Definitely ‘enjoyed' this one more than Romeo and Juliet. I am a sucker for a good tragedy.
Een heel goed boek, alhoewel ik soms denk dat het ook in minder pagina's verteld had kunnen worden
I did it!!! I finished this beast of a book.
It definitely was a good read, quite scary at points! It made me feel uneasy, like I wasn't alone in the room.
This book has never been my favourite installment. However, I love, love the dynamic between Shasta and Aravis and the writing style/ use of words. It's beautiful. The setting is good. I liked the desert vibe this book gave me. It's quite dark for a middle grade book, since it can be a bit graphic (especially during battles), but it still is a good book for their ages. This is the first installment where I never can fully immerse myself in the story in contrary to the other installments in which I am always fully immersed in the stories. (maybe it has to do with my feelings of nostalgia, since I only read a few installments when I was young).
2,75 stars.
It was just another book with a lot of tropes. I've read this kind of story a million times before.
YAssssss, so much action! And Nico being a little shit at first, but that's totally understandable after what happened in the Titan's curse. I love Nico's character anyway, so it is always a pleasure to see his character in the book.
This book is fast paced and it has a LOT of build up towards the final book in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. So many things are happening all at once.
I love that we get to know Rachel Dare better and better, she's a great character and I'm happy to see more of her again :)
I LOVED this book, obviously. I absolutely adored the demigods in this one. Their friendship is growing with each book and I mean, their group is the definition of Friendship goals. (at least, for as long as this series continues, lol)
Enjoyed it. Disliked Celaena in the beginning, but started to like her towards the end of the book. LOVE Dorian though :3
Cannot wait to read book 2.
This was such a lovely boooook! ❤️
I love Anne, I love the atmosphere, I love everything
Started reading this whilst on holiday in Scotland. I cried whilst reading the last 100 pages when I flew back home to the Netherlands. This book was so beautiful, so raw and so well written.
Reread 2020: loving it as much as I used to <3. Every single time when I read this book and I get to the part with Tom Riddle I can see the actor Christian Coulson and I just can't hate Tom then. >.>
While later on I absolutely dislike Tom Riddle, but he really does make an interesting character.
Reread 2017: 5 stars ofcourse. time for PoA
Vroeger was dit een van mijn favoriete delen! Wat vond ik dit een spannend boek toen. Heerlijk.
I just found a new all-time favourite! I seriously loved every part of this book! It was quirky, it was a bit sad, it was happy. I love Anne Shirley and my, oh, my, do I love Gilbert Blythe. ;-; ♥
On to the next one! ♥
TRIGGER WARNING: suicide attempts, cutting, explicit scenes.
REREAD 2021: I AM SO SAAAAAAAAAAD
