Anna did kinda rub me the wrong way but I think that just comes with her being a child and not knowing her own wrong doings, but she learns a valuable lesson and she seems grateful for the lesson. All in all it was a good little book to read.

First thing I want to say is if Steven would find a better editor it would be a good story, or at least decent. The writing alone was just... not the best. For example, how he said someone was sitting but they were also rolling around? That part could have been TERRIFYING if I wasn't drawn out of my zone of focus. Again, with the right editor this could have gone from a 2 to at least a 4.

Something came up and I wanted to watch the movie once again, hadn't in YEARS, but then decided to read the book first. I had never done so before so I was eager to get into it. What I like about the book is how they make it feel whimsical in a way. Kind of like you are on a high and want to spin around with the fairies. It was very much like a modern retelling of a Shakespeare play. I also like when the story finally got around to the sisters. The whole book could have been a bit shorter if the author did spend time on a lot of nonsense. I know it was being told from one of the guys POV and all of that but like... it dragged. But it was poetic in a way. Though... maybe not from... a teenage boy POV.I get parenting is hard, but if you are so far stuck up your ass where you can't see where you are hurting your kids... well YOU are a problem. Did I like the movie or book better? Eeehh I think I like them in their own way. The movie was straight to the point more so than the book.Also Trip is a dick. A good punch to the throat could make me feel a bit better.

Being the big age I am and have worked in a daycare as well I have watched the movie and a good portion of the adaptions as well. No matter how many times I have watched, and now read, this book I am still kind of lost. Not that it is a bad thing, some best adventures happen when you are.

I enjoyed it a good bit. I like the atmosphere around the story. I love the way it was told through investigations, articles, books, etc. I had to make sure I finished it before bed.As for how it compares to the OG movie (I don't remember jack from the 2nd one or the remake which sucks because from how the book ended and in general how the book was told... it could have been a whole series!) is they had very key moments. Somethings were changed, like the ending and everything that lead to it. And they missed out on like a whole part of the book which just... boggles my mind.As for the reason it is a 3.56 and not 4 or higher is because of a couple things. Like how they described Carrie to be on the bigger side but yet on the covers and in the movie is skinny. I have choice words for it. I also rated it lower in terms of horror and fantasy. Carrie is a good thriller/paranormal/supernatural book. Unless you scar so so sssooo easily. Either way I would def recommend this book, it is one of SK's better reads.

I think there should have been a read through and an editor. There was a lot of information up front with the characters and then there were things being explained that shouldn't need to have been. It read more like an essay in the beginning. For a 14 year old there was a lot of... sexual things being said. It was a bit weird and made me feel uncomfortable.All in all a little spit and scrubbing could have brought this book to a whole new light. The base and what the story is underneath all of that could have been brought up some stars.

She was nothing but a BRAT. A horrid creature, if you will. It is set in, what I believe is, the 50s so of course things were drastically different but this is ridiculous. There were something I was okayish about. Like Ramona did get punished but honestly... it could have been a bit sterner. It seemed like Ramona never learned her lesson because people were way too soft on the brat. Another thing that bothered me was how Beezus had to 1. somewhat raise Ramona. 2. Was told to basically suck it up because the fucking demon child was sooo young. 3. Ramona still got shit even when she didn't deserve it.We need to normalize hating siblings. Who fucking care if she is blood? Second the stupid as fuck aunt who got Ramona a present so she didn't feel left out? After all the shit she did? How trash. If you do this you are horrible. It is equivalent to those HORRIBLE parents who sit back like fucking idiots and watch their demon child blow out someone's birthday candles before them, or hell even at all. Then just laugh. Crawl in a hole and NEVER come back out.
