fletcher. This time during Christmas in her hometown Cabot Cove and Santa is the victim... But who is the murderer? It's up to Jessica to find out...
Well after second book that seemed less like Harry Potter, third book took place mostly in the Magisterium again and it just reminded HP. BUT it wasn't negative. I really liked how Holly and Cassandra tell the story and it's really unpredictable until the very end. When you think “Wow, this was a huge plot-twist!” you don't have the time to recover and there comes another one. The only thing I didn't like was the ending, because it seems, like there are few chapters missing. I just hope it will continue immediately, but we have to wait again... The only advice I would give to Holly and Cassandra is to release it as 1 book... In my opinion, the books work very well, but it could be better all-in-one. :)
One of the best books I've ever read. Mostly thanks to the different style of writing and graphic design. I can't wait for the second book. The story wasn't blend at all, I liked the idea behind the book. The romance was in the background from my point of view and also the AI and its craziness is alarming for us in the future...
Interesting combination of medieval city with modern technologies and also legends from Earth even when the story take place in another world. That is Doctor Who and Clara in the kingdom of Varuz.
Much better than Royal Blood. This was more like the ending double-episode of the series. I can imagine it on the TV, with the episodes before maybe introducing the characters Doctor already met before, and there were a lot of them. :) It was also one big mash of everything, somebody could get lost easily, but I think it is just what the Doctor Who is about. But maybe for the confusing mixture, I will take down half of a star, so it's more 4,5/5*.
It is mostly the same as the movie as it was written according to the script, but anyway, still I enjoyed it as much as the film itself. :)
Very nice and pleasant way how to describe the power of friendship and family ties to children. Plus very good Disney illustrations.
Oaken shows children how to be creative and use the power and beauty of the nature around us.
14th century and crimes. Doctor and inspector in one person. Funny, adventurous - perfect!
Sleeping Beauty in a Doctor Who style. Cryogenic sleep, spaceships, rescue mission and some monsters.... What else do you need? :)
I loved this one! The dystopic theme is really great as well as in the first book of the series and up to that, this book had some parts that somehow reminded a horror book. What I loved the most were short chapters and also the fact that even the reader couldn't believe what is real and what isn't, who to believe and who not to. Everything changed from one chapter to the other one so you have to stay focused why reading. Can't wait for the third book.
I already read Eldest, this time I decided to listen to it as an audiobook and it was awesome! Mostly because of Martin Stránský, who is one of our No.1 actors. I can't wait to listen to Brisingr and Inheritance as the books are really thick. I expect to enjoy listening a little bit more this time, and then sometimes in the future, I may read book 3 and 4 in a printed copy.
I think I am a little (maybe too much) repetitive, but I really enjoyed this one. Many people recommended Cinder to me a long time ago and I still resisted but got to finally read it when the Czech audiobook was released and read it and listen to it at the same time. And I was soo surprised how good it is and how complex the world of Lunar Chronicles is. I am pretty sure that I will push the other books in the series up my “to-read list” because I am just curious how this will end... Bravo!
If you like Hunger Games, you may like also this book which has somehow partially similar story. The style is not bad at all, but the book still contains some gramatical mistakes and typos and few of the plot twists doesn't make sense. But I recommend reading it before judging it.
