Worth the read! It was a very comfy and cute book. Definitely loved more the robots than Vic (human), which is the only thing stopping it from being a 4 stars.
It gave me so much Wall-e vibes, and I loved it for it. The dialogs of the robots are hilarious, and I found myself laughing multiple times!
The story, however, didn't hook me as I thought it would, and I needed to push myself a bit. But all worth it for the robots, really!
This was.. surprisingly great. I really really enjoyed it. Well, it's dark, full of drama and I was absolutely depressed while reading it. BUT, it was good.
If you want to read what would have happened if Harry Potter lost the war and Voldy was to rule, then give this one a go. I don't believe I'll ever be able to read Harry Potter now, it has broken it for me!
Ahh an entertaining read, but it felt very predictable to me! I enjoyed the first one more, even though the stakes and the setting were pointing for a thrilling conclusion with this installment.
Recommend if you want something very easy to get into and that overall has a very similar taste to Bridge Kingdom but with a younger tone!
Ahh I am leaning between 3 and 3.5 stars. Here's my spoiler-free video where I explain why: https://youtu.be/p8P2_cEMSlY
In essence: It's fun, reminiscent of Terry Pratchett and with the core trope as Project Hail Mary. So then whyyyyy this isn't a favorite!
Well, because it doesn't seem a Sanderson novel- at least I didn't get the feeling of reading something truly unique and special. It was very average and I wasn't able to connect with the characters!
A shame!
You might expect the Year of Sanderson to start with a book with characters as well crafted as in Stormlight Archive, as epic as Mistborn, or with a magic system to rival Warbreaker. But Tress of The Emerald Sea won't be that. It will be the most lighthearted, cozy, and feel-young book in the Cosmere- and I quite liked it!
The thing though is that this doesn't seem like a Sanderson book.
I made an in-depth spoiler free review of Tress of the Emerald Sea in my channel, here's the link in case you want to check it out! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78-A9zLaxkY
It was a nice read! The story itself is a quest throughout the desert where our main characters will have different adventures & fights!
For me it seemed a bit reminiscent of We Hunt The Flame, with characters & the 3 PoVs of An Ember in the Ashes! So, all in all very entertaining!
Reads almost like YA, with almost 0 romance, which was honestly refreshing!
Definitely more around the vibes than the story itself! I heard that it was very atmospheric & that you could almost feel the sand in your hands... well, that is alll true!
The pace however, was somewhat slow and I wasn't really able to connect with the characters. It was very hard for me to know what Fable was feeling! But again, ain't matter! The vibes made it all worth it!
