Another SK book that just misses the mark. For a simple fiction novella it would have been an okay book. 3/3.5 at most but better than a 2. The sheer fact that this was under HORROR and there was really none. For someone who is as hyped as he is I expect way more than what he has given.

I wanted to read it for Christmas and it was the perfect size for such a busy time of the year. I think if you like Alien vs. Predator or even really just liked Prey I think you would like this in a way. I felt like Sergio pulled somewhat from that and I don't hate it. I loved the movies so and having it play some kind of base for this was really nice. Also the fact that I rather watch than read my Sci-fi is something and me liking this book just says something. There is something about mixing horror and Christmas that sends it to another level. It isn't something you expect on a happy holiday so feeling spooked by this book, even with the little that I did, means a good bit to me. All in all I really recommend this book to anyone who likes the categorizes listed above and if you like really short reads. That gift Sergio gives us is nice, especially for me who is in that group of people!

It is kinda hard to say it is horror or BL because everything is just so... under the surface.

The tent in the middle of a small wooded area, creepy clowns, and other circus acts. In the sense of what was going on it was very creepy. Other than that it read very middle school, just starting high school. There was A LOT of repetition in the book to the point where you just started not to care about the characters. And besides that it was all telling and not showing. Writing in first person is hard and you have to put in a lot more work. His author's note in the back was nice but I think he is going to need to work on it.That being said it wasn't too horrible. It was a quick and easy read and if anyone asks I will be picking up the puppet book by him soon. It just sounds so creepy!ALSO, one more thing. The tent... and whole aspect of it kind of reminds me of IT by Stephen King.

I enjoyed the... wild trip it gave. I did like some of the characters, mostly Death, Death of Rat and Susan. There were some really loveable times that I enjoyed immensely. The only real problem I had with it all had to do with the writing. I will say I have a smidge of a headache from reading majority of the book in one sitting. That is also my fault for waiting until I only had one day left on my rental. Lol.

I had been dreading this prompt since I don't care much about a celebrity's life. I still don't, but it was nice to hear about Henry Winkler. I have seen him a few times growing up and seeing a book about him put me in my feels real quick.The books was good for what it was worth. Henry seems like a funny guy, but I think he also seemingly went through a whole “artist life”. Parents didn't like his career choice, he makes it big and now they seem to approve. Cookie cutter stuff, but the stuff in between was really nice to hear. Also Henry reading felt like a nice warm cup of coffee in the cold morning.If you like him I suggest picking up the book.

Kinda.Where I did enjoy the story a lot as a whole I did have some annoyance with Opal, mostly, and a bit from Jasper. Opal could be a bit much and how she acted towards Arthur made my blood boil sometimes. As for Jasper. How he treated Opal sometimes annoyed me. Also this whole book felt like a NA/YA novel. For these people to be 26/27 and acting like they fresh out the womb... it was annoying. Beyond that, the story was... so so good. Despite how I felt about Opal as a person I did cheer for her and Arthur a good chunk of the time. It was magical and gothic. It showed the ugly side of history. It showed how people are disgusting monsters when it comes to ownership and land. I really really do recommend this book.

I think people of the Bandwagon Syndrome on there and I am not about that life.I had such high hopes for The September House. What I got was a wanna be Amityville House mixed in with daddy issues. Carissa needs to pick a damn problem and stick with just that one. This book could have been 100-150 pages shorter. She repeated so much shit over and over and over again. It was like some kid trying to hit the word count for an essay. Carissa threw so much shit into the pot and nothing blended together. From this family issue to the house. I was give so little for majority of the book and not in a good way. A good mystery would want me to WANT more but also savor what I am reading. I just wanted to get the book over with. Another this is how things didn't make sense AND it was never fucking answered. Why did Katherine give a shit about her not talking to her father for a while when in the book it was clear she didn't like him. They hadn't talked for a while beforehand too. Why even put that there? Answer, it wasn't needed. Carissa needed a damn excuse for Katherine to come back home. Also what the fuck was that ending? I get reading is for fun... but that doesn't excuse the shitty writing. The plot holes. The mostly shitty characters. At this point there needs to be reading levels stamped in these books because I am so over the shitty books being pumped so hard.

A cute and fun way to not only learn shapes but to learn of a different culture. I also really like the words and definitions in the back to really help the kids. I wasn't the biggest fan of the art but it was still cute in the end.

Yeah, she does this about NOT wanting a baby. Look, I don't want kids of my own but you just did way too damn much. I don't know how many times in each chapter you have to freaking remind the damn reader you don't want kids. WE FREAKING GET IT. She clearly had options. It was RIGHT THERE and you decided to let her keep it and just... drag on and on and on about it.Besides that we had two women back in the day who didn't want to be married to men, which we all can understand. They were more bearable. Hell I always looked forward to their chapters.In the end the concept of the story could have been SO GOOD if she would have dialed the MC back.

I didn't like Pa and I took a huge problem with the mom taking him over there so much that he knew him well. But they explained some thing on what happened after the beginning. There were times when I was a bit confused but it all smoothed out as I read more. For horror? I am rating it a bit high because I was scared to go to bed a bit. That is a win in my book!

The problems I had was the rape of Hayden I mean I had them everywhere else but the other one made more sense in the story. Also was a bit ticked that Hayden wasn't end game and he turned out to be crazy.
