A great end to Gio and B. I know there are more books, but I am happy with the story these 4 books gave me. I will be looking for other books by this author though.
"We have both walked black paths, lady. Don't think mine leads back into the light. Of all those that tried to guide me, of my father, of the whispers from the thorn bush, of Corion's evil council, the darkest voice was ever mine."
This book was AMAZING. Yes, there were bloody times. There were points where I was wondering what the FUCK. But at the end of this, I nearly cried. I didn't want it to be over. I was left wanting more from Jorg. But, he had no more left to give me. I love Jorg. Jorg frightens me. Jorg is the worst person. I need more Jorg!
There wasn't anything particularly stunning about this book, but it wasn't particularly bad. It was okay. It kept me engaged enough to read it all the way though, albeit, in the middle I am pretty sure I did some skimming. I liked how the romance between St. John and Sarah started, they were both guarded and uneasy around each other. There was no trust, but they went very quickly from that to being intimate, which is not believable for me. Especially since he believes her guilty of a crime, and is simply there to get his property.
Clarissa was a cute child, and I like the uncertainty she added to St. John and Sarah's relationship. Eliza and the step mom were easy to dislike, and the big betrayal, which I suppose was not so big, was kind of expected. Granted, it was not done by the party I thought was responsible, but then said responsible party admits it all to Sarah, which makes zero sense to me. I feel if maybe there was more development in the romance between Sarah and St. John I may have enjoyed this book a little more.

Well, I chose this book because it was short, and it seemed like a fantasy, not a romance. I have been reading a lot of romances lately, and thought I could use a little break from all the “slamming needs” and “slanting mouths to deepen kisses.”
I am not sure if there was any romance in this, it just felt like that was the direction that was being taken between Zel and Terrwyn. And seeing as how Zel decided to trust Terrwyn with his people's secret, their legacy, after knowing her for only 5 seconds, I was getting a little aggravated with this book. Zel did threaten to basically chase her through bowels of hell if she ever told a soul, but I feel like there was a lot of trust going back and forth for people who just met. Under very bizarre circumstances. This all before the book was halfway over, which, for a 150 page book, took me nearly a whole day. That is a LOOOOOONG time for me, so obviously I was just not into the story that much. I think there was some potential, but after the instant trust, and Terrwyn being a little more worried about how attracted she is to Zel than her rescue mission, I had to give up.
I think I would have enjoyed this book more had I read the Guardian series first, however not a bad start to this series. I was weirded out by the orgy scene, but I simply skipped over it. I keep managing to find books with all kinds of kink, without even trying.
I kept trying to read this book between others, and I just cannot get into the story. dnf.
3.5 Stars This book has redeemed Adam as alpha, and as Mercys husband. Thank you! The last book when he let Christy walk all over Mercy really annoyed me, so it took me a long time to come around to reading this book. Which I only did because [b:Silence Fallen 30687916 Silence Fallen (Mercy Thompson, #10) Patricia Briggs https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1468500884s/30687916.jpg 44701525] is waiting for me in my arcs, so yay. Mercy needs to have some kind of flaw though, I feel like she is becoming too.... too perfect. She always has everyones back, even if she should hold some kind of grudge. I was left with many questions regarding the Marrok and the Pack dynamics. I was wondering why he didnt make an appearance at the end of this book, but maybe that will be addressed in a future installment? Are they on their own now? As much as I am enjoying these books, I find that I am comparing them to other UF series, and they arent holding up as well. I feel like there is a lot of filler, and I want more action, and I dont think Mercy can handle more fight scenes.

Unfortunately this has too much horse-stuff in it for me to enjoy. Also, mun? You mun? The first time I saw it I thought it was a typo, but the second time I... it must be something wrong with the arc because it showed up as To Take a Wild Lady instead of To Tame, and yeah. Maybe if I was super into horse riding, horse jumping, horse anything then I would be able to overlook it and keep reading, but I am not. Next!
This was so cute and cheesy and I loved every moment! I definitely suggest it if you have a few hours to spare.

This was fun, and completely out in left field for me. I don't typically like westerns, or anything set in this kind of stage, but I took a chance because I like JL, and I figured if I didnt like it I could move on. I liked how Cassie “meddled” with everyone's personal affairs, but really all she was doing was helping out and not everyone likes being helped. I thought this book was a lot of fun!
I wanted to read this to get a feel for the authors writing style. I am just going to hioe its not usually this bad. Julia wanted to sleep with Duncan after knowing him for 1 hour because he helped her out and he decided that was enough to make her dear to him?

This was a free book I found through the Shameless Book Club on facebook, so I knew it was going to be a little smutty. That was fine with me, I am currently looking for books that are more fluffy and less serious anyways. This book was kind of cute, I don't know how I feel about Asher... He is a strange character. One moment he is possessive and extremely asshole-y, and the next he thinks that by being cute he can get away with it, and November lets him. Now, I am not saying that he was all bad, or that she was a total pushover. But this is definitely the kind of book where there is a dominant male character, and the female is submissive, but not in a bdsm sort of way. He was a very alpha male, and some people really like that. I like it to be more equal.
There are a few grammatical errors and spelling errors..... That doesnt usually bother me, but “This's i” was there instead of “this is” and..... that just seems like... how?!
Pout pout!!
Very cute, just read this to my 2 month old son. Not much to say there, it's colorful and fun.
I really do not like when the hero of the story says he will take his wife by force. REALLY?! WHO likes that? Granted, he never did. But, still, I do not like the threat. It is stupid. I also didnt like how quickly Juliana forgave her brothers for having Rhys impressed. Seriously? I know its family, but they should earn back that forgiveness, not just say it and then boom, forgiven. And what a scumbag the older brother was! Darcy was SUCH an asshole! I would have cut him out of my life. But alas, it was not my story to tell.
As good as the first book!!! I love when characters have dark looming pasts. I was NOT expecting Lo's. Which made this even better.
UMMM, well what to say about this book. I dont know. It was odd. I dont know why I finished it. I liked the characters mostly, but the hero in this one... was weird. He kept having weird bouts of “I am a savage”, “no I can control what I do” which left me feeling like, UHHHHHHH okay? We can all control what we do buddy. Just.. weirdness. I should have put it down. But I didnt.
It was OK, I just felt it was a little long for a historical romance. I was looking for a light read and this is my first Kleypas novel. I also enjoy the twins humor and hijinks.
Wtf was that? I liked the overall premise, but wtf at that ending. A few issues I also have (possible spoilers)
1. No condom after only knowing said person a few days? Sorry that's an absolute PASS for me.
OMG!!! That was a surprising read, can't wait to see what the rest of these books have in store.
I love historical romances! This one was a hit for me because of the slow building romance. I hate all that instalove bs. This was a fun Saturday morning read to break up all the epic fantasy I've been reading, and maybe give me a break from pokemon go.
Super cute, super quick story! I even managed to laugh. It got a little cheesy at the end, but isnt that why we read HR?
Not a terribly in depth book, but it was a fun quick read for me. I don't know that I would recommend it to anyone unless they were bored. I was curious, and the abs on the cover were calling my name. I do love a good set of abs
I love the way IA writes their romances. This is my second series with them, and I cant wait to read more of this series. I really like the world they have built, and I really like Sean and Dina. This was a fun book to read while I was having a few stressful days.
