My students (12 years and older) love this book! I can totally see why. It's a thrilling book especially for teens!
(It just wasn't for me tbh). I do have to say I would definitely keep recommending this book to my students.
Review for the trilogy:
This series is about a teenage girl who happens to stumble into a parallel universe where people mistakenly assume she is her alternate, genius, self. The life of the genius is in danger. These books are great short reads, they are full of action and are very fast paced. They keep the reader hooked.
The characters are quirky. I ADORE them. I seriously did not think I would love these characters as much as I do now after finishing the third book. The story is compelling and the writing by the author is fantastic and surely whimsical at points.
I loved the romance between Laney and Noah so much. Star crossed lovers. Their romance definitely adds up to the amazing story it already was. As a reader you are rooting for them.
This series is great for readers who are looking for a fast paced, action packed, romantic, quirky and still want substance to their story. This series was more than just romance or action. It had a layer of trust and friendship which is a beautiful thing to discover while reading.
In this book the reader follows high school student Adelyn. Adelyn is just your typical teenage girl. She has drama, she is feisty and she sure as hell is very curious. While on vacation in Florida with her parents, Adelyn finds a mirror. She steals it and takes the mirror back home, even though the guide has explicitly said to leave behind all the items they find.
Obviously, strange things are going to happen with Adelyn and the mirror she stole. The mirror is magical: when Adelyn looks in the mirror she sees herself, but more beautiful. She has no [ugly] scar on her chin. Adelyn wants to keep looking in the mirror, because she's completely blown away by the magical powers it possesses. Alas, the mirror isn't good at all. It is possessed by a witch, Muma. The mirror starts changing Adelyn's appearances: her hair turns white, she starts talking in a strange accent, she never spoke with. All signs of possession. Adelyn wants people to believe her, but it's hard for the outside world to believe in such a paranormal activity.
The book is fast paced and quite creepy to read. I had GOOSEBUMPS reading a specific scene about spiders. (I suffer from Arachnophobia, so I was shuddering to the bone, ew). There is some strong language usage in the book itself, but it actually really fits the story and the part where it's used. I really enjoyed the book, it was well written and it definitely sucked me in. The part I liked least was the ending, I expected a tad more. Overall, it was a solid creepy story!

The Twin Stars is the first installment in the Coseema series. And what a pleasant ride this book was.
It definitely was a rollercoaster ride. Imagine being on a nice, easy ride at the start and then plummeting to the depth, multiple times in a row. IT WAS EMOTIONAL, okay.
This story was very well written by the author. She takes her time to swiftly introduce the reader to the characters and to the world she has created. The world is quite complex in my opinion, very nicely executed though. It has a finesse to it that a lot of authors miss when creating a new universe.
The main character deals with OCD and anxiety and I really, really love that the author executed this so well. As a person who suffers from anxiety it was nice to read about it in a main character. I could really relate with the main character which made me love the even book more. (we need more OCD/anxiety reps in books and not just in side characters, but in main ones).
So many plot twists in this book. It really keeps the reader on the edge of his/her/their seat. The last twist definitely hints towards a second book! Excited!!!
This story was exciting, it was gripping and I personally can't get enough of the characters and the story. I cannot wait for the next installment.
First of all a big thanks to the author sent me a digital copy of this book! My review is 100% honest.
This story is breathtaking! The author surely knows how to write beautifully.
The imagination that has gone into this work is incredible! It's a very whimsical story in my opinon and very well written.
It may seem like the story itself isn't unique. It does have a few traits of other classic fantasy stories, but after indulging yourself into the story, you find that the author did something unique to let the story stand out!
I adored, ADORED, the plot in this story! It was well worked out and it was really noticeable that the author planned out the story really well! This storyline could lead up to many more books!
Each chapter has its own character's point of view. This really helped me to understand the characters more and get to learn them better! The author did really well with representing the inner turmoil the characters are faced with. It was wonderful to read about. I loved the characters!
I highly recommend this book! Don't give up reading it, it's so worth it. The beginning is a bit tough, because of the pretty long character introduction. But after that part, it's a wonderful story with potential for more books in the series!
4,5 stars! :)
Yassss. A middle grade which was fantastic! Great writing, great and loveable characters: we need more of this! :D
The reader follows the brave blue-haired girl named Maya Loop. Maya lives in Baltimore with her grandfather after her mother leaves for work in Afghanistan. She didn't want to leave her old life behind, but she had to, and living in Baltimore definitely changed her life fore good.
Landions (aliens) want to eliminate all human beings on planet earth. They only need one last piece to finish their quest: the last piece from a water clock. Maya is the chosen one in this book and she has to save mankind. She and her grandmother have special powers, but since her grandmother is gone, Maya is literally the only one left to save them all.
I loved, loved, loved the Maya's vibes: her blue hair, her fierce character, her attitude. She can be a role model for many eleven year old's. This book deals with time travel, but it is condoned in such a way that it is not confusing in any way.
I personally also liked that the author used the story to learn the young readers a lesson about the mishaps humankind made!
The story is fast-paced, it contains humor, action, adventure and a lot of creativity with a lot of strangeness. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to any young reader (ages 7 and up) to read this book. It's amazing.

