I need this to be turned into a movie. Half way through I realized that I read this in book form a few years ago and loved it then as much as I loved it now. In the first half of the book before I realized I had read it before I swore Floyd was in on it, once the plot thickened I is when I realized I had read it before. I absolutely loved the ending of this as well. Laurel was slowly putting the pieces together of what happened to Ellie when Floyd realized it he came clean and told Laurel everything and leaving Poppy to her.
3 amazing books in a row.
Wow... I was not expecting that. I had my hunch but I was wrong, close but wrong. I love that Brody thawed out the ice queen Grace. This was such an incredible love story with an interesting twist!
This book is so good, magnificent and work of art. I would die for this to be a movie. A gripping page turner is putting it lightly, I could not put this book down. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this book on Amazon by accident. I was looking for a specific themed book and this one was recommended but not the theme I wanted, I read the description and said why not? Best happy accident ever. There is thrill, suspense, a HEA, character and plot development. I read a lot of the reviews, it seems like the 1 star reviewers don't understand Stockholm syndrome where it's entirely possible to fall in love with your kidnapper. That's not here nor there just an observation.
TW's: kidnapping, rape, miscarriage, almost abortion, explicit sexual scenes, murder, mental illness, attempted self harm.
Such a cute little romance
This was okay, I don't know why I expect more from a 116p book. There was a lot crammed into a little bit of real estate. I wanted more from it, it felt rushed, there was no plot or character developed. I hope that reading the rest of the series will shed some light on this story. For what it was I did enjoy Melody and Jamie's story.
Vicious and Emilia's story ended up being so cute!
Vicious hated Emilia for their senior year because he thought she knew his secrets, she didn't. His hate warped into love, you get to see the lengths a broken abused man will go through to make her his. He trusted her with all his secrets and all his feelings. This is an enemies to lovers bully romance. I like it, there was a very brief mention of Jamie and the teacher, maybe I'll get to why ‘Defy' was a prequel. There aren't any crazy plot twists or oh my god moments. Just a very easy read.
OH MY WORD....
The end... I feel like I have an inkling of what is coming in book 3. I LOVE Chloe and AJs story so much. There's so much I want to say but I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't read. This book was such a wild ride. Man.
I can't wait to read the rest of the series!!
I loved Kat and Nico's story! What a whirlwind of events, while this wasn't as twisty in the plot as other books her hers that I've read, I loved it all the same. I'm a sucker for a possessive rockstar! It's super light on the spice which I can appreciate that she didn't feel the need to fluff it up with all kinds of crazy spicy scenes.
BOOK HANGOVER
Ugh this was fantastic but I'm so sad there isn't more. I am definitely going to have a book hangover which is rare for me. I thought I was going to hate it but I loved it.
High hopes... big disappointment
I wanted to love this book, a lot of people do and hyped it up which is perfectly fine. Unfortunately, it is not my cup of tea. This is a FMC and 2 MMC who are brothers that share her. They refer to her as “our girl” and for lack of a better term it gives me the ick. Also, in motorcycle racing Christian's stunt with Cruz would have had him banned in real life motorcycle racing. Main trigger warning: domestic violence. It took me 3 days to read 264 pages, when I can knock 264 pages out in a few hours.
Steamy hot MM dark romance.
I liked this book a lot, there was a lot of character and plot development. I love that Blaise and Cole were written by different authors, I thought that was a neat way to go about writing a co-authored book. There is a lot of spice in this book, so if that is not your jam I do not recommend it for you. Cole and Blaise who are step brothers, both with girlfriends, eventually fall in love with each other. Keeping their affair in the dark for a while as they were afraid of how others would perceive them being together since they were step brothers.
Fantastic Mafia Romance!
Beautiful Beast: An age gap forced proximity mafia romance (Mafia Legacy - Perfectly Imperfect Book 1)

Tropes:
GRIPPING PAGE TURNER!!!
Wow.. now I know why all the FB groups were buzzing over this book. It is absolutely phenomenal! I could not put it down, it is such a gripping page turner. The Ivory's remind me of the Whitlocks in 24690. I did not expect that ending holy moly, what a twist! I kind of want to know what becomes of Demi. Where does she go? Does she get the Ivory money? Does she go back to being homeless? I have so many questions!!
This is another one with a lot of TWs so I would highly suggest checking them before reading this book.
I really enjoyed this book. It was a great break from my regular reading genre. The book was short enough to finish in like 3 hours, it was long enough to complete the story. About half way through I thought I had it all figured out, boy was I wrong.
I really wanted to know Mollys story from when Adeline found her journal.
Much like all of HD Carlton's books that I have read, I loved it to pieces. I hope there is more to this story!
Be still my heart...
This book is absolutely heartbreaking. In other books when Ava is mentioned there's no indication of her psychosis. I truly feel bad for her not remembering two years of her life and living in a constant state of worrying about her next episode. The way Ava and Eli were written about in previous books this relationship was definitely a no brainer. The ending was so good!
For the love of all that is holy this book is SO GOOD! I started writing my review about 75% of the way through it and I'm sitting here with my jaw on the floor at ~85%. I'm sad this is the last book for now. I was hoping that Remi and Ari would get their own. FFS everytime I read a new Rina Kent book it becomes my favorite. All of them are my favorite. I may just go back and reread them all.
Again check your triggers, especially self harm before you read this book.
I'm pretty sure I got this rec from TikTok. This book had so much potential to be better. The writing was rather elementary and felt thrown together like the author was thinking “Booktok will eat this up” I'm sure they did.
I wanted more character development and exploration. Why were they adopted? What happened before they were adopted? Why was Olivia's mom such a cunt? Why did Malachi become a mute?
This definitely was not what I was expecting.
It was kind of all over the place. I did enjoy it, however, it was an awkward read for sure.
You can certainly tell from the style of writing it is an older novel.
Nikolai and Brandon's story is SO GOOD!
I don't even know where to start. I feel like with every Rina Kent book I read I fall more in love with her as an author. Brandon and Nikolai's story quickly became one of my favorites. In God of Ruin, it hinted at the possibility of a romance between the two it was very subtle. I really loved this story and how it ended. Nikolai is definitely more unhinged in this book vs previous ones. Mafia/organized crime, cat and mouse, enemies to lovers are the main tropes for this book. Definitely check your triggers before reading this.
I was slightly disappointed in this book. While it was okay, it was repetitive. I probably won't read the second one, it didn't interest me enough to. There are a lot of TWs for this book including but not limited to: kidnapping, rape, drugging, addiction, murder, pedophilia, and miscarriage
