And yet again....This book is TERRIBLE. Yes, I finished it. Am I going to read the rest of the series also yes. Do I have hopes the rest of the books will be better? No. I'm not sure the author understands what a plot is or what a climax is, as there is neither in this book. It is just rich kid bullying poor girl with zero substance. The only remotely interesting part in this book is the DNA test, however, I think Royal's dad faked it to get his focus off of Harper.... on to book 3 I supposed. I Hope I am not disappointed again, but based on the reviews I have read, I will be.
I love a good small town romance
I googled books that give hallmark movies, this this one popped up, it definitely did not disappoint!!! I love this to pieces!
Wow...talk about plot twists
Chapter 1 is excessively long it calculated to 9% of the book. In the first half of the book there was so much internal Morana monologue and not a lot of dialogue with other characters. You get more from Tristan (not words he's practically a mute) in this book, his relationship with Morana develops into more than just protecting her. Again, I was not able to put this down despite the typos, glaring grammatical errors, and excessive over use of certain terms. While this was marginally better than the first book when it comes to the excessive over use of phrases, I still wish the author would find some other ways to describe things. This book offered more backstory and plot twists than the first one. There is still room for improvement and it's going in the right direction. I'm looking forward to cracking open the 3rd one, I just realized there are 5!
Jesse and Bane is the best story of the bunch!
Wow. This book is probably my favorite of the series by a landslide. Bane and Jesse are brought together by her “step-dad” who hired Bane to get Jesse out of her shell after she was gang raped. The clause was Bane was not allowed to have sex with her. They fell in love ultimately having sex, then all the dominoes fell. Family secrets are divulged and everything Jesse thought she knew was blown up. The plot twists in this book are divine and well placed. I hate that this is the last book in this series and the others weren't nearly as good as this one.
Definitely check your trigger warnings especially in regard to rape and abuse as well as suicide.
This book is TERRIBLE. Yes, I finished it. Am I going to read the rest of the series also yes. Do I have hopes the rest of the books will be better? No. I'm not sure the author understands what a plot is or what a climax is, as there is neither in this book. It is just rich kid bullying poor girl with zero substance. I came across this series on booktok and they are ranting and raving over it...I'm over here just like WHY. I wish I could give this 0 stars.
This book answered so many questions...
WOWWWW... just wow, I can't process the last 15% of this book. There is so much revealed in one chapter I had to put the book down to breathe. While we just got to know Alpha in the last book, we got to meet his soulmate in this one. I wanted Alpha to get his memories back, however, that did not happen. I swear to all that is holy, each book in this series is better than the last, putting little pieces of the puzzle in place. I need more, I have to have more.
OKAY THIS WAS SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE FIRST TWO! WOW. I'm glad we moved on from Morana and Tristan's POV. I LOVED all the backstory to Dante and Amara. This book added to many different twists and turns I felt like my head might explode. I'm so glad I kept reading after the first book even though I had many qualms with it.
Amara is so relatable, while she went through so much trauma in her life she was resilient and worked through her trauma. Her and Dante are the very definition of soulmates. The build up of their love story is swoon worthy.
Perfect summer romance.
This book was so incredibly sweet like the first one in the series. A cute summer romance story about Sydney and Nate who rekindle their college romance. In the 10+ years of being apart they never stopped loving one another. I thought it was cute that Nate wrote into the column to seek Sydney's thoughts.
I was starting to get really irritated that Sydney wouldn't give Nate the time of day to talk to her. Would it have been that terrible to give him 10-15 minutes of your time and that whole debacle would have been avoided. Nate rubbed me the wrong way the way he kind of used Robby to get to Sydney, well that's what it seems like it is not implied in the book.
Can we get these books made into Hallmark/Lifetime movies? I love Hallmark and Lifetime movies and this reminds me of those. While this is the second book for the Firefly Beach series I can say they can be read separately as stand alones and you wouldn't miss anything if you read this one without reading the first one.
I thought this was an amazing novel! It definitely didn't end the way I thought it would! 10/10 would recommend reading it!
I DNF this book at 24%.
I couldn't get into it at all. I really wanted to like it, I'm very disappointed in it.
Pitch black darkness...
WOW. I wanted dark and I got pitch black, middle of the forest on the longest day of the year with a blind fold on dark. I absolutely loved this, it's dark, erotic, passionate, and poetic...there's complicated emotions, turmoil, grief, desire and the most vile actions I have ever read. I can't wait to crack open the next book, I feel like a fiend looking for their next score. I knew West was a snake, he rubbed me the wrong way from the start. Everleigh is so strong and resourceful. Bram oh Bram where do I even start with him, I knew it, that's all I'll say is that I knew it. Check your trigger warnings at the cover because this book will check every single one of them.
I cannot get enough of these books, holy moly. There are so many twists and turns I don't see coming. I love when books can surprise me, as most things I read I tend to figure out before hand and kind of ruin the surprise. This book is right on par with the first with how dark it is, there more torture and blood shed I can't stop thinking about what was done to Master Kuhken, he deserved it but still holy crap that was so wild. The ending of this was superb and everything I hoped for.
