I will start by saying you need to read her other book first: Miracle from the Streets.

If you read the books in this order you'll be mesmerized by how much of a change God made in her life. In the first book you find a broken person with no future while in the second you find someone humble giving pieces of love and hope to everyone around her. God works in mysterious ways and for sure did in her life.

This book is the perfect example of what happens when you follow the Lord and listen to his word.

Everyone has been praising this book up and down to the point I had, from simple curiosity, to read it. I have to say it's well written, it's clear the author had a lot to think about while writing so it came out really well. The unfortunate thing about the book is maybe the fact that everyone creates huge expectations about it so when you pick it up you will expect a plot twist so huge that your jaw will literally drop. Unfortunately for me I kind of expected the ending everything was set up to go in that direction. The peak for me was achieved when it made the connection to The silent patient. I was expecting something really big because of the above mentioned book. Unfortunately it's not that close. Even so a very good book. Would deserve 5 stars if the ending wasn't so rushed and it wouldn't make everything obvious from the beginning.

God works in misterios ways. It's impossible not to marvel at this powerful story. It doesn't happen every day that someone makes an U-turn and so a beautiful story unfolds. What's special about this is the way Cherie stayed humble and still praises God with her story. This book for sure is one huge hidden gem. Worth every minute. I found myself with teary eyes and broken heart while reading. God is good all the time and all the time God is good.

Never did a book make me cry like this. It was so pure and filled with love. The perfect book doesn't exist but for sure this one comes close to being perfect. Never has a Bible story been told like this, in such a beautiful way. Maybe I found the perfect moment to read this but it touched my soul.

Easy to read but the story was kind of fake. You couldn't immerse in the story while reading

I cried a lot, I felt the pain behind the words, while it broke my heart it also healed the biggest hole. This is the best book I've read in years

Wow, I'm speechless, this book keeps you focused and thinking about possibilities, making you find a culprit in everyone. A perfect psychological book, hard to swallow some truths but this book speaks about how some scars from our childhood will stay with us forever, it speaks about the way some incompetent parents will give their children scars for life.

Expect the intimate parts of the book I liked everything, I believe the book would be better without. It's a very emotional book that can make you cry or think about your limits

Maybe the ending is a bit annoying but everything else about the book is perfect. A role roller-coaster of emotions and a story about the world we can not see.

Oh, what a wonderful book, you will find yourself smiling maybe sometimes crying but for sure you will find hope after you read this. God bless you all

With a slow start I wasn't expecting much, but man I was so wrong. This book takes you in a childish world and teaches you so many lessons. Teach you that every man is equal, makes you think twice before questioning a kid. This book is the perfect example of “not all heroes wear capes”. A must read book. I enjoyed every bit of it.

The first book I would rate with 5 stars. Want to see what happens when innocence encounters the worst part of history? I would recommend this to anyone. A really sad story about the dark part of our history. The innocent perspective of the story will melt your heart.

It feels incomplete, awesome story and caracter build up only to destroy it all at the end. Unexpected ending but not in the best way.
