I hate giving 1 star ratings, but I don't have a single good thing to say about this book. The way it's put together is weird. At first I thought maybe there was a formatting issue. Nope, as I got further in the book I realized that it was purposely written to look similar to a diary, but there aren't any dates or headers between entries. It's a couple paragraphs then a RANDOM number of spaces between each entry. The writing style is very simplistic and reminded me of: See Jane run. Jane runs fast.
The only reason i would ever recommend this book to anyone would be to piss them off. I hate that the cover of this book is going to instantly catch the eye of teenage girls. My daughter, 11, and little sister, 13, were so disappointed that their ‘love at fist sight book' was, in their words, LIKE SO SUCKY! I really like how it has gotten easier for writers to be published, but it also makes crap like this easier to get published too.
I honestly thought this was a children's book. I sat down with my 6 year old son to read it quickly realized from the lack of pictures that it wasn't the right age group for him. More suited for my 11 year old daughter, maybe. I found it to be quite boring myself. Yes it rhymes, but there is no consistency un the rythem and I found myself having to reread lines to make sure I had read them correctly.
I received this from Netgalley in exchange for honest review.
I thought this book was perfect. This book really kept my son's interest throughout and gave me the perfect way to get him interested in art. I love how at the end there is an index containing the information about each peice of art used throughout the book.
I received this from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Ben inherits the responsibility after the death of his brother. He has no idea how to keep the company in good running order. The members on the board of the board want him out fearing he will rub the company into the ground. He has no intention of selling his majority share or stepping down as CEO. He meets Ashley and decides to make her his personal assistant, mostly because he wants to keep her close. His attraction to the girl is both irrational and uncharacteristic to him. He finds himself laughing and smiling which he hasn't done in a long time. Him and her can't be; shifters don't have relationships with humans.
Ashley, tired of her boring entry level job at Stone Tech just landed a job as the personal assistant to the CEO and owner of the company, Ben Stone. She finds her new boss very attractive. A man that...stole her breath with every glance.
Shortly after starting her new job, Ashley, tries to call her twin sister. A man answers the other end and tells her that if she wants to see her sister alive again she must do as he says. He wants her to switch out Ben's computer for a fake one and bring it to them. Ben catches her in the act and thinks she was hired to kill him. He shifts into wolf form and saves her from her from being captured during the trade off for her sister. He shoves her into his car and takes her away to interrogate her. Then it gets corny...
While blind folding her with a crown of duct tape...
Ben didn't mean to make love to Ashley's hair with his hand, but once he'd buried his fingers in the glossy, thick mane, it became a compusion.
A few sentences after the above corniness Ben catches her trying to retrieve her phone and punishes her by...
...snatching the phone from her had. Yanking her panties into her crack, he landed several hard spanks on her sit spots with it.
It was a chore to work my way through this.

This is book two in The Leopards Unleashed Series by Dana Haynes. Each book is a standalone but would be better understood if read in order. Wereleper, the first in the series is available free for Kobo and Kindle.
After the death of his evil controlling wife, Brom is still haunted by her. He stays in a constant state of intoxication trying to drown her irritating voice from his mind. After multiple tries at ending his pathetic existence he comes to terms with the fact that he is destined to live and decides to right the wrongs of his past. He is determined to prove to his daughter that he can be a better grandfather to his grandcubs than he was a father to her. Things go from bad to worse. He finds himself attracted to a human named Sid, which is highly frowned upon. There is no way the were population would allow him to remain king if he fell for her. Then he gets into a fight with a bunch of humans and shifts into his animal form, another big no-no. The were community issues a manhunt for hum to bring him up on charges for his acts. Will he ever get his shit straight and not only stay out of trouble, but stay away from the human who he finds himself obsessing with.
Sid, after an amazingly wild one night stand with Brom, is afraid she may be pregnant. To make matters worse she finds out that he isn't even human, he turns into a leopard. Humans don't mix with shifters. If she is pregnant what would she give birth to an animal? Even though she knows a relationship with a shifter is out of the question, she can't get Brom out of mind.
This book starts where the book Wereleper left off. I really enjoyed this book. I went into this hating Brom for what he did to his daughter, Mac, in the last book. His actions are explained in this story. I did miss the grittiness that expected after reading Mac's story, a 5+++ star read for me. This one I give 4 stars, but it didn't blow me away like the first one did. I liked this but wanted, and expected, to love it. I will most likely continue this series but ho the next book contains the grittiness and emotion that the first book did.
This is a small collection of short stories perfect for bedtime. There aren't a lot of pictures in this, only one per story, but that is perfect for bedtime when I want my six year old to wind down.
