Ophelia is a reader. She can read the past of an object just by touching it. She keeps to herself, and she has no interest in starting a family. She just wants to be left alone.
Although arranged marriages are quite common, Ophelia has managed to dodge that bullet more than once. When she is told she will marry a man from the Pole, she thinks she can get out of this one too.
Accompanied by her aunt, she is taken to the Pole to prepare for her upcoming marriage. She only has until the summer to find a way out. That would be easier if people would stop trying to kill her.
I loved this! The characters are fantastic. The different types of magic are fascinating, and there's so much intrigue! I will definitely continue this series.
I thought this was very atmospheric. It was also very slow. I didn't really care about the characters. It didn't hold my interest, and with it being so short, I should have been able to finish it quickly. But, since it was so slow, I just kept putting it aside. This just wasn't for me.

Every town has a witchling. They live in the House of the Dead. They are healers, midwives, and they carry the dead to the underworld. They have laws. They cannot love, they cannot kill, and they cannot have a family.
Haley was seven when her death magic manifested. Her mother took her to the House of the Dead and left her there. She is no longer a daughter. She is the witchling's girl.
I loved this. The writing style is fantastic. I was fascinated by the magic. I was hooked from the start. There were a couple of slow spots, but other than that, it was great. And the cover is gorgeous!

This book was great right from the start. I loved it. The characters in this book are fantastic. The magic is complex. There are so many plot twists that I was wishing it was even longer than 672 pages.
The story follows Ren, orphan/con artist. Her latest and most ambitious con is to become Alta Renata and join the ranks of the rich and elite. She has plans to con her way into the wealthy Traementis family and let them support her. It will be hard to keep up her ruse with all the dark magic popping up in the city. Not to mention her past dogging her every step.
Great start to a new series. I can't wait for the next one.

I wasn't really sure if I wanted to read this one or not. I'm not a romance fan, and it didn't really sound like something I would like. I decided to try it because it's the group read for a readathon that I'm participating in. I was amazed by how much I loved it! I listened to the audiobook, and the narrator is fantastic. This one got me in the feels. I will have to read more by this author.
I loved this. A space opera with an all female flight crew? I'm in.
Persephone Station is a small out of the way planet. So why would a big corporation like Serrao-Orlov want to set up there? Angel and her crew are about to find out since Rosie, the local crime boss has hired them for a very important job.
I loved the story, and I loved the characters. Hopefully this will be a series. I would especially like to read more about the Emissaries. They are very interesting to me.

The skies above Skane tell a story. Green is good. Blue means a heavy snow storm or blizzard. Red is sending the people of Skane a warning. The last red sky was seventeen years ago. The plague came then. Osa was born, but her mother didn't survive.
When the sky turns red this time, Osa is going to find a way to stop it. She will need the help of the Goddess.
I loved this book. The wintry setting and atmosphere were amazing. I loved the characters. Osa is a new favorite. I will definitely read more by this author.
Elodie hates her life. She loves her mother and siblings, but hates her horrible stepfather. He treats her bad just because she's not his. No matter what she does, it's wrong or not enough.
Then, one day he tells her that he got her a job as a maid far away. Elodie is scared and excited. She will finally be free.
When she gets there, she finds out that she will be a maid for a witch. Anything has to be better than her old life right?
This was great! So atmospheric. I love Elodie and Aleida. I am looking forward to the next one.

I really liked this one. I love fantasies set at sea, political intrigue, and minimal romance. This checked all three of those boxes. I loved the characters. Kit is fantastic. I loved the fact that she is the Captain of her own ship which is impressive for a female in this time period. It made me happy every time she stood her ground with the men that looked down on her for being a woman or because she is not from a titled line. She has no desire to get married and do needlepoint, she just wants to sail her ship.
I also loved Grant.
I can't wait to see where this series goes next.
The narrator is great. She made the story even more enjoyable.
