This is the second book I have bought/read about “The Milwaukee Cannibal” Jeffrey Dahmer.
I intend to read the books My Friend Dahmer, The Shrine of Jeffrey Dahmer & other books as well.
There is a Netflix series called Monster: The Story of Jeffrey Dahmer that will be available soon.
My Friend Dahmer is accurate film/book about Jeffrey Dahmer as a teenager.
I've already read a book about Jeffrey Dahmer that was gruesome to read written by Jack Rosewood.
Any book about Jeffrey Dahmer will include very graphic descriptions of rape, murder, mutilation of a still living person(s), the mutilation, cannibalisation of their corpses.
Jeffrey Dahmer had a shrine of the decapitated heads/skulls of his victims, he practiced dark magick.
The author inaccurately & incorrectly says that Richard Kuklinski is the “Unabomber” but Richard Kuklinski is known as “The Iceman” Mafia hitman (there is a book, film & documentary about him)
“The Unabomber” was Ted Kaczynski & he was a victim of the MK Ultra brutalizing psychological experiments programming/torture method of the CIA.
Everyone knows this, a quick Google search would tell you so, it should be edited/corrected in the book. No hate towards the author, it's just inaccurate and incorrect.
Jeffrey Dahmer committed 17 murders, but was only convicted for 15 murders which is a bit strange.
After his trial/convictions for at least 15 of his 17 murders, he was in solitary confinement for his own safety due to be intensely hated by other inmates/convicts in the prison.
He was attacked more than once, the inmates/convicts were disgusted by his crimes, dark, cruel sense of humour.
He made his food look like his victims, used ketchup to simulate blood which is a prime example of his dark, sick, cruel sense of humour.
He never felt any empathy, remorse for his victims/premeditated crimes, he was unrepentant, he didn't care at all, he may have believed in his way of thinking, that he didn't do anything wrong.
His crimes, behaviour, sense of humour disgusted, disturbed the inmates/convicts in the prison.
While cleaning toilets he was attacked/murdered by a convicted schizophrenic murderer who bludgeoned, beat up Jeffrey Dahmer, he didn't fight back and defend himself, he was taken to hospital and he died a hour later.
He was cremated, his ashes were shared by his parents Joyce & Lionel Dahmer.
His brother David has never publicly talked about his brother Jeffrey Dahmer, he doesn't want to be associated with him and the horrific, disgusting, disturbing crimes he committed.
He even changed his surname, to further distance himself from any association with him.
For a shy/reserved and mild mannered person, he hid his very dark, sick, perverse & disturbing fantasies from everyone he was friends including his family.
They had no idea until it was too late, they were horrified by the disturbing, disgusting things he did to young men & young boys.
He lacked the social skills required to ever have any meaningful or lasting friendship/relationship.
He had difficulty in relating to other people, he attempted to make friends but he was always considered to be weird, a freak, someone that was a outcast, a loner, that was ridiculed for being weird or different.
On the surface to me he always seemed like a shy, introverted person with social anxiety, but maybe he sometimes pretended to be like that to lure people into a false sense of security to gain their trust as well.
I believe this was one of the reasons, that he felt, isolated, alienated, lonely, frustrated, angry and the best way for him to express the way he thought or felt was his violent, dark, sick fantasies, his premeditated crimes. He spent a lot of time by himself, which enabled him to cultivate his fantasies, what turned him on, to perfect his modus operandi, enact his fantasies in real life, that horrified, disgusted and anguished humanity.
They had no idea of the extent of his depravity, of what he was really capable of, the fact that he acted so normal and ordinary is very disturbing.
The types of sick, very vivid fantasies he had took a lot of time to cultivate over time, until he couldn't take it anymore, just having a fantasy wasn't enough, he wanted to act on his disturbing impulses & sick fantasies.
Some of the victims of Jeffrey Dahmer had their bones ground up & scattered behind the house he was living in at the time, during his murderous rampage, i'm not sure if he did that to all of his victims or only some of them.
So there would be no trace of them left, except tiny, microscopic ground up bone fragments.
Some bone fragments were found, during a forensic/police thorough search of the place where Jeffrey Dahmer was living by himself, after his parents abandoned him at the age of 18.
Over time Jeffrey Dahmer became sloppy, he was comfortable in his position of power over young men and boys, he may have believed that people would never discover his secret, dark double he lived, but I also believe that he became tired of killing & wanted to eventually to be caught.
It's always disturbing to me how matter-of-fact he describes what he did to his victims or why he did it, like what he was talking about it was a ordinary conversation whenever he was interviewed about his horrific, sick & disturbing crimes.
His methodology, reasons for what he did & why he did it, his state of mind, the dark, violent fantasies he had since he was a child will always disturb, disgust & fascinate me.
Not everyone is fit to be a parent or actually good at parenting either.
Jeffrey Dahmer's mother Joyce sounds like she is a controlling narcissist, that has Daddy issues, due to her constant need for reassurance, approval, acceptance, being reassured that she is loved, wanted, needed.
Her alcoholic dad didn't spend time with her, or make it obvious that he loved & cared about her, so as a adult she is needy, emotionally dependant on other people.
She felt lonely, abandoned, ignored, neglected while she was growing up which lead to her becoming needy and always seeking reassurance, which some people would describe as being attention-seeking type of behaviour.
So I can see why Jeffrey might act in a similar way, when he grew up in a unstable family dynamic and neither parent seems to be empathetic, both his parents are wrapped up in their own little worlds, distant, emotionally unavailable.
So it would make sense, that he feels alone, unwanted, abandoned and lonely as a child then as a teenager & adult.
Overwhelming loneliness/being a misunderstood loner were the main aspects that lead him to commit the horrific crimes he committed.
He is similar to Dennis Nilsen he was also a necrophile, that murdered men due to being extremely lonely.
His behaviour is related to being isolated, reserved, withdrawn, shy, lonely, a antisocial loner.
Jeffrey Dahmer started drinking alcohol at 11-12 years old and became a alcoholic by the time he was 14 years old.
Things escalated from there, he became a alcoholic, a predator towards children, young men/young underage boys.
He became a alcoholic at 14 years old he was already feeling severe depression and anxiety as a teenager, when he was 15-16 years old and becoming fascinated/obsessed with death, dissecting roadkill/animals, doing experiments on animals/dissecting them.
He wanted to know what they looked like on the inside, how they worked.
His crimes were due to overwhelming loneliness, being a loner, misunderstood or possibly not accepted by other people for being gay, since his dad wouldn't have accepted him for who he was.
His was predatory towards anyone underage or vulnerable, his crimes were sexually motivated sado-sexual crimes.
The victims were innocent they should be treated with respect and remembered.
He could have been successful, happy but instead he was a self-destructive, self-saboteur, he would rather just accept failure & not wanted to be disappointed due to hating disappointment.
His father was also, shy, bullied/tormented and had the intention/desire to start fires and hurt people that tormented him, so in my opinion both his parents contributed to Jeffrey Dahmer becoming the “Milwaukee Cannibal”
The fact that his father had the intention to start fires, hurt people that hurt/bullied him says a lot about inherited genes, behaviour, nature versus nurture.
If one or both parents have a predilection for violence, then the child is more likely to grow up to become violent themself, especially when they grown up in a unstable/unhappy home environment, so the child spends all their time alone or with their siblings to avoid violence, conflict.
A child would retreat into their own fantasy land, their own private world where they feel safe, so I can understand how overtime, the more a child is spending in their fantasy world in their mind, the more detached from reality they become, until it develops into delusions, mental illness.
I think part of the problem during his childhood, the way he was raised was due to him being alone a lot, especially when his parents were divorced he was abandoned.
Children have the right to live in a safe environment & live peacefully with/without the influence of their parents in a positive or negative way.
I think even if a serial killer wasn't abused, they are still scarred by something that has happened in their life in the past, that has deeply hurt them a wound that can't be healed, a defining moment that they can't forgotten, some type of injustice, they were wronged, fucked over by someone/something they would want justified revenge for.
It's the reason they feel hatred towards humanity, why they don't feel empathy, why it's easier for them to be a cold-blooded monster.
He was living with his grandma for some time, until they became suspicious and cautious of where he was going, what he was doing while he was living there, eventually they asked him to leave.
Both his parents didn't really have time for him, ignored him most of the time, didn't make a effort as a parent to engage with Jeffrey, ask him how he was, how school was going, simple things like that.
