I think I may have fallen in love with Nikolai. He was such a joker and truly managed to put a smile on my face with his stupid antics and smart ideas.
David is such a sweetheart, he definitely had all my respect at the end.
I seriously thought Alina's hair turns white in the third book but I guess not. But it does make me wonder what price the Darkling has to pay for merzost.
I actually really liked this. While there wasn't as much action as I expected, the action scenes were well executed and fast paced.
I didn't like Alina too much and I quite liked Mal. He was such a nice character, so loyal to Alina.
The Darkling didn't feel as fleshed out as I thought he'd be, I think that's the part I'm most disappointed with.
Growing up, iCarly was one of my favourite shows and I loved Jennette's acting. I was a bit apprehensive picking this up due to the fact that I've never read any memoirs before, but I'm glad this was my first.
Jennette's life was sad but I'm happy to know she's healing and telling her story. I don't have any words, I can only say that her writing is phenomenal
4.5 stars!
I had to give myself time before reviewing this. Purely because I had tears running down my face last night when it got hard. I ran to my room just because I didn't want my dad to see me cry over a book.
This book was so good, aside from my little (big) issue with a fairyloot reseller that made me want to stop reading, I loved it. I love Seokga and his coffee drinking tendencies, I love when characters are relatable and Seokga happened to be with his love for coffee. I loved Hani, she was an amazing fmc. She was not annoying and her story pre-Seokga was very interesting.
Their love story was sweet, I love how the cold Seokga could fall in love with her, and I love how Hani “I don't let anyone in my life because I am selfish and I have a secret” fell for the one who was tasked to kill her.
You cannot tell me that Hani didn't have a soft spot for Somi, she loved the baby gumiho so much. So much so that she told Seokga to let Somi go even though she was dying. She took all the blame for it and I hope Somi will appreciate what Hani has never been capable of doing for another.
Hani loved Seokga so much that she prayed to his brother and got him to change his bargain enough to give Seokga a fighting chance against the Eoduksini. Seokga loved Hani so much that he didn't want to kill her even though she turned out to be the Scarlet Fox, loved her so much that he cried and felt guilt for his hand being guided to kill her with her own scarlet blade, and loved her enough to beg his own brother to get her a chance to reincarnate so he could find her again. So their story wouldn't end in pain and guilt.
Give me a Seokga, I need a guy like him so much!
It's unfair knowing how much this book affected me, especially the end. I had this need to read it but also felt horribly incapable yet, I managed to complete it with little disruption.
Roma and Juliette are willing to let their love burn the world down, not just for each other but their city as well. It was so beautiful to know that about them.
Also, I wanna pretend I'm Juliette so I can have Roma. He reminds me of Elias and where they lie on the scale is where my standards are
This book was adorable. I still love Silas but have found him as odd as Elisabeth and Nathaniel seemed to find him. Not to say he's any less of an interesting character though.
Nathaniel and Elisabeth have my heart, they are a lovely duo and I think this novella served its purpose by being a pallet cleanser.
While I'm not typically a fan of cosy fantasy, this one proved to be a quick and easy read with characters I already knew who already had their fair share of action. While being good, I do wish there was more so 3.5 stars for not quite being enough for me
Another book that was better than I expected. When it comes to The Ever Seas books, I hold no high expectations due to their unpredictability and my own feelings while going into books.
While reading this, I realised there was no plot but that didn't mean I was anywhere close to hating it. This book has served as a pallet cleanser for the Throne of Glass series and has served its purpose amazingly. Now I can move on saying I've read another book by L.J. Andrews
3 stars
This book was so sweet. I loved the step back from Aelin and the war with Morath/Erawan. We had also learnt a lot of much-needed backstory for the war and what was to occur. It was also beautiful for it to be on another continent, where everything was insane and flowing. A continent that worked seamlessly.
This also made me appreciate Chaol a lot more after hating him, we have Yrene to thank for that!
It's definitely got a high rating although I cannot decide just yet
Edit: I have finally come to the conclusion that I need to rate this book. Apparently, changing ratings also means being able to give a book a rating as well.
I loved this book a lot. Like I said before I loved the step back from the action. I just cannot settle on a suitable rating. I loved Yrene in this, my liking of Chaol definitely grew from QOS and Sartaq was pretty interesting, but Nesryn was pretty boring. If she wasn't, this book would have been an easy 5 stars but I'm being critical.
So a very close 4.5 stars!
When I say that I knew some of the ending would happen, I can thank fanarts for that, but I never realised it would happen like that and so soon. It made my heart hurt a bit, but apparently I'm not so attached to Aelin so when the end did come I wasn't in tears like with the previous books. Still, one thing I can commend Sarah for is her ability to make the final 100 pages of her books the most intense and amazing.
4.5 stars for the lovely book!
I have been ignoring this book for at least 5 years after finishing the trilogy, I decided that the book didn't deserve to have my eyes grace the words because of everything that happened in Allegiant. I'm glad I did, because I mourned the ending, mourned a good ship. Got over the fact that Four ended up with Christina 5 years later, I HATE HER SO MUCH... I haven't really gotten over it. But I will, someday.
3.5 stars!
