Slow read. Kinda felt like the author went out of the way to show that there were lots of “upstanding” Nazis that did what they could within their bounds.

First half was interesting, but when the book transitioned to California it became uninteresting.

Two twists at the end. The mom one was predictable, but the second one with the daughter was unexpected.
