Really good story. Friends to lovers trope, he falls first. Story had me teary-eyed a couple of times. Fast read.
I spent at least 40% of this book confused. It felt like I had missed pages of info I needed. I think I got a lot of it through inference as the book went on, but I feel like there are still pieces I'm missing. I completely get that it was done on purpose, but maybe too much was left out.
I was only partially interested until we got about 75% in. Then it picked up and I got more deeply invested. I will read the next book (and likely the series). This reminded me of other series of “paranormal investigators” but only slightly.
in book “Mu” - This bundle includes The Grimm Cases books one through three, the Home novella, and bonus scenes from the guy's point of view.
The series definitely got better. There were still things I feel like I didn't understand, but I basically just started ignoring them and focused on the main message and not all the little nuances of what I didn't get.
And man do I understand you guys calling this one a SLLLLLOOOOOOWWWWWW burn. I was beginning to wonder if it was going to do more than smolder. I didn't get the love scene I wanted. That made me unhappy. But overall good series. Not a 5 star, but definitely one of the better ones. RHR comes through for me again :)
Defiance takes this series up a notch. I thought the second book was better than the first. I am eagerly awaiting Obsession. This is a great series with more focus on action than the blood-drinking ... which is definitely a positive for me as that is the one part of vampire books I struggle with.
There are new elements introduced into this story that you don't see coming and even I am ready to kill Ravana at this point!
The book sounded like it would be hilarious, but the humor mostly fell flat. I stopped reading it because I stopped caring how it ended.
Definitely enjoyed this first book - other than the cliffhanger ending. A little confused, but not badly. I definitely will continue the series - not just because it is part of RHR's Buddy Read that ended on January 10th, but also because I'm intrigued. I actually like the heat-level. It wasn't the focus of the book, which I appreciate.
This book is phenomenal!! This book definitely keeps you guessing and spinning your own theories about what is possibly going on. I love the chemistry between the guys and Meyer. Come on Book 2.
This was those rare books that sucks you in and doesn't want to let you go. There were a few surprises and some things that didn't go the way I thought they would. It definitely stands out from the pack as one of the better ones. It didn't bore me at any point - the sex was enough without being over the top, and it wasn't so frequent I started skipping scenes. Overall it was worth the time invested.
This book, about a poor boy in Appalachia was really one that made you think. It touched on so many subjects - poverty, being “redneck” - the label and the reality, living in the country, living in the city - after living in the country, drug addiction, how opioids start off “helpful”, until they are not, I could go on. But as a person who grew up in a bigger city, surrounded by “country-folk”, and raised in a small town, this book spoke to me. About why so many of my relatives (in the poor, country counties) are addicted - to something, many having a history of incarceration. Just a lot to think about. It's been a couple of hours since I finished it - and it is still on my mind. That is one of the earmarks to a good book, in my opinion. I read this book for bookclub, but I'm glad I did. Looking forward to some good discussion this week :)

and not the ending you expect
I normally read romance. But, this was ultimately about relationships between women .... and was lovely at the end.
This is a great start to a series. It is tight and well-written. It is a bit of a slow-burn Reverse Harem, but still delivers on the hot sex.
I cannot wait to read the sequel, Defiance, out next month.