If you suspect something is wrong with your child, why wouldn't you talk to them or ask if they are okay?
Why don't parents seem to do this, they are your child, you are responsible for them, you brought them into the world, you can't just reject, abandon them, treat them like they don't exist, ignore their existence, like some parents do.
He was isolated & spent to much time by himself, which allowed him to develop his imagination, and perverse, sick fantasies that he had and obviously thought about a lot while he was growing up.
Over time he is cultivating his persona, modus operandi, his predatory nature/apex predator instincts to lure, stalk and hunt his prey. Young men/underage boys/boys specifically.
After attempting to go to the college Jeffrey Dahmer dropped out after 3 months, due to his extreme alcoholism, self-sabotage, he then enlisted to be in the US Army, he was stationed in Germany for three years.
However things didn't go well, due to his attitude, behaviour, alcoholism & torture/sexual assault of two soldiers.
One of them is forever scarred/damaged by what he endured, the horrific experience of being tortured/raped by Jeffrey Dahmer.
It's sad that this poor man, suffered & will be forever scarred by what Jeffrey Dahmer did to him.
I think it shows the incompetence of the police at the time Jeffrey Dahmer, was hunting/stalking Milwaukee for potential victims, that they believed him when one of his victims escaped and tried to get help from the police.
It sickens, disgusts & infuriates me, how incompetent, dismissive, wilfully ignorant the police were.
Sadly the victim did not survive, what Jeffrey Dahmer did to them.
If the Police officers even bothered to find out the identity or age of Konerak Sinthasomphone, or looked at the polaroid photos on his wall, looked in his bedroom, they would have seen evidence of hs previous victims.
They would have known that Konerak was only 14 years old and saw the decomposing corpse of one of his victims laying on the floor of his bedroom!
They didn't want to get involved due to Jeffrey Dahmer being gay though which is ridiculous, stupid, insulting to his victims, and absolutely disgusting.
This section of the book, or in any film or series about Jeffrey Dahmer always infuriates me, it's really pisses me off, I can't even imagine what the family members of the victims felt/still feel now about this now.
None of the victims deserved to be drugged with sleeping pills, raped, mutilated, butchered, cannibalized, for any part of them to be preserved in formaldehyde, kept as a macabre trophy on his shrine of death.
All victims of crimes that are still alive & a survivor or including the victims that were horrifically tortured, raped, murdered should be remembered and respected.
It's creepy to me that Jeffrey Dahmer, after being released from prison/having psychological assessments/tests done that he murdered his second victim 24 year Steven Tuomi.
I think it shows the incompetence of the police at the time Jeffrey Dahmer, was hunting/stalking Milwaukee for potential victims, that they believed him when one of his victims escaped and tried to get help from the police.
It sickens, disgusts & infuriates me, how incompetent, dismissive, wilfully ignorant the Milwaukee police were at the time Jeffrey Dahmer's crimes occurred.
Sadly the victim did not survive what Jeffrey Dahmer did to them, none of his victims survived, but one potential victim did escape.
Not all of his victims were gay, but some of his victims were underage.
This section of the book, or in any film or series about Jeffrey Dahmer always infuriates me, it's really pisses me off, I can't even imagine what the family members of the victims felt/still feel now about this now. I can't even imagine, the pain, anger, disgust or feeling of injustice the family members or friends of the victims of Jeffrey Dahmer must of felt at the time, or still feel now.
I think the more you try to prevent a sexual predator, sexual sadist, psychopath from committing crimes, engaging in their fantasies, by conditioning their behaviour, the more they will want to engage in their sick fantasies, predatory, violent sexual behaviour/impulses.
Any psychological assessment, therapy or conditioning of Jeffrey Dahmer's mind did nothing to improve his state of mind, or to stop him from thinking about very dark & disturbing things that he wanted to do.
Even if he wasn't turned on by his fantasies, or what he did to his 17 victims, I think that it was sexually satisfying for him to totally control, dominate, own/possess his victim, consume a part of them so they would be with him forever.
He liked the whole process of, stalking, prowling for his potential victims, drugging, incapacitating them, so they have no control, they can't resist, run away or ever leave.
His crimes, were sexually motivated, they were also motivated by Jeffrey Dahmer feeling extreme loneliness, isolation, he wanted to have friends, companionship, he wanted to be loved.
He liked the process of the rape, butchering/mutilating his victims corpses, documenting it in polaroid photographs (the police found these when they were investigating his apartment)
I think if Jeffrey Dahmer grew up in a normal, stable household, his parents paid attention to him, loved him and spent time with him he, he would still grow up to be who he became, a predatory, sexually motivated, necrophile, cannibal & serial killer.
A lot of women read true crime, to learn what red flags in the behaviour of a man or woman to look out for, pay attention to especially when something feels off about them, something doesn't seem right, or their behaviour, attitude, demeanor doesn't match up with what they say, it's a red flag!
Pay attention to the red flags, the things people don't say, if their intentions seem questionable, or unknown, if they have a violent, unpredictable anger, a darkside that you don't like, if you don't feel comfortable around them, then trust your intuition, and avoid them or cut them out of your life, because you never know they could literally be a serial killer.
A lot of people read true crime to learn what red flags to pay attention to in a the behaviour of men or women. Always trust your intuition, instincts.
I appreciate anyone that reads/likes my book reviews. I always give my honest/authentic opinion :)
Unfortunately I had to edit my review because it was too long, but I hope people still read my book review.
My review is for the eBook.
This Splatterpunk anthology has short stories written by various authors.
This is just my opinion about some Splatterpunk & Extreme horror books, eBooks, I don't think it's always necessary for any short stories, novellas, that are the Splatterpunk & Extreme Horror genre to have themes/scenes of domestic violence, sexism, misogyny, rape or animal torture/abuse & cruelty/murder of animals.
I liked this book more than the woman in black mainly because the pace of the book was a bit quicker, and the plot was creepy. There aren't many books about doctors or surgeons that want to resurrect the dead back to life.
The book is quite short and you could read it in one day, I like the characters the plot and especially the mysterious ending. If you like Frankenstein, or Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde then you'll like this book.
This review will be for a book I borrowed from the library. I saw the film first, I like some things about the film and there are some things I don't like about the film as well.
If you like mystery/horror books and films then you might like the book or the film.
A man named Tom Wallace attends a friendly party, his friends and brother are also there.
Everyone is talking about spiritual things and if thry believe in it or not, until Tom's brother mentions hypnosis and people that have stabbed themselves withblunt objects but didn't feel any pain while hypnotised. None of Tom's friends believe him, but he then decides tl ask people at the party if he can hypnotise them but most of them refuse, until Tom decides to agree to being hynotised.
Tom is very suseptible to hynosis, so it works very well, it works too well and unleashes a psychic awareness he never knew he had before. Afterwards he develops a psychic awareness sometimes called ESP (Extra Sensory Perception) clairvoyance or mediumship skills because he experiences various types of paranormal phenomena it fits into many catergories.
Tom has vivid dreams, can read people's thoughts and desires in their minds, he starts seeing a female ghost or spirit that may or may not have been murdered when they were alive, he has visions and experiences precognition (the knowledge of an event usually something terrible that will happen before it happens) Tom starts to think that his brother did something to him on purpose, while he was hypnotised to make him feel, see and experience this unexplicable paranormal phenomena, he questions his sanity and if he is going insane. Nothing is fully understandable or clear until he talks to him friend who is a psychiatrist but they have knowledge of fringe science (the study of psychic and paranormal phenomena) he clarifies all the things Tom has witnessed or experienced and explain to him that it is not mental illness, but he didn't really have an explanation for the paranormal activity other than telepathy and psychic phenomena.
The rest of the book is about Tome trying to communicate with spirits to gain answers, to try and prevent horrible things happening but sometimes he is too late and there is nothing he can do.
Tom discovers that his neighbour that is married had an affair with his wife's sister, but she found out and murdered her which then led to the discovery of her decomposing corpse in a crawlspace under Tom's house. The wife of the neighbour that had an affair, then decides to try and kill Tom, his wife and son. The plot for the film, has a particular disgusting and disturbing twist, but the disturbing imagery still remains in the book, which I am glad it is in the book, it helps to create a creepy atmosphere.
I had some many pet peeves while reading this book, so it took me a long time to read all of it.
