The concept drew me in and it was an okay story. I liked the mystery and I felt a bit creeped out but I didn't care for the ending and I didn't care for how the story was executed. The story dragged a bit in places. All in all I would say it is worth a read.

Don't even get me started on the paparazzi. I seriously think laws shouldn't protect them. If they get hurt or their stuff gets trashed that is their problem and their fault. And society back in those days, what trashy people. Nosey good for nothing trash. People demanding to know more about her life, like they have some fucking say. You people are what fed those paparazzi and people like Ryan and Matt and Diane. Joan Rivers, never rest her soul, is also in that list people who were never worth the time.I am so sorry Britney had to fucking go through this. How grown ass fucking humans couldn't act with humanity. I am not Britney and I wish nothing but the worse on these people. As for the book, it was well done and am so glad she was able to share this all with us.

It was a lovely book and there are comparisons with the book and the movie but book Howl is so much more different than movie Howl. I would much rather movie Howl, he just seemed more of a gentleman than book Howl could ever be. It still held that magical presence and I enjoyed it. Sophie is a kick in the book as well as in the movie. I would recommend giving this a go!

I will start off with the good. I liked the setting. I could see where the story was at and the place it was. Sometimes the characters were really good. It was a quick read. The story had promise.Now for the bad. Where the describing of the place was good the characters were... 2 dimensional. There wasn't much for us to really grasp on to and have a connection. Though it was quick read it was a hard one. Not only for the cringe of some characters and scenes but because of how the story was written. I do get that Kelley wanted to give when doing those scenes of things happening back to back but I think some time studying how those are done would have done the story justice. With that being said I liked the premise of the story. The concept of it all was interesting. I think if Kelley took the time to study more of the writings from people in the genre she is writing about it could do some wonders.

For this novel though, there were times I was just kind of confused. The magical part seemed to have appeared a bit out of no where. There was nothing leading up to it being introduced. Other than that I liked the story well enough. Screw cults, about the nicest thing I could possibly ever say. If you are looking for a quick and little odd read I suggest giving this book a try!

Where to start with this book. I won't lie. I love the story but I HATED the characters, well not all but Siena and Cameron the most... mostly Cameron. She gave off “ALL MEN ARE ASSHOLES AND NONE OF THEM COULD REMOTELY BE GOOD.” Did she treat Isaac nicely? Barely. Cam was the one to make a possible 5 star book into a 3.That being said I still have no clue on what the fuck Emmett did. Honest to God. I don't know if I missed it or if she just didn't say it. You know how they say men shouldn't write women? I am going to say S.A. shouldn't or at least not Lesbians because the guys were pretty good in this book. Besides the limp dick characters I adored the story. If I was judging just on the story the book would be about a 5 if not a 5. It felt kind of like Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer in the sense of being in a SciFi bubble. the time being a mess is GREAT. Sad that Isaac had to die but what happened to him in general was GREAT. The ever changing forest to fuck with them was GREAT. I just honestly love the story. Would I read the second book? Most likely. I just hope she does better with her characters.Edit: Lowered the rating since finding an answer to my question.

I am not sure how I would rate this given that I have learned I don't like the subject of this.... whole book. The whole Dom/Sub is fine if you still have free freaking will at the end of the day. This is just borderline rapey to me and I can't. Even though the two main characters are good to each other it is just the disgusting beginning that left me feeling... like I needed to soak in freaking acid. As for the writing, I don't expect much... not with these type of books and I was proven right. They story was just tainted but it was so/so. I know I have another one of her books to read but I think I am just not going to give it a go since I am not liking her content.

What can I say about this book? Historically? Yeah Chris got that right... even down to saying the N word, I suppose. If you are triggered by it I suggest you don't read this because they say it a lot. Do you like werewolves? Find a different book. You will hear the N word more than you will read about the werewolves. The story was just so... draggy. I wanted to fear the werewolf but nah what we got was a long story of nothing. Also the wife? Didn't like her much. Hell most of these people I didn't like. This was just a disappointment.

The horror she brings is decent, nothing horrible. I am not big on gore but it seemed to line up. I knew some guy was suppose to be there and it basically turned into a horror spicy romance book. Not mad about it, Gideon sounds hot as hell... given his craziness. In the end what really rated the story low was 1. How boring it was for a good chunk of the book. It was basic trash. Nothing stood out. Nothing really held my grasp. It got really good towards the end and that's about it. 2. The ending. It could have really gone a great way and it just fell flat.So basically it is like sex with a hot guy and you think it is going to be great but in reality it it is shitty for play and 5 seconds of actually shitty intercourse.

When I first started into the book I will admit the MC was annoying as hell then the story wasn't really connecting but the more I read the more I realized the message of it all. How generational curses can kill a family until someone stops it. This retelling took a Mexican mythology and used it to master a really good message. THOUGH I do have one problem with all of that. It seemed randomly put. We get the very start of the curse only for it to not start till 94 years later? That is the major issue I have with it all.