Each story is about a different monster who figures out a way to overcome dilemmas. My favorite is about a sunshine monster named Sunny. When the sun isn't shining they are invisible. It's difficult to do certain things like going to school, no one can see you raise your hand. On a rainy day, Sunny decides she is tired of being invisible and decides to fix the problem for her and her family.
These short stories and we're perfect for me and my kid, we had a very busy week. Each story only took about two minutes so it didn't take up too much time but it also gave my son something to think about while falling asleep. At the end of some the stories there is a short activity. These were also simple enough that my 11 year old daughter read to him two nights this week, even though she is self proclaimed bookworm she hates to eat outloud. I like the fact that this gave them something to do together besides trying to rip each other's heads off (their favorite past time).
I HATE GIVING ONE STAR REVIEWS.
This book, like so many others by Mac Flynn, started out great then quickly let me down. Gave up about 10 pages before it was finished. Lost all interest and didn't give two shits about what happened to any of the characters. If this wouldn't have been on my 500 dollar galaxy tab s I would have smashed it off the wall. Let me add, that I was in a wonderful mood before reading this..now, not so good. Thank you Miss Kate for recommending this work of crap to me. You're still my best friend though...lol.
Robert Londrigan leaves to cool off after him and his pregnant wife, Denise, get in an argument. While he out strange things start to happen to him and he wonders if he is hallucinating. When he returns home he finds her in very bad health, she dies at hospital. She had been pregnant with a daughter. While viewing their bodies, Robert is attacked and the body of his daughter is stolen. The doctor patches him up and the police promise to look for his attacker and find out what has become of his daughter's corpse. After he returns home things get weird again. Is he hallucinating or is what he is seeing really there? I would love to get into more detail about his hallucinations but I can't without giving things away.
This is not the first book I have read by this author, but it is by far the most complex and imaginative. This is a unique dark fantasy/horror book that I can compare to nothing I have ever read. You know the famous quote from the movie Shrek ‘Ogres are like onions.'? Well this book is like an onion, it has layers. This is a book about grief, crime, true love, mythology, faith, consequence, and I could go on and on. The story dips in and out of our world entering alternate dimensions.
This is not a book you read to pass time. If you decide to read this make sure you can do so with undivided attention. This isn't something you can pick up, then set it down and come back to it later, it's too complex for leisure reading. (Side Note: Don't read it at home alone while your husband and kids are camping either...FREAKY!)
My reaction after finishing this book: At first I just sat in my chair trying to process all that I had read. THAT WAS EFFING AWESOME! I want to run up and down my street shouting praise for this book. I want to buy a copy of for everybody I know and give it to them as a birthday gift and forcefully make them read it (no way in hell am I loaning anybody my copy of it...MINE! MINE! MINE! DON'T TOUCH!).

This is a collection of photographs taken by Henry Bourne at many British folklore festivals. These festivals are well known for not only their music and story telling, but also the wonderful display of costumes worn by the revelers.
This isn't a book you pick up to read. As another reviewer stated, it is a ‘coffee table book'. There is a short introduction at the beginning of the book but other than that, it is full of colorful photographs of various costumes depicting modern day interpretations of British folklore.
While looking through this book the first thing that popped through my head was...Look at all the wonderful costume ideas. I am already putting some of the costumes onto pattern.
UPDATE: EVERYONE WHO COMES TO MY HOUSE PICKS THIS UP TO LOOK AT. LAST SATURDAY, WE HAD A BBQ PARTY. WE ENDED OUTSIDE AT THE PICNIC TABLE PASSING THIS BOOK AROUND AND RESEARCHING ALL THE FOLKLORE THAT INSPIRED THE MANY COSTUMES. TWO HOURS OF ENTERTAINMENT THAT NOT ONLY HELD THE ADULTS ATTENENTION, BUT THE KIDS ALSO. WE ALL HAD A GREAT TIME.
Five Steps by Tim I. Gurung John is devasted after his wife and son die in an explosion. A month after the explosion he visits the site of their death. While looking around he finds a computer memory stick; the only thing saved on them is a list of five phone numbers. He can't help but wonder if the numbers are somehow connected to the explosion and decides investigate the people connected to them. Within a month he sells his home and most his belongings then sets of on a quest for answers.
This is an inspirational story of moving past grief and finding reasons to live again.
Easy to navigate instructional manual.
This is a great addition to my husband's automotive reference collection. Easy to follow, step by step instructions with in color photos to help aleviate any confusion.
