Frankly phenomenal. This was my first romance book so who knows how it holds up to the rest of the genre, but it was moving and sweet and wonderful. I'm so glad it ended the way it did or I might have screamed, but god I love these two
I really really liked this book. The chemistry was peak, but it wasn't as much found family as the House in the Cerulean Sea which was what I was craving. I really really liked it though :))
I felt horrible reading this. Well written and good parts and I love me some found family but rather creepy tbh. Kaleb especially
I found this book to be quite fantastic, but a little long winded and at times almost predictable. The concept is very good and I really enjoyed the plot twist. I literally had to put my book down and my jaw dropped. I think many of the characters were slightly flat, and some plot lines were unresolved but overall it was a good thriller and an engaging read
This book was so gorgeous I just couldn't put it down. Every character was so endearing and it was one of the only books that has put a smile on my face recently. I needed an escape and this fantasy world was exactly what I was craving. Found family, little homosexuality, hilarious children, and a sense of belonging I wish I could have in real life. <3
Heartbreaking book. I related to so many of her experience that it was hard to read without wondering about my past. The writing was a little too flowery at times but the whole book was a punch to the gut. The only thing that bothered me was the generalizations and negative views of all white people. I understand the perspective but it seemed ultimately hurtful to describe her abusers above all as white men.
I did cry, but I was really underwhelmed by the ending. Very emotionally charged, but past the actual events being sad the writing didn't make me feel much
I expected this book to be so good but it just wasn't. Achilles was genuinely the worst character I have read, having no personality until the end of the book where he becomes an absolute douchebag. The main problem was the one dimensionality of almost every character. Patroclus, just an Achilles fanboy. Achilles? Literally only cares about his honor. Thetis? Homophobe. The only okay character was that Anatolian girl but even she was forgettable. I'm really sad that I didn't like this book :(