One issue I had with this book, was the way the text on the pages looked.
On some of the pages the text looked like it was written on a old fashioned type writer and the text was very blotchy and difficult to read, whereas the other pages were fine and the text was normal.
The next issue I had with the book, was the way the sentences were very long and written in a disjointed way in which it made the book sometimes a bit difficult to understand or read. There was a lot of boring legal technical jargon that I didn't always understand and it was boring to read about. The information about the police investigation was fine but the courtroom proceedings was really boring and a drag to read about.
Other things about this book that were incredibly annoying was the fact that whenever the author could use the term female to describe one woman that was either a “Ted Bundy groupie” and in love with him or a woman that Ted loved in the past, the would used the term woman instead. For example a “woman” eye witness in court gave a testimony about seeing Ted Bundy at the Chi Omega fraternity house on the evening of the attack of the female students that were sleeping. Why would you say woman when it would make more sense to just say female? This really annoyed me while I was reading this book and kept thinking about why the authors didn't say female instead of woman all the time. This might be a minor issue to some people that want to read this book, but if there is something that occurs in a book that i'm reading that annoys me then I will be bothered by it the whole time, that i'm reading the book.
None of the people that were investigating Ted even themselves believed he wasn't capable of murder, until he was arrested and the evidence that was collected was used to prove Ted whereabouts on certain dates/times. It wasn't until a jury found Theodore Robert Bundy guilty that people took it seriously that hes was in fact capable of murder, rape, kidnapping etc The author and anyone else that either knew or met Ted vastly underestimated him.For some women this mistake would be fatal.
One other thing about this book, which was really annoying was how naive the author was to not anticipate the fact the Ted was guilty and also capable of vile, disturbing disgusting acts of violence towards women that he found attractive. Leading up to the time, that Ted was arrested, tried in court and found guilty of murder on multiple accounts the author still didn't believe that Ted might be found guilty and what he was capable of.
I think the author's opinion of Ted was biased because she was “friends” with him, and they worked together in a crisis clinic to aid people that were suicidal and considering killing themselves. She was however caught up in the facade of Ted's personality and acute ability to deceive people in a nice and pleasant demeanor, so you wouldn't suspect the darker intentions or agenda he was planning and scheming the whole time he was friends with the author Ann Rule. I don't think she even realized that maybe Ted was manipulating her and their friendship, because she was closer to him than most women, except for the women he did love although, I think he lied about his intentions to get married to Meg Anders. Ted Bundy was a pathological liar, he was good at lying, at manipulating people to do what he wanted or he expected them to do. Just because he was nice and polite, or pleasant to women or people in general on the surface it doesn't mean that was his true nature. He was always capable of murder, rape or kidnapping, he also could have stopped anytime that he wanted to but his compulsion controlled him, not the other way round. Whenever he was around one or more women, he felt an uncontrollable urge or compulsion to hurt them.
The chronological order of the book was annoying and all over the place.
For example the author mentioned that Ted was an illegitimate child and his family lied about who his parents were due to being born in the 1946 I think it was, I could be wrong about the date. Ted was brought up to believe who he thought was brought to believe that his grandparents were his parents but he wasn't told about this and he later found out for himself in medical/hospital files. His “grand-dad” was actually his father and his “sister” was actually his mother. During one disturbing incident when Ted was only three years old, Ted was standing outside of his Aunt's bedroom and she woke up to find knives arranged around her head while she was sleeping, and she turned and looked at Ted he just stood there and grinned at her. There was also another incident that involved Ted and a cousin of his, when they went out to the garden shed they found a stash of violent pornography that showed images of violent and sexual violence directed towards women. He was only five years old when this supposedly happened. In his life later on after being arrested and questioned Ted blamed these violent detective magazines (that he was obsessed with) and alcohol as the cause of his violent behavior towards women.
I think it did warp his perception of women and sex but he chose his victims, because they were vulnerable and by themselves. They were all easy targets, they were all easy to manipulate or overpower and take advantage of.
This compulsion took over his life and controlled him. Eventually his compulsion to kill would be triggered by the first woman he ever fell in love with rejecting him. Stephanie Brooks was the first woman that Ted ever loved, but she thought that Ted wasn't ambition or going anywhere in his life so she broke up with Ted. Ted couldn't stand to be humiliated and reject so this triggered him to kill women that looked exactly like her, so he could effectively kill her over and over again. Stephanie meant everything to Ted, she was the first woman that Ted had an intimate relationship with, although sometimes Ted's behavior was very strange such as Ted staring at Stephanie's body while she was sleeping. Ted was arrested for having what was believed to be “burglar kit” in his car, and on one other separate occasion his was stopped by the police but he tried to get away in his car but he was arrested again and lied about where he was going or coming from.
He started his criminal career as a peeping tom, and voyeur by spying on women from outside of their house while they were getting changed, he also stole credit cards and used fake names to obtain more credit cards to be able to afford to buy fancy French cuisine which was his favourite. He also stole other items such as a tv set and anything else that he needed but couldn't afford to buy. It was only after but a direct result of his failed relationship with his first girlfriend Stephanie Brooks that he escalated from petty crime, to coercion, kidnapping and murder. He would stalk potential victims, then use a ruse like he had a broken arm, because he was wearing a sling or cast and “needed help to carry his books to his car” then when no one was looking he would hit them over the had with a crowbar or other blunt object and kidnap them in his car, while they were unconscious. He would take the victims to a secluded area, when he would sexually assault the victims and then strangle them. His crimes were premeditated and vicious vile acts towards women and at least two children. His youngest victim was 12 years old, but I believe he killed a local girl that went missing when he was 15, because he lived in the same general area and not far from where the girl lived, she disappeared and was never seen or heard from again ever..
I was stunned to read that he was treated like a minor celebrity while in prison, because people were aware of who he was, and he liked having power and control due to the legal knowledge he had. There are many young women that have gone missing, in or around the time that Ted was alive, but we will never find out just exactly how many women he killed, so some family will never get answers about if Ted killed them or not, which is devastating to the survivors or family members of the victims that weren't so lucky.
Most of Ted Bundy's crimes took place in the 1970's so I wasn't even born yet and he died via the electric chair on January 24th 1989, two years after I was born.
I liked reading this book, but I would have preferred reading it if it was written but a police detective that was involved in the police investigation.
Most of the book was really interesting, and chapter 49 was the most informative about Ted's personality, motivation, or the way he thinks, but after that chapter the rest of the book was a drag to read and it was a bit boring and repetitive due to the death sentence for Ted being delayed all the time, he was in prison for a few years before he was executed.
The copy that I have of this book, is a pre-owned used copy but it's in relatively good condition, since it was very cheap and I was lucky to find a copy of it. This book is inspired and loosely based on the graphic novel The Crow by James O'Barr.
I haven't read any books by this author before but I was pleasantly surprised, I really like the way the book was written the characters and the plot of the book. I have never read a book about a character that was resurrected and reanimated after they had died before, I really liked the graphic detail that described what it would be like to be dead but then brought back to life for a particular purpose.
There were also references to authors and a particular style of music and goth characters in the book that I appreciated.
This book is about twin brother and sister Benjamin and Lucrese Dubois and their relationship with the main character Jared Poe who is an S&M photographer. There is a serial killer on the hunt in New Orleans where the boom is based and his victims are trans-gendered or transsexual people that are male and female. He believes that they are an abomination and should be wiped off the face of the earth (I don't share this belief and I don't hate or discriminate anyone just for their sexuality) Jordan the Ripper slayer of New Orleans, likes to do experiments on his victims and then murders them once he is finished. However, on one particular evening Jared wakes up to find Benjamin has been murdered and he is covered in his blood, Benjamin was slaughtered and the only suspect is Jared, eventually he pays for this crime with his life.
While the murders are occurring detective Frank Gray is investigating the case and following the crimes until it leads him to the real murderer Jordan.
This is a short book, and you could read it in one day, I really enjoyed reading this book, I like the pace of the plot and characters were interesting and it was well written. I liked how the focus shifts between the characters in the book and how they are all intertwined and eventually all the lose ends are tied and you reach the conclusion. If you liked The Crow graphic novel by James O' Barr then you'll like this book as
well. This is the first crow novel based on James O'Barr's work that I have read but it was really good.