This couldn't have came at a better time. One of the mechanics at my husband's shop was having difficulties tearing into the rear end of a Chevy at the exact time this came in the mail. The problem was remedied quickly with the help of this book.
Being a curious person, and a very nonmechanically inclined person I decided to thumb through this book myself. I actually understood what they were doing as they reassembled parts.
My six year old read this tonight to me for our ‘Three Books a Week For Summer Break Challenge'. This was perfect for him. Long enough that I felt it was sufficient for summer reading but also short enough that it kept his interest. The illustrations are bright and crisp. The sentences rhyme making it fun. Roly-Poly is full of energy just like my rambunctious little boy.
Alyssa has lived in a compound ran by a Demonic leader, Walton, almost all her life. She has a young daughter named Samantha is thought to be the key to surviving the coming apocalypse, Alyssa takes her daughter and flees in hopes of saving her daughter from Walton. Soon after they leave a shooting star streaks through the sky and Samantha asks her mother if it could possibly be an angel. Her mother, after years of nothing but terror and sorrow, tells her there is no such things as angels. She meets a man, Gabe, who seems to always be around when she needs saving. She knows there is more to the man who keeps saving her her and her past has taught her not to trust men but for some reason her daughter feels safe with him. I can't say much more without it containing spoilers.
This book was like/hate for me. I loved the idea behind the book; good v.s. evil, demons v.s. angel...YEAH! GIVE IT TO ME NOW!! The first couple of chapters were really good and had me eager to keep reading. Then, to my disappointment, it becomes bland and irritating. The dialog bothered me, it felt emotionless. Alyssa's character is dense. I wanted to scream at her. She had been told multiple times how to stay undetected and still kept on making obvious mistakes. She at one point knows she has encounters a demon and doesn't even alert her protector to it's presence. I kept hoping her character would perish and then story would continue with Gabe protecting Samantha, I liked their characters. The whole story was repetitive and felt like I was rereading the same scenes over and over (and over and over and over) just written a little different each time.
Naked at Lunch Rules
1. Nudism is encouraged.
2. Photography is NOT permitted.
3. Sit on a towel.
Whether it's a book about marijuana or nudists, John Haskell Smith takes his research very seriously and inserts himself into the lifestyle. Near the beginning of Naked At Lunch, Smith includes a comment his wife makes about his decision to write a book on nudism and it's culture:
“First you're stoned all the time and now you're going to be naked? Why can't you write a book about cheese? You like cheese.”
Have you ever wondered how awkward it would be to visit a nudist resort and sit there naked with a bunch of other naked people? I can honestly say I have wondered how the people there feel comfortable enough to bare it all and strut their stuff.
This book is hilarious. The adventures the author experienced are funny, but the snarky way he writes about them takes it to a whole other level.

This is the best book I have read in a long time.
I can't fathom the courage it took to write and publish a novel admitting to one's transgressions and take ownership to them. The author's honesty and ability to take her emotions and turn them into a literary masterpiece has made her my new hero.
C.J. and Levi's relationship is not a happy one. C.J. doesn't realize the extent of her unhappiness until she meets Grant and instantly finds herself attracted to him. She knows the smart thing to do is to stay away from him but continually finds reasons to be near him. They share a lot of the same interests and hobbies making easy to enjoy each other. When they are apart C.J. finds herself thinking about him constantly.
This is a true story of a woman's journey down path towards love and happiness. Should she do the ‘right' thing and fight for her marriage to Levi who drives her absolutely insane? Should she take a chance on a man she has the time of her life with but has a reputation of being a man that ‘will never settle'? She feels her parents, brother, friends, daughter, and especially husband would never understand or forgive her if she broke up her marriage.
I recommend this book to everyone. It is geared towards adults but I WOULD NOT rate it XXX. So many books now are just a reason to read about sex. This one is not. I love how the author was able to describe intense feelings of love and lust with making it penthouse forum with a pretty cover.
I am pretty sure I am correct when I say that not only has this author had the courage to pour her heart out and publish it, she also put her face on the cover.
I read this book in one sitting, at the beach, unable to put it down. I was so into the book that I forgot about sunscreen and now have a horrible sunburn.
Oh my did I enjoy this. l kept waking my husband up because I couldn't stop myself from laughing out loud while lying in bed reading this. This is a quick read and took me about an hour to read.
Peaches wakes up naked in the morgue on a cold slab in the cooler. The only explanation she can think of is that she is a vampire. Peaches seems to not have a sensor between her brain and mouth. She meets Bane who is a vampire who breaks the news to Peach that she is in fact not a vampire but she is something, he just doesn't know what.
