I'm sure Trevor Noah had some deep meaning within these pages he's trying to convey but it was lost on me. Big fan of TR, loved the illustrations, but this story was over (or under?) my head.
This was a beautiful love story, written beautifully. The writing style kept me going though I found the book somewhat longer than it needed to be with unnecessary details that started to feel like a bit of a slog to get through. For this reason, I couldn't give it a full 5 stars. Otherwise, this is the story of redemption & love everyone should be reading. I also love reading a story geographically set in in a location I'm familiar with (in this case, I live in the state & am very familiar with every location described & talked about in the book). As a reader, I couldn't shake the feeling that something bad was about to happen, but I'm here to say don't worry, It's all good!
I highly recommended this!