An interesting book This book is about an angel that is stuck in hell and wants to save a human soul so he will be allowed entry into heaven. One of the demonic character was really annoying, since it is a snake so it pronounced everything it said a certain way. This book is like all the other crow book, because the main character isn't resurrected until 100-160 pages into the book, and it t is 237 pages long. This book is about demons in hell that come to earth to pursue a renegade angel that was in hell and escaped to save a hell bound soul that was currently suffering or in pain in some way and would need his help. However his is a liar and cannot be trusted. If you like reading about angels, demons in the human world possessing and tormenting human beings then you will like this book. I liked some of the phrases used in this book such as “summinaries of darkness” and “vessels of inequity” but I forgot what that means.I did like this book, but I wish it was more connected to the original graphic novel it gains inspiration from. All of these books are original stories but don't really relate to the crow much, which is a bit annoying that they are using the name the crow and it is only very loosely connected to James O'Barr's work.
A nightmare on Elm street 4: This film/story and part 5 are my least favourite and they are the least memorable in terms of plot. The way the main characters in the story are killed are memorable, but the plot of this story and part 5 is really bland. I really hate insects so the character that is turned into an insect is really gross, I feel sory for the asthmatic girl, since I briefly sufered from mild asthma when I was younger so I can relate. I wish Freddie used illusions to trick people more often, because it is a creative way to lure someone into thinking they are safe even when they aren't safe.
A nightmare on Elm Street 5: Alice from part 4 returns in this story, with the help of her friends she defeats Freddie again. Freddie Krueger is eternal and will always remain or exist in some form, i'm not sure if he is immortal however, since he does die and return. So long as there are hateful or fearful people in the world, Freddie will be a necessary evil. There cannot be any good without evil, there also cannot be any form of evil in the world without good, it is the balance of the universe in the cosmos, the laws of nature, or karma. The plot for this story is okay, but I personally prefer the first three stories over part 4 and 5. If Freddie was a creative killer and killed the victims in unique or interesting ways not previously mentioned before, then it would be refreshing to read, but it is a bit of a tired concept, that a group of teenagers are plaguedby a menacing and evil killer that unscrupulously murders whoever he wants to kill.
An original story While reading this book, I was wondering what this has to do with the original graphic novel because it doesn't really relate it that much. Although the main character is resurrected it doesn't happen until about half way through the book. William Blessing is one of the main characters he is an expert and obsessed with Edgar Allan Poe the writer and poet from the 18-19th century. At first I found his character a little boring, but one he was murdered and he was resurrected the plot for this character picked up the pace. Mick Prince and the gothiques are a group of friends who are goths and they get the idea from William's protege to break and loot the Poe collection of first edition signed books in William Blessing's library. Mick Prince is a psychopath and a murderer, he would willingly murder anyone for money or if that particular person was a nuisance with a big mouth for example. However things don't go according to plan, after William discovered that he was betrayed by his protege Donald Marquette and the direct result of it is that his wife Amy is beaten and raped and William is murdered by Donald and his friends the Marquis and count Mishka. William is resurrected and allowed by the crow to seek vengeance upon the people that were directly responsible for the rape and beating of his wife and to avenge his own murder. I liked reading the parts of the book about Edgar Allan Poe and his siblings and parents. I wasn't aware that he had any siblings because his family isn't mentioned much in books or in any adaptations about him. If you are a fan of Edgar Allan Poe then you will love this book, because before the start of every chapter there is a quote from Edgar Allan Poe's poems and short stories.
A tragic love story This is one of my favourite books/films, since I am a big fan of Vincent Perez and the crow series of books/graphic novels. The only problem I had with the book is that the name of the character is Ashe Corven but kept changing to Ashe Craven in the book for some reason. I wish the film adaptation followed the plot of the book a bit more and that the ending was the same, I haven't seen the film for awhile so I have forgotten how it ends.
The ending in the film is different to the ending in the book, which is annoying since I love the film.
Some of my favourite scenes in the book/film are when Ashe Corven goes to the
peep-o-rama to kill the first victim Nemo and he says “do you want me baby?” before he kills Nemo, then he gets vengeance for himself and his son Danny since they were in the wrong place at the wrong time and they were both murdered.
I believe that the person who is resurrected whether it is a man or a woman is a martyr for their cause, since they have suffered greatly at the merciless hands of other people that are evil. They are given a second chance to avenge their deaths or murders, for being wronged, so that they will be at peace and finally be able to join their loved ones in the afterlife.I wish there were more books about a variety of subjects and more female characters since there was only one female character in a graphic novel or book in the crow series. Hopefully the crow: wicked prayer is about native americans like the film is. I don't understand why there isn't a book based the film the crow:salvation either.
This is a funny, unique short and swee story to read, if you like quirky, strange characters then you will like this book.
Anders Behring Breivik is a racist fascist terrorist that used bombs to blow up government buildings and pretended to be a security guard to gain access to Utoya island in Norway to masacre teenagers.
He hated the large population of muslims in Norway but then targeted unrelated victims that were teenagers on Utoya island. He wrote a racially opinionated manifesto that can be read online, if you wish to understand his mind and the way he thinks or sees the world.
I will add more to my review once i have read more of the book, but I have seen a documentary about the tragedy/murders.
While growing up Anders was displaying unusual behaviour that was unbearable for his mother Wenshe to deal with, due to not having a positive male role model in his life due to his parents divorce. Anders was very clingy, to the point that he was sleeping in the same bed as his mother and tried to force himself on his mother. He was abusive to his mother and sister and if he was told off he was would just smirk. He didn't make friends easily and would never cry like any normal child would if they hurt themself. His mother repeatedly tried to get him and his sister adopted by the social services, so he had a “weekend family” to look after him as well ashis mother.
He was very clingy and difficult child to care for, he was aggressive in terms of being clingy.
He was very resentful of a female prime minister in Norway at the time Gro Harlem, due to her opinion on free abortions or women being empowered and being treated equally.
My review will be for a book I borrowed from the library.
So far I don't that animals are being used as “test subjects” and an island in the Fillipines is going to be bombed by America. All the animals die, the homes of the innocent local people will be demolished and they have no choice other than to leave and live on another island. While America is testing thermonuclear weaponry via the use of missiles from a submarine a very large ancient creature of unknown origin or species (which would make Godzilla and other creatures similar to him a cryptid, because it's species and known past of the ancient prehistoric creature is unknown)
This true crime book was difficult for me to read, since it made me feel physically sick due to the graphic detail of the murders committed by “the vampire of Sacramento” Richard Trenton Chase.
I will not mention the details of tbe murders due to the disturbing and graphic and disgusting detail of what he did, none of the victims deserved to be killed in the way they were murdered especially the 22 month old baby, it made me feel sick reading about it.
Richard Trenton Chase was a paranoid schizophrenic but sane during the murders he committed, he was a vampire, cannibal, necrophile and killed 6 people including a 22 month old male baby, a pregnant woman, rabbits, a cat that was his pet, dogs that he shot, mutilated and consumed the flesh and blood due to his delusional beliefs that he needed to “consume blood to repair his body” because he believed that he was/had been “poisoned with iodine or mercury” He purchased rabbits and drank their blood, and attempted to inject himself with their blood which lead to him being hospitalised for a few days where he was diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic due to his behaviour and paranoid beliefs. He purchased dogs, hung them up, cut their organs out of the body and partially ate them and drank their blood. He was “eating dog viscera raw”
He used a .22 calibre Luger pistol and knives during the murders and kidnapped the baby after murdering his family, he shot the baby in the head, consumed part of his brain matter, mutilated his body and decapitated him because “cause...I needed something to eat” After he murdered a victim he would keep a copy of the newspaper asa trophy to re-live the crime by reading about it.
He was similar in some ways to Jeffrey Dahmer both seem like they were loners wrapped up in their deluional fantasy world that only existed in their minds. All the victims were not connected to eachother except the small geographical area whefe they lived and were murdered was very close to where Richard Trenton Chase was living at the time of the murders.
The murders occured within walking or driving distance from his house, where he was living at the time of the murders. From a young age he was developing a extremely violent and predatory nature towards animals or people, so even if he wasn't a risk to others he would have been a risk to himself. He cut the paw of his pet dog andwould frequently have attempt to crush the jaw of the dog by tightly griping it around it's jaw almost to the point of broking it's jaw. He believed his family was trying to poison him or control his mind, he also had conversations with people that were not real or no one else saw. His mother thought it was a good idea to slowly stop giving him his medication till eventually he wasn't taking his medication and his paranoia became a problem again.
