See allSigh For some reason I thought I was signing on for a trilogy, but this is getting long. I'll keep going, to see how the whole thing ends, but I'm afraid I'll have to endure several thousand more mentions of “skirts divided for riding” (Ooo, fancy!), “arms crossed beneath breasts” (can't a woman just cross her arms, already?), and more “Women!—geez!” from the menfolk and “Men!—geez!” from the women. Oh, and more of these episodes:
“Things sure are dangerous— we'd better be really really careful!”
“Right! Careful!”
“I wonder why X is acting so strangely?”
“Eh, probably nothing.”
Oh well, the price I pay for curiosity, I guess.
A ripping yarn, indeed! I'll probably do a few more of these—good Napoleonic adventure-fun.
Oh so tired... I'll probably finish the series someday, but I need a break from all the braid-tuggings, skirt-smoothings, forehead-knucklings, cool punch drinking (it's so hot!), squatting Aiel (it's more comfortable than chairs!), adolescent misunderstanding (wah! I wish I understood the girls as well as Rand Mat Perrin does, wah!)...the list of stock everything goes on and on. Interesting world, though, and I'm sure I would have eaten these up in high school. I gotta go read something else for a bit, though.
Didn't think I was going to like this at first, but it really grew on me. Now I guess I'm committed to the sequel, though...