Recensie komt eraan!
Ik wilde het boek eerst vier sterren geven, maar ik vond sommige dingen toch wat storend, dus ik heb mijn rating verlaagd naar 3,5 sterren.
Oh, how I wanted to love this so so much, but I couldn't. It was still a decent story, it just wasn't the right time for me to read this.
It definitely had everything I wanted: pirates, adventure, some sadness (my guilty pleasure in books is sadness, I know, weird).
Why did the book fell flat for me? Because of the romance. I expected a badass story with less romance than it had now. I felt like our main character spent most of the time looking at her love interest instead of doing awesome stuff. She had so much potential and it feels like she was mostly written in the story for her to fall in love. I don't really feel like pirates which are tough and harsh fall in love in a mushy, soft way. The romance definitely had the overhand at points in which I did not care for the story at anymore. It moved too slow and too much of the details went in describing our love interest. I'd rather see more detail in world building or any other epic battle scene or something!
Overall the story was decent, but I wanted more. I was curious to see how the story would develop and end.
Again, I liked the book, it just wasn't what I expected going into it. :p

This was my first Agatha Christie book and I was intrigued! This was great.
Review coming very soon. I have to gather my thoughts and write them out.
Yassss, a worthy sequel to the first installment! :D
I really enjoyed reading this and I really like the characters Lilly and Quincey! (And that says a lot since I usually dislike the main characters in a book xD). This book definitely doesn't have the famous ‘second-book-syndrome', which is great and refreshing to see. ;)
I really enjoyed where the book picked up and how we got to join Lilly and Quincey on their quest where they meet new allies (and foes). Again, it's a story full of banter between the characters which leads to hilarious conversations. I was immediatly sucked back in the world. Nick's writing style is really pleasant and I could read it forever.
I definitely recommend this book (after you've read the first one, please do, you won't regret it!) Be warned though, it could get a bit creepy (but that's so well done).
These short stories were it. They were dark and disturbing, just as advertised!
It was easy to read this book since it is a collection of short stories. As someone who travels a lot by train it is great to read the shorter stories during the shorter rides, since I actually finish a story then! (instead of rushing to finish a chapter before I reach my stop xd).
I loved how original the stories were. Literally all of them were intriguing and pretty dark to read. It kept me on the edge of my seat and I am here for it!
With this collection of dark short stories comes a trigger/content warning. I advise you strongly to check this first before reading this book. However, I do HIGHLY recommend this collection to anyone who is interested in dark, short stories.

I am slowly falling into the Agatha Christie well. I AM LOVING THESE BOOKS SO MUCH. Should've read them sooner xD.
Game of Thrones meets The Witcher and Interview with the Vampire and created this bad ass of a story. HOLY FUDGERY FUDGE. This book was everything I hoped for and more. I loved, no, I ADORED, the world and the characters. The story was so long, but it was so so worth it. I enjoyed every single page and I can't wait for the next book.
Mister Kristoff, you've done it again. A masterpiece.
This book broke me. I finished it ten minutes ago and I'm still ugly crying.
It was beautiful, hopeful, scary and so emotional. All at the same time.
I can only say what a beautiful soul Zach must have been. And I wish all the strength to his family and friends
Maybe I will actually continue with the series now! xD
I still really, really like this chonky book.