If he continued taking his medication he would have been fine, and possibly none of the deaths of any of the animals or people he killed would or happened, it could have been avoided and lives would have been saved.
He was a disorganised killer that left fingerprints or evidence of his presence at the crime scenes, due to the violent, graphic way he killed his victims.
People were known to fire guns in a creek, near or around the area of some of the crimes and the gunshots were heard by multiple people in the area at various times of the night.
When Richard was living with his family he behaviour become very bizarre and they all thought that something was off about him, that something was wrong despite acting or appearing normal most of the time, he was known to talk to himself however. “Richard, you're a good boy aren't you? Yes you're a good boy” He would do a handstand because he wanted the blood in his body to flow back to his head and would wrap a towel with oranges slices on it around his head. He was u able to keep a steady job due to not doing his job properly and inadequate in terms of dating due to a inability to perform sexually with women, which is one of the reasons he might of hated women and murdered them due to humiliation and rejection. The closer he came to murder the better he looked in terms of apoareance or deameanor. He was aware of social condemnation in social for his actions.
He would target homes that didn't have a car outside, but he would knock first to see if anyone was at home so no one would die. During the murders he was considered sane due to being aware of his actions being wrong, he was aware of what was right or wrong so wasn't able to claim “temporary insanity” as a way to get a more lenient sentence he knew what he did was wrong and excited about reading about his crimes in the newspaper after he committed them, he liked the attention.
Eventually he was caught due to eyewitness testimonies and the the daughter of the one of the investigators being approached by Richard in a supermarket, that felt uncomfortable being around him and talking to him. All the evidence pointed to Richard Trenton Chase and he was finally brought in to be questioned, then brought to trail in a court and convicted of 6 counts of murder in the first degree and sentenced to death in the gas chamber. He decided to killed himself to cure whatever he believed ailed him his whole life that he never re eived sufficient help for because he was delusional andit was all in his head. He overdosed on Sinequan (a medication for depression) while in prison.
The scarborough rapist/sexual sadist Paul Bernardo and his willing and enthusiastic accomplice Karla Homolka. Karla wasn't a virgin when she married Paul Bernardo so offered her virginal younger sister Tammy to make up for not being a virgin as a “christmas wedding present” Before Paul met Karla Homolka he was stalking potential victims, he would then hit them to subdue themand drag them into bushes so they would be seen, he ordered them to lay on their stomach so they wouldn't see his face, then he would beat and sodomise them. If they did not meet I don't believe they would have done what they did individually, but each person inspired and encouraged the other to act out their darkest fantasy/obsession with luring, drugging, mutilating, torturing and raping their virginal teenaged victims that were innocent and didn't deserve to be treated like a piece of meat.
I belueve that Paul Bernardo would have continued to rape women, but would have escalated and would have changed his modus operandi and would probably spe nd more time with his victim by torturing them over several days and repeatedly rape the victim and get other people involved and hold it against them as leverage that he could use later.
The book is about female murderers, some are serial killers, some aspects of the book are interesting to read but think that the author has a biased/sexist link in of women and what they are really capable of. With everyone good thing a woman is capable of curse are also capable of unflinching and unspeakable evil acts and not think twice about doing it again and again.
Like the joker from the barman universe said, “some people just want to watch the world burn” said
Unfortunately this book is taking me a long time to read due to be overly detailed trivial information added that no one asked for, just get to the point already! The only reason I chose to read this book is because all I wanted to know we're the facts, such as: who thee female murderers are, why they felt they were justified to kill one of more people, what drove them to kill, why and how they were caught, if they confessed at all, when they were convicted of murder in court.
I don't need to read about nsignificant details that have nothing to do with the murderer or the victims of the crimes, just report the facts, in a interesting, informative way, instead of going off on a tangent just because you like to world on and on and trivial things. This book is starting to test my patience.
I don't know who all the female serial killers, murderers are that are mentioned in the book, so a image of them would have been helpful. I am not a fan of the has a fitting style, going of on a irrelevant tangent a lot, or adding unnecessary details that don't specifically relate to the murderers directly, but somewhat indirectly sometimes, so it makes reading this book a full slot to get to the point of each separate chapter about different people.
There are many better and more interesting a detailed books about male/female serial killers that are worth read about, such as mindhunter. Now I have finished reading this book, I did find it it interesting and sometimes disturbing to read, I'm not really a fan of the writer's style of writing but I would recommend the other books the author has written as well as this book if you like reading true crime books. I would warn people however that if you don't have a strong stomach, or are squeamish about blood, and the gory details relates to real life murder investigations, then these types of books are not for you, for everyone else that can stomach all the gory details however you would find it interesting like I do.
This book is about murders, serial killers that took place in the Tyne and Wear area of the Uk, each chapter is about a different case that involves one or more people that were murdered.
Some of the cases are more well known due to the age of the convicted murderer of the circumstances of the murder(s). A lot of the cases remain unsolved.
Tom Nicholson at Bill Quay (1902): Thomas Nicholson was arrested for the rape and axphyxiation of a seven year old girl named Mary. Tom lied about his whereabouts when Mary was murdered.
The most didturbing aspects of the crime were the wounds inflicted upon the victim, Tom had beaten girl, stabbed her genitals then violently raped and asphyxiated Mary. Another child named Alice saw Mary walking with Tom before the crime was committed, his clothing was covered in the victims blood he was seen by a witness.
“Nicholson's execution was part of a double hanging” he was standing next to Samuel Walton “he killed his wife then attempted to cut his own throat but his life was saved so he would face the gallows” When Tom was arrested/convicted of rape and murder, he would be hanged, “his ankles were strapped together” A lot of the murderers mentioned in the book went to the gallows until capital punishment was abolished in the UK.
Lawman Lawless (1908): Robert Lawman was a drunk as well as his wife, any money they earned was wasted on alcohol instead of providing for his family. Robert's relstionship with his wife was tempestous, they regularly had verbal arguements the led to blows. Robert's son testified against him in court he told the jury of his difficult environment at home, he also recognised a watch that belonged to the victim Amelia wood. William's testimony helped to convict Robert of murder, he was swiftly executed for his crime. Robert even said “I'll swing for her” Before Amelia was murdered she had an argument with Robert, unfortunately he was drunk and strangled Amelia, she had knife wounds cuts on her body, both were found naked at the crime scene. After he murdered Amelia Robert attempted to cut his own throat but he was saved so he would convicted of muder and hanged instead.
Appeal Dismissed: Matthew Dodds (1908): Matthew Dodds was a cruel man that was physically abusive to his crippled wife Mary Jane, this led to her removing her husband from her will as the beneficiary instead he would receive £40. There was speculation about the circumstanes of Mary's death.
Mary had a habit of drinking alcohol, this was one of the reasons for the cause of her death because it is unknown. “Stays from Mrs Dodds corset were found” and “she was crammed into a space only a foot wide” Matthew Dodds was convicted of murder and sentenced to be hanged, he murdered his wife to gain the money for her will, because he wanted to be the sole beneficiary, it was very selfish and greedy. Mary removed him from her will but changed and rewrote her will again due to how her husband treated her Matthew Roberts strangulated his wife or pushed her into the fireplace, to get rid of her, just because he wanted her money, all he was paid was £40 so I hope it was worth it!
Abel Atherton- ‘Ye're hanging an innocent man' (1909): Abel Atherton was a man that was infatuated by a fifteen year girl that he believed was having an incestous relationship with her father, but it was just his imagination. His delusion led him to make accusations about incest, even though the father had a normal father-daughter relationship with his daughter. Abel went to the house of the man he believed was abusing in his daughter in an attempt to merely frightened the mother and daughter, but during a struggle he accidently pulled the trigger of the gun he brought with him and fired at the wife of the he accused of incest. He was jealous of the supposed incestous relationship the man didn't have with his daughter, Abel was delusional and couldn't tell the difference between a fantasy in his mind and reality. He used to say particular things such as “Hello, here comes Daddy's pet!” It's disgusting. He was found guilty and hanged.