As always check your trigger warnings at the cover for this book because it is DARK.
What a plot twist of an ending!
Overall this book was okay, the plot twist at the end is what saved it. There is a TON of back story and build up to the good part. The Ella character really grated at me, I really did not like her. I hated the character so much she made me put the book down several times. I also want to know if Freddie is Jamie or Dans kid, that's the only thing missing. For a while I honestly thought the mother (Joy) was behind it all as the master manipulator, once it was revealed who really was blew my mind.
If I could give it less than 1 star I would. Ugh so disappointed. Started reading it because of a TikTok video saying “who says men can't write good spicy novels.” Well clearly this guy can't.
J.T. Is now my favorite author ever. Two books in a row that absolutely blew my mind. This book, ugh I may need to circle back to this review later when I can find more words to use. The complete mind F she gave me, I almost threw my kindle across the room. This book had me on an emotional roller coaster happy sad angry and happy again. I can't explain how emotionally invested I got into this story for it to just go poof (IYKYK I don't want to give away any spoilers). I feel like more people need to be talking about J.T.'s literary masterpieces, Pen Pal was phenomenal, Perfect Stranger also phenomenal. I'm just going to go down a J.T. Geissinger rabbit hole and binge everything I can get my grubby little hands on.
Good but had potential to be great.
I could not get enough of this book, I literally could not put it down. I had so much on my to do list for today, none of it got done because all I wanted to do was finish this book. It is a typical mob/mafia romance where the FMC is in one family and MMC is in another with some different twists about it. There was a situation with some codes in the first half of the book that was a big part of the story, but the codes barely get mentioned in the 2nd half, I was interested to see who stole them. I didn't like the repetitive references to Tristan's blue eyes, staring, and whiskey and sin voice...they were excessively over used. Additionally, the FMC uses his full name “Tristan Caine” why can't you just call him Tristan there isn't another one in the book. There are some glaring grammatical errors too for a book that's ~4.5 years old. I am invested in the story so I'll be reading the rest of the books.
Oh wow, what a story. Just like Pen Pal and Perfect Strangers, I absolutely loved this book. J.T.'s writing gives me life. This was such a good book to follow the other two as they were intense roller coasters of emotions, this one is calmer and less intense but still amazing in its own right. The character and plot development was delicious, I felt like I could picture everything and everyone in this book. I'd LOVE it if all of J.T.s books were turned into movies, I'd watch them repeatedly. I highly recommend this book and all her other work as well.
SO much wrapped in one book!
Lordy Lordy! I loved Isabel/Victoria and Parker's story so much! There are appearances from characters previously mentioned in the Bad Habits series and I love that! I can't wait to read the next one on the series!
OMG! what is going on with the cliff hanger endings!
At this point I'm just addicted to ALL THINGS JT! I had a feeling Dimitri was going to make an appearance here sooner or later. Killian is an interesting twist, I hope we get more on him, he sounds like a hoot! Eva needs to stop getting herself into sticky situations. I loved this book just like I loved all the other ones!
This was cute, funny, romantic and swoon worthy. I was so hesitant on reading this as it's not my normal genre, but I guess stepping out of your comfort zone can be rewarding. I loved Olivia and Ezra (IYKYK LOL) falling in love. I absolutely crushed this book in a few hours. I hated Dane from the very beginning, I almost hated Ami too but she grew on me. I'd definitely recommend reading this if you need a lighthearted funny enemies to lovers romance!
Ugh I have a love/hate relationship with cliff hangers.
OMG I can't believe JT did that to me I thought we were besties! I've got the 2nd booked queued up ready to go but still, that's not cool, ending the book on a cliff hanger like that. As per usual JT nails it, I love the extensive character and plot development then BAM plot twist.
So I can burn through a good novel in a day, I've been trying to finish this book for three days. I have to force myself to finish it.
The first 70% of the book is so uninteresting, then BAM chapter like 30 hits and you are like WTF did I just read.
It is a very slow, painful read. I was excited because it is set in DC/MD/VA which I am from MD so I was excited, I very quickly lost interest due to the slowness of this novel. I will finish it.
Wow. This was a wild read. I did not expect the ending. Theo went through great lengths to ensure that Alicia didn't recognize him and tell the story of when Gabriel died. This was a long drawn out story, but the ending was definitely worth the wait. This took me on a wild ride, I really thought It was never going to get to the plot twist. I thought the story was about Alicia but it's more about Theo and his self preservation.
WOW. Just WOW! This was nothing like I expected it to be. I fell so in love with all the characters. I was completely blown away by the ending it was not what I was thinking at all. I'm so glad I decided to read this, at first I was apprehensive because of others reviews but they're wrong. I read this in less than 24 hours it was so hard to put down, even to go to sleep!
