I actually didn’t finish this book because one of the suggestions is to literally follow a stranger around until they go somewhere you can go, such as their home. So this book can fuck off.
I used the dictionary feature on my Kindle more in this one book than I've used it the entire time I've owned a Kindle. It made for a not so fun reading experience.
Really enjoyed this even though I never watched any of the shows. I love when people get to do the thing they love for a living and Siskel and Ebert certainly did that. I think they both would've loved Letterboxd.
I sometimes have trouble with rating non-fiction books because there are sections that I really enjoyed and then others that I'm very indifferent on. But overall, this was a good, quick read.
Really loved this. I've watched several of Paul's films without even realizing it. This was a great look at the behind the scenes of what goes on in a cutting room and how movies come together.
Leaning towards a 3.5 on this probably. I didn't care for 2467 much, but since it's an anthology, it was still enjoyable overall. Love the concept of the coin as the through line in each story.
Absolutely love books like this that focus on just one aspect of a craft. So much goes into making movies and tv that it's nice to just see how some of our favorite characters have been brought to life.
Ended up skipping around a bit to the interview with people I was familiar with or if the intro to them caught my attention. Overall, Debbie Millman is great at interviewing and this was a little treat.