Killing on the Alnmouth train (1910): A man was murdered while travelling on a train, he was carrying a significant amount of money, which would have made him an easy target for and opportunistic thief. All the evidence is circumstantial and wasn't thoroughly investigated, other possible explanations were not followed up and the money wasn't found. The victim was shot in the head five times, but with two different guns, there was blood on the murderer's clothing there wasn't a motive to kill the man, he was extremely poor. One or more men were responsible and fired seperate weapons the accomplice stole the money, this explains how there were bullets from different guns, but paper was also used to force the wrong type of bullets into the gun that was fired, the paper was from the train carriage. The judge that convicted John A. Dickman of murder “ formed the view that he was guilty of murder of the wife of a friend of his” so was being judged before he ever went to court, for the murder trail for the victim John Innes Nisbet. John Dickman did know John Nisbet, but it was never stated how well they knew eachother, no one will ever know who is responsible or if John Dickman worked alone because the paperwork was destroyed and forgotten about. John Dickman was convicted of the murder and hanged for his crime despite the evidence being mostly circumstantial and not fully investigated. I don't believe it was a 100% certainty that the right person was convicted, the murderer might of had an accomplice that stole the murder and partly got away with murder.
The Lintz Green Case (1911): This case is a unsolved case. A stationmaster Joseph Wilson “who was generally admired” was shot and then the murderer disappeared. The police were looking for a man aged between 20 and 22, the description given for the murderer was vague. Joseph lived in a working-class “rough” area and it was believed that he was murdered by the “undesirables” of the area near his home. Wilson's daughter made a satement which is suspicious “they have shot at my father” instead of he shot my father which is odd. One motive may be due to Joseph taking home money from work in a bag, this was well known by a lot of people. He was shot close to his home, so the murderer might have known him or worked with him, because it seems like he was followed home, shot and robbed.
No one was ever convicted of murdering Joseph Wilson “The callous murder lies cold and unsolved” Samuel Atkinson twenty-five year part-time porter at the station was a suspect for awhile and questioned but he was acquitted. More than one assailant was responsible for the murder and the victim's daughter's use of ‘they' “may hint at previous warnings or threats”
“As with every case we like closure but the Lintz Green affair will not supply us with that”
Inconclusive evidence, no clear motive other than robbery and no known suspect was ever convicted of the crime.
A Jealous Man (1916): Joseph Deans was a jealous man, he was jealous of his wife's friendships and everything she had. His statement says a lot ‘ I came home with plenty of money. I lavished it all on this woman and then she started going with someone else so I killed her' Catherine's daughter said on an incident that was frightening ‘Deans had stormed in one day, accused her mother of infedelity and then drawn a a knife and threatened to kill her.' He said to Catherine ‘I haven't long to live but, before I die I ‘ll kill you' On anothet occassion he went toi a gumsmith and asked the clerk ‘will it kill a man?' then returner for ammonition. Somehow Catherine was able to walk to the hospital after Joseph attacked her with an axe, she had wounds on her neck and shoulder, and the vicious attack left part of her brain exposed but while she was in shock she managed to walk to a hospital to get medical assisstence. Sadly Catherine struggled but lived for six more days then died. Joseph somehow slept soundly in his prison cell and ate his last mreal heartily before he was hanged for the murder of his wife.
Graham and Shelton (1925): Henry Graham and Shelton were both murderers, Graham was a WW1 soldier in the trenches and he was affected by a bomb explosion he was suffering from shellshock which is known today as PTSD. He stabbed his wife to death for no apparent reason.
Shelton was also deviant and a ‘psychotic stalker' by today's modern standards. ‘He wanted to possess Ruth wholly' they were engaged and he made excuses for his bizarre behaviour. He was following and harassing Ruth, she met another named Walter Shiel, she preferred him to her husband because he wasn't a obssessive or possessive person, he was kind and caring to Ruth he wanted to help her out of her situation. He accused his wife of infedelity, and questioned people about their relaationship which called a lot of distress. ‘Both were found sane'
John Dunn (1928): John Dunn had been living a miserable existence as a poor, working-class man trying to provide for his family but struggling to make ends meet. He murdered his wife, but was remorseful for what he did. Two of his children testified in court against him. He had ten children, two had died in infancy, three of his children were living at home. There was marital conflict, John had conjured up a brutal plan to murder his wife, but when he killed her, he afterwards claimed that she killed herself. Ada was found at the bottom of the stairs after having supposedly hanging herself but the rope was too short in length. John was infeeble and due to ill health he had to retire, so his life must have been frustrating due to a lack of work or money.
Dunn was supposedly joking with people after murdering his wife as a witness stated. John Dunn strangled his wife to death, then hanged her to make it seem like she comitted suicide, but forensic evidence proved that she was dead before he hanged her and made it look like suicide. For a short period of time John suffered from psychosis and was in an asylum, he spent time in the Durham light infantry and was at the forefront of combat so he experienced it up close and personal.
John had tried to strangle Ada nine years previously. Ada went to stay in a work house, she didn't want to be intimate with her husband, this changed the nature of their relationship, but they had be estranged for some time, before this happened. He was friendly and jovial leading up to the day he was hanged.
Bookmaker on the scaffold (1929): James Johnson of which there are two people that share that name, one attempted to cut the throat of a woman and the other succeeded in bloody fashion. A stright razor was used. His wife Mary possibly had an affair with Billy Ridleu who was known to be violkent and carry around with a straight razor. James murdered his wife and attempted to kill himself and his children in a murder-suicide plot. This occured due to James suspecting but never confirming his wife's infedelity, he also attempted to murder his wife and children, several times previously via the same method. He was sentenced to death.
Otterburn Murder Unsolved (1931): Evelyn Foster was killed, put in her car and then it was set on fire, Frederick Morton was shot. A man asked Evelyn for a lift to the train station, but on the way he became violent, he attacked her then assaulted her. He set the car on fire, but somehow she managed to escape. Cecil Johnson, helped Evelyn get home and explained to her mother what happened, but unfortunately she died of her injuries. The crime may have been murder, an insurance scam but it will never be known. The crime scene was contaminated, the leads were not investigated so this will never be solved sadly.
A Mercy Killing (1933): A clerk of Mr. J.G. Nixon, John Hoodhe murdered his wife with an axe, his wife was cut, sliced and the attack on her was so vicious tat her head was almost decapitated. John Hood's wife was not discovered for a week, body parts were strewn about due to the murder weapon that was used. Hood's wife was epilectic, but also suffering from a wasting dises that steadily make her go insane. After the murder John returned library books, he ended her suffering, but te way he killed her was brutal. He was given a reprieve instead of a death sentence.
The murder of Jane Parker (1938): William Parker was married to Jane Parker and they had two children, however this didn't seem to either be what William wanted or it was enough to satisfy him, which is why he tried to portray the life of a bachelor. He would frequently wander to the golf course and collect golf balls for money, so he had extra money he could have provided for his family but chose not too, almost as if he is punishing them in some way. William fabricated lies about his wife threatening to kill his children by strangling them and chasing him around the house weith a poker, but it is all lies. William murdered his family, he bloodgeoned his wife to death with a hammer and strangled her and strangled his children, the first night of their deaths he slept soundly in the house. The next two days he spent wandering ir at his parent's home, thenhe decided to report the crime to the police but it wasn't until three days after he had murdered his family and lied about what happened to them. Seven judges decided his fate, which was death.
The Hoolhouse case (1938): Robert Hoolhouse who may have been innocent of the murder of a farmer's wife's murder, was “convicted, hanged, on suspicion, on inference from the facts, which may have been wrong inferences from misunderstood facts, which is what “circumstantial evidence means”
He may have been innocent. Margaret Dobson was on her way to the villages shop, but unfortunately she never made it there, she was attacked in a “blitz attack” this means she was suddenly hit and then attacked by the killer who first hit her in the face hard to subdue her, then he raped and murdered her by stabbing her in her neck and chest. All the evidence was circumstantial, the whereabouts of Margaret's husband could not be determined fully with 100% certainty.
Robert and his family worked on the farmland that his wife's father owned, but due to an arguement they were told to leave a never return. While working on the farmland, they also lived there, but due to the arguement they were evicted and homeless, the arguement was one prime motive that was a cause of concern for the court/jury at the time. Robert Hoolhouse had a girlfriend at the time, who he went to see on the day the farmer's wife was murdered!
Robert Hoolhouse made certain comments which didn't make him look good morally, he refused to a blood test Robert also owned the knife that was the murder weapon, there was blood on his shirt which may have been caused by falling of his bike. There was an appeal but it was denied and Robert Hollhouse was hanged. He was wrongfully convicted, based on flimsy/circumstantial evidence which is a miscarriage of justice, the killer will never be caught/convicted.
Leeman the silent killer (1949): Leeman who was previously convicted of “the attempted murder of a teenager” was to be hanged but was aquitted at the last minute. He slent six years in jail previous for the attempted murder. “Leeman found himself living on the edge of a community, rxidting in bars spending time with drinking buddies and continuing his introspective and purposeless life” He was a “quiet and dangerous man in the habit kf drinking with Stuart Dowson” until it resulted in a fight and there was a witness. Leeman had a knife i his hand during the fight with Dowson, who he then stabbed in the heart then twisted the blade to cause further injury. Two women saw all of the altercation, he aruged with one of them and threatened them after Dowson was murdere in cold blood.
The second witness statement, left no doubt that Leeman was “an unhinged man of violence”
Somehow Leeman did eventually get married and had children but he was abusive to them.
He was sent to prison and killed his cellmate, because he refused to hide tabbaco during a routine cell search for contrband. Leeman stabbed bis cel!mate with a sharpened utensil for not helping him.
John Leeman was destine tl be sent to Broadmoor ( a hospital for mentally ill people, some may have been murderers), but was sent to Cherry Knowles mental Asylum instead in Sunderland. While in prison, it was discovered that John Leeman had throat cancer, not even he knew, maybe that's why he was known as the ‘silent man'
Patrick Turnage ‘I want to hang!' (1950): Patrick Turnage was a seaman aboard the SS Absalom, docked at the River Tees. He was at Billingham Reach, he decided to go and have a few drinks. While at the bar there was a woman who was already tipsy, they struck up a conversation and he invited her to have a drink. Julia Beesley was a seventy-eight year old prostitute, “she was in the habit of drinking too much and tended to press herself on men around the pubs and clubs” in the local area.”She was a very sociable person and had always enjoyed earning some cash around the docks with the casual lkabour of tbe area.
Patrick and Julia had a long and heated arguement that was fuelled by a large quantity of alcohol, Patrick pushed Julia and she fell into a ditch, he supposedly attempted to lift her up but was unable to do so. Julia had been strangled, but had no visible signs, or obvious marks on her body after she was murdered, her death could have been accidental, but jt was never proven if she died due to being murdered or accident. Patrick Turnage cheerfully walked to the gallows and his death, he was buried in an unmarked grave in the prison grounds.
No Motive, No clue (1952): This case is very sad, “in a very lonely and isolated way” which I can relate to.
May Thompson, was a devout catholic who was a bit of a loner and kept to herself, there is no motive/reason for anyone to break into her house and stab her death, sadly this case remains unsolved.
The Widow of Windy Nook (1957): Mary Wilson was the victorian killer.
Phosphorus was used, but arsenic or antimony were also commly used to poison the intended victim. She died in prison at the age of seventy.
Manuel comes south (1957): Peter Manuel (Scotland's first serial killer, there is a book and series about him, he just wanted to kill) His crimes consisted of rapes, assaults, murder, burgularies and thefts.
Diminished responsibility (1957):
Selina Mewes was bludgeoned to death by Ronald Dunbar for her money, the motive was robbery.
The one-armed bandit murder (1967): Angus Sibbet was murdered bya mafia hitman possibly.
Mary Bell (1968): Mary and Norma abused two boys who they murdererd.
Mary was 11 and the boys were 3 & 4.
The Torso in the tank (1979): A young woman murdered and dismembered, then dumped into a tank, it remains unsolved.
The Surgeon's tale (1979): Dr. Paul Vickers gave his wife the wrong medication. He killed his wife to better himself/be with his mistress.
Wearside Jack and perigo Unsolved case (1978-86): Peter Sutcliffe (the Yorkshire Ripper) may have had an accomplice named “Wearside Jack”
Homer & Standen (1982): Armed robbers with a political agenda, murdered an innocent police officer.
Gunned down in wallsend (1993): Viv Graham was murdered, it hasn't been solved.
The Sunderland Strangler (1993-96): Steven Grieveson, a sexual deviant, a rapist and murderer of teenagers.
A case of secondary murder? (1993): Two drunk, glue sniffing teenagers were vandalising a building, which then led to them fighting the police and an innocent police officer murdered by a teenager, while witnesses stood and watched it all happen but didn't intervene.
DNA Wins Again (2000): This is about how forensic fingerprints were discovered, and a murderer/rapist was caught.
This book was vague about the real life details of the Hungarian Countess Elizabeth Bathory AKA “the blood countess” or “Bloody Countess” so I found it disappointing to read.
Some people believe she was a vampire, a possible witch but she was definitely a real person, that was sadistic and evil due to learning about torture methods and witchcraft by one of her servants Darvulia.
This book is more of a reference book rather than a informative account of the life of Elizabeth Bathory, so I will read other books that are more detailed to find out more about her.
I don't understand why more accurate accounts of her life were not translated into English, since I would be interested in reading about it.
This book is just a overview of the life and what possibly lead Elizabeth Bathory to torture, mutilate and murder/bathe in the blood/possibly drink the blood of servants that were peasants or nobility for her own sick and sadistic pleasure. I would recommend this book to anyone that has never heard of Elizabeth Bathory, and they don't know anything about her or Vlad Tepes (Prince of Wallachia, Transylvania in Romania)
I didn't receive the version of the book that I wanted (Elizabeth Bathory in a red dress, the pages were printed in a waythat it isn't aligned properly so that is another reason I was disappointed with this book) :/
This book is interesting and helpful to to learn about psychic vampirism, (but it is associated with other forms of vampirism (sanguinarian, emotional vampirism, occult related vampirism) or other spiritual, mental/emotional/physical problems could also be the cause for some of the symptoms mentioned in the book.
Some people may have health problems that affect their energy, physical, mental/emotional wellbeing so if they are also psychic/an empath or sensitive emotionally/spiritually it will make them a target for spirits/entities, narcissists/psychopaths/sociopaths/cults or negative power vibrational energy people involved in the occult that want to deceive you so be careful. Heal your emotional wounds, or any damage to your aura/soul, release any self destructive habits in your life or anyone/anything that is a bad influence or harmful to you in any way. It's sad that not everyone is aware of the effect that vampiric can have on you in multiple ways, the long-term damage it can cause, all the problems it can create if people choose not to believe that is it even possible or real, or they ignore the problem until it gets worse.
Some people could have issues related to a past life, due to being psychic or a empath, spiritually sensitive to different vibrational energy of spirits, entities, other types of beings like angels/demons, elementals, survitors (thought thoughts)
Sleep paralysis caused by spirit's, demons and other types of beings such spectral vampires, vampiric spirits, witch's, occultist's, black magicians using astral projection, black magic or the aid of a being to cause harm to others, during sleep, taking their energy. (I don't believe that everyone involved in the occult is evil, or only involved in the occult to harm other people but a small minority of people are and they have sinister and malicious intentions and they don't care about the consequences or karmic cost of what they are doing unfortunately)
Emotional vampirism is never mentioned despite the fact that it has a similar effect to psychic vampirism but instead you're drained of your emotion energy on purpose by a emotional vampire. They project their pessimistic attitude and opinion onto others, to make other people feel sorry for them, so they will feel obliged to care or want to help them, but they only way they can get better is if they change themselves. Things would improve if they improve themselves mentally, physically, spiritually, psychically and to stop absorbing negativity into their aura which is damaging their aura, health, emotional, mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing.
The author is a bit repetitive sometimes in the book, so sometimes it seems like they are saying the same thing over and over and it's phrased verbatim. Sometimes it's annoying, while reading the book.
I did find the book, to be informaive, but if occult related vampirism, astral projection or obvious/subtle signs of vampiric was mentioned in depth then that would have been helpful. I think everyone should read this book,
The introduction at the beginning of the book is informative and interesting, not many books have a introduction that mentions real-life FBI agents like Robert Ressler or John Douglas. Both are significant FBI agents that have had interesting careers. Robert Ressler was one of the FBI agents responsible to Ted Bundy being caught. John Douglas work with the FBI in the Behavioural Science unit that created “psychological profiling” of serial killers, to categorise the characteristics, mindset, personality of serial killers. If psychological, geographical or other forms of profiling never existed, then a lot of serial killers would have not ever been discovered, so Israel Keyes (an Alaskan serial killer and someone that terrified the FBI when he was questioned about his crimes would never have been known about or caught. That is terrifying!)
Profiling is absolutely necessary to discovering a serial killer, murderers, terrorists etc..
It is not a exact science though, and a psychological profile of a serial killer, or potential murderer, mass murderer can be wrong, inaccurate.
Jack the Ripper has always interested me, but some aspects of the information available about the murders can be false, a hoax for attention or inaccurate. If Aaron Kosminski's brother Wolf, was a Jack the Ripper suspect then why was he never questioned about the murders? Why is there no information about him in the book? It's a bit frustrating, as a reader of true crime.
So far the book or authors don't seem original since they are using terminology that is Eastern European and Romanian, Greek, Latin in origin.
The terms Strigoii Vii (a “living vampire”) & Strigoii Mort (a “undead vampire”) are not new to me since I already know about Eastern European beliefs of vampires, werewolves and witches.
I know about Eastern European beliefs of vampires due to reading a lot of books about vampire mythology from the ancient to modern civilization of humanity.
I understand why they use ther term “Strigoii Vii” in the book to describe a living vampire but that doesn't apply to all vampires because not all vampires/vampyres (which ever spelling you use) in the VC (Vampire Community) are the same. Not all types of vampyres are mentioned such as Psychic Vampyres, Tantric Vampyres or emotional Vampyres.
In case anyone doesn't know Father Sebastiaan is a vampire, occultist, author and a “fangsmith” (he professionally gives people real fangs) However I have learned of some controversial things about Father Sebastiaan (due to talking to a Elder vampire in a vampirism group on kik) J don't want to judge the character of the author so I will remain objective and give my honest opinion and review of his books.
I am already reading the story by Clive Barker's “Human Remains” from The Books od Blood so I will skip reading this story.
Necros by Brian Lumley: so far this story is very slow, I don't particularly care about the obsessive detail about the way the female character looks (it's seems to be perversely obsessive) The story was boring, slow paced and predictable, I figured out who was the vampire in the story is (even though it isn't specifically mentioned)
Hopefully the rest of the author's work is more interesting to read. I prefer visceral gory vampire stories.
Some historical female murderers that are not mentioned much or in this book but are still worth reading/learning about are: Belle Gunness, Amelia Dyer, Jane Toppan (A sexual sadist)
I'm getting a bit fed with the generalised sexist point of view or opinion of men that female murderers, serial killers are “rare”
I think the Introduction is a bit sexist to be honest but that is just my honest opinion.
Like it it not but women are just as capable of being a sadist, sexual sadist, perverted, deviant, sadistic & peadophiles as much as men are.
Not all female serial killers murder their intended victim(s) for profit/their life insurance. These specific types of female serial killers are known as a “black widow” they get married, take a life insurance policy sometimes multiple polices then plan how they will murder their husband. They then claim the life insurance and act like the grueving wife of the re ently deceased husband. Thry nirmally fo this several times, they usually have multiple husbands or boyfriends that mysteriously die unexpectedly because they were murdered.
A lot of female serial killers have a personal vendetta against one man in particular or all men in general.
Their type of victim(s) may resemble a man in their life that abused them, so they maybe mephahorically murdering their father, boyfriend or someone else man that has been in their life so the victim(s) symbolically represent that person from their life.
This aspect never seems to be taken in consideration as a motive for women to become a sadist/sexual sadist, murderer/potential serial killer.
For some women their motivation for murder us revenge for various types of abuse, rape, torture, gang rape.
Women can be a sexual deviant, perverted, a sadist, sexual sadist, perverted, mentally ill/disturbed, psychotic, delusional, women can sexually motivated to commit crimes.
A small minority of women would be a masochist & a sadist (they like inflicting pain on themselves & others) Joanne Dennehy is a good example. She would self-harm, but she also liked inflicting pain onto other peopke and went on a killing spree, randomly murdering people she didn't know because it was fun gor her in her opinion. She was obsessed with blood, inflicting pain onto men. She is a sadist.
Some women are a sadist & eager to please their boyfriend, husband and a willing & compliant participant in kidnapping, keeping a victim held captive, and engaging in the sexual/physical torture of the victim(s) resulting in their death.
Karla Homola, Myra Hindley & Rose West as perfect examples of sexual sadists/serial killers that are women.
There are different catergories for male serial killers why does the same apply to female serial killers?
Jane Andrews: Her relationship with her parents and having a abortion severely affected her mentally/emotionally. She may have felt neglected by her parents, or men in general hence her attention-seeking behaviour such as a drug overdoses, acting sexually provacative, flirty with any man that showed interest in her.
It seems like when things don't go her way, or the way she wanted them to be then she acts out and engages in attention-seeking behaviour. Her being diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder would explain her weird behaviour, her state of mind at the time and how/why her relationship with Tom Cressman was toxic, codependent, abusive. Both of them seem like they are toxic and narcissistic peopke hence why they would go out of their way to publically humiliate eachother to prove a point. They weren't right for eachother and they should have ended their relationship amicably when Tom said he didn't want to marry her. His death could have been avoided.
Interest on bdsm in anal sex, bondage or role-playing to a lot of people is considered “tame” or “normal” I understand it's not for everyone, but I think it's not necessary to “kink-shame” men or women. I understand why people are uncomfortable about, but if it involves consenting adults and doesn't harm people then who are you or anyone to judge people for liking bdsm?
It's hard to judge and say if Tom was abusive or if Jane was saying/acting like he was abusive to gain attention & sympathy.
She is a murderer regardless of how or why it happened.
Tracie Andrews: So far the women mentioned in this book seem like unreliable witnesses/the person responsible for a crime(s) and tried to deflect blame with a false, fake/made up and totally unbeliavable story. They seem to have false memories or create a fake account of what happened which is neither true or belivable They claim to be the “victim” when they are the murderer.
The audacity and sense of entitlement to claim they have been victimised due to being a narcissist, is ridiculous and disgusting.
Tracie Andrews was always guilty & suspicious from the start, I have seen a documentary about them so I already knew about the case.
I appreciate that the book includes photographs of the female murderers in the book, not all true crime books include a image, photograph of the person that is mentioned in the book.
I can't believe she bit her fiancee, and physically hit him in public and in front of people.
In the introduction the author incorrectly says about what is known as “Penny Dreadfuls” people in Victorian England, London in the 19th paid a penny to read a gory “Penny Dreadful” story.
They were published weekly in the newspaper and Victorians were obsessed with all the blood and gore. Edgar Allan Poe was a popular American writer, poet due to the gory gothic horror short stories & poems that he wrote.
Dennis Nilsen (A Scottish serial killer): He was a very ordinary and insignificant person, there wasn't anything particularly interesting about him as a person. In a documentary series “Des” he was potrayed by the actor David Tennent and even he thought that the serial killer was “boring” after doing his own research about him.
Some disturbings facts about the serial killer are that he was a police officer for a brief amountof time, but he was kicked off the police gorce due to masturbating in the morgue.
He is a necrophile (a person that is turned on & attracted to corpses of once living people. Necrophilia is the name of this disturbing sexual desire but a person that feels that attraction and acts out their fantasy is known as a necrophile) He was extremely lonely that he killed for company so even corpses were considered as good enough company.
Jeffrey Dahmer was also extremely lonely gay man that had a lot of issues and he became a serial killer “the Milwaulkee cannibal” he spent time with the corpses of his victims but he had sex with their corpses and cannibalised them.
He made a shrine out of their bones and limbs (this is why he was murdered later on in prison) because other prisoners were disgusted by him, his crimes of serial rape, murder, mutilation, cannibalism, necrophilia and his “shrine of death”
Another disturbing aspects of the serial killer is the one living victim that Dennis Nilsen purposefully strangled & drowned and revived and bundled them into a sleeping bag, the poor man remembers this hapening to him. He had ligature marks on him after it happened, he is lucky to be alive.
Ted Bundy was a necrophile) Both decapitated their victims.
He purposefully targeted men that were vulnerable, innocent and some may have been gay but I don't think all the the victims were gay.
I think that Dennis Nilsen was secretly ashamed to be gay and couldn't or wasn't able to admit to himself that he was gay & lonely.
I recently bought a copy of this books from Nico Claux on Etsy, so I will read it and write a review of it when i've finished reading it.
Thank you for signing the books I purchased with your name & your blood and I like your skull drawing as well
